This has been an issue for me for about 2 weeks now.
I can remember the last time my 3g worked was when I was using ahero vanilla rom but then I disabled it through the *#*# code given to me on this forum.
since then, Ive moved back to sense roms like currently Im on the latest villian rom and I just cant seem to get my 3g back
I dont wanna go to telus since I rooted my phone, is there any options or tips I can get on here?

I've rooted my hero from telus and installed villianrom 6.1.0 yesterday. Since I have wifi at home I didn't see that 3G wasn't working. The thing I forgot after I installed the custom Rom was : Restore the APN setting for data connection to work.
Now it's working fine.

Hi guys, faced a really weird issue while flashing custom roms. I tried 3 roms over here, namely the chocolate eclair, froyo sense extended and RCMix22B WWE.
For all of these 3, I could no longer access the 3G/HSDPA network. Anyone faced such issues or have any idea to fix it?
I tried *#*#4636#*#* and put WCDMA preferred but still unable to get through the ping test. Did a nandroid restore and 3G is working again.
Hope I can resolve this
What network you on? Custom rom developers can't possibly hope to put every apn across the globe in their roms, so you may need to enter it manually.

I am new to these forums. I have an issue and I have searched everywhere for the solution.
I have a SGS2 and I rooted it with Lite'ning Rom v4.2.
I followed the instruction on this thread and my phone loaded the ROM successfully.
I have an issue, since I installed this rom my WiFi is not working.
Everytime I got to wifi settings, I see the available networks, however when trying to connect it just attempts to connect then disconnects.
I saw on this thread that another user had to flash the kernel to get his WiFi working.
I download the XXKG3 kernel for my S2 and flashed however still not working.
I am asking for some help with this as where I live I have no 3G reception so have to use Wifi in order to use internet on my S2.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
I flashed my phone with cyanogen 7.2 yesterday(it was running stock gingerbread 2.3.3) and lost network access. Everything else works fine ony there is no network reception. I have tried resetting the phone, flashed another rom (icslunar) but still no luck.Pls Help

I wondering that you didn't read FAQ, Guides etc.... like me ;p
But also i think that you are NOT as tricky as me so,
if cyanogem 7.2 is a next version of 7.1 (which has OLD BASEBAND) it seems like 7.2 is for OLD BASEBAND TOO.
What is more you have some ways to fix it:
1. Install patch from mik_os from his 7.1 CM thread.
2. Flash old baseband because stock GB in LG i equiped with new one. >>CLICK<<
3. Flash rom for NEW BASEBAND like Nitrgen - it has very very good performace.

Ok got my network back by restoring previous baseband but data still is not working!
Ok, here's your problem.
When you upgraded to 2.3.3 stock gingerbread, you eliminated the possibility of any ROM based on the old baseband for .32 and limited your options to ROMs supporting the NEW baseband, .35.
If you want to switch to the old baseband so you can use those ROMs I suggest you use this guide but be VERY CAREFUL.
As for your data problem, go to Settings--> Wireless and Networks-->Mobile Networks--> AccesPointNames and check. If it's empty, you should call your service provider and ask them for your GPRS/EDGE settings.

today a friend of mine flashed the Omega Rom 33.3 and got a wifi issue. The wifi never connects and says "Authentication failed", "wrong password" or it just says connecting and after a while it switches back, but on the MIUI the wifi works great. Also the wifi didn´t work on the stock 4.1.1.
I hope somebody can help us. Thanks in advance

EDIT: He tried a new kernel (SiyahKernel S3 v1.8) , also a new modem and it isn´t working at all. The weird thing is, that he got a full nandroid backup of my phone (Omega Rom 33.3), where everything is working fine, but on his phone the wifi doen´t want to work. The wifi worked at 4.0.4, before official 4.1.1 Kies update, and on the MIUI rom.

I just flashed a friends VZW Fascinate and it lost all its connectivity. Even switched through Mobile Networks CDMA settings from to HOME to AUTO does nothing.
If I flash back to VZW Base ROM as per the Guide here...connectivity comes back.

OR,, it has signal bars but no connection?
what about Wi-fi?
Did you flash a gapps package after you flashed hellybean?
did you activate the phone 1st with verizon on stock 2.3.x rom?

Since this topic was already here I'll use it instead of making a new one. Like him I'm not getting any data after flashing Helly bean, or DU, or any other custom ROM. Data works great on stock. I flashed another modem, but that didn't work for me.
