Merged Reversal 2.0 - Windows Mobile 6.1
ROM Version 5.2.19.213 WWE - R E V I V E D
Well, here it is: version 2. Actually, I did not really intend to bother once more with any cooked rom for the Prophet. But when I read lately that Windows Mobile 7 has been postponed until end of 2009, I thought of trying it again. For WM7 I suspect new hardware will be necessary, and I just do not want to buy a new device for only one year. So I decided to keep my Prophet a little bit longer and try to put a decent version of WM6.1 on it.
General Information:
This rom is based on Cloudyfa's latest contribution as you can tell by the version and has been merged and reversed back to the WM6.1 standard as closely as possible. I stripped off any additional software that is not "original". After some experimenting I also found that IR and "Receive all incoming beams" are not interlocked anymore as it used to be. So, no bug I hope, and actually quite handy. In terms of the keypad backlight: I found on an official HTC Touch Dual that the keypad backlight does not switch on either when pressing the power button. So I assume this is an "official" behaviour and not a bug either...(?)...
I was also thinking about implementing transcriber and VOIP. But as this rom might also be used by non-English speakers, I thought everyone should choose themselves. You can find the cabs all over the place or download the older but complete version 1.51 directly from Microsoft (English, German & French only). I also decided to leave VOIP out as I read too many different opinions on it in terms of functionality and stability.
Finally, I made two versions: one non-UC (with accessible and bootable Extended ROM) and one UC-capable. The latter one has also an accessible Extended ROM but will not boot from it. Find the download links below - Jump/Soft/Hard SPL required!
I have tested this rom heavily over the last couple of days in any imaginable way and could not find a single misbehaviour. If you do find anything suspicious, please tell me and I will have a look into it!
Short overview:
- WPA2 (implemented by Cloudyfa)
- IR fixed and fully operational
- CommManager re-arranged (showing 8 of 12 functions)
- added CommManager link to Control Panel
- added OCX Skin for Windows Media Player
- minor registry tweaks
- general clean-up

Anyway. I will do that on next release, and name it with my name.
So lazy to do that.

why dont you put your name on it. hihi.
It is okay too.
I think I like this! I will give it a try.
Nice ROM . Looks like an original one.
Good job chriskay.
I like this one.,
My first impression is very good, a splendid base-ROM. It is a bit to clean for my taste, but I prefer to add my favorites to my device by myself instead of being busy removing and altering what I don't like. So, a big thanks!
One small remark though (I have to, it is genetic) I think this commanager is to much Touch styled. In fact, the one in Korand's ROM is the most plain buttonstyled one (but is a pain to the eyes).

yeah, i know. i was looking around for some decent skins. but due to the neutrality of black also matching the original black dialpad, i thought it might suit just anybody best, since now, everyone can chose whatever theme colour they like, you see? moreover, the basic commmanager only supports 7 functions to my knowledge.

You are probably right. Anyway I have a habit about "greening" things up, so it don't bother me at all. If I bump in to a nice, neutral skin that matches the black dialer, I will remember you...
BTW you did upgrade the solitaire images, didn't you?
nope. this sort of "patch" might be nice for wm5. but the patched images just look rubbish compared to wm6 solitaire. only the cover images do look better. but that is not worth the "upgrade".

Now you know how often I have played Solitaire since I flashed WM6.... never noticed those upgraded images before!
BTW one thing I did like about Cloudyfa's extended design was the colored keyboard. Is it simple to install that one again? Wich files are involved?
i could provide you with the msim.96.dll which contains the green skin. but just copying it into the windows folder won't do the trick. i don't know if there is another way apart from recooking the rom. sorry!
Why is the top bar one solid colour?
or is that because of the screnshot program?

that is the official new design of wm6.1. i got used to it and now like it pretty much. looks a bit like vista now.
anyway, if you don't like it, delete registry key [hkcu\software\microsoft\today\windows mobile 6.1.tsk]
dear chriskay, can u upload WMP Skins (like in ur ROM) in cab file?
thanx in advance
Thanks very much!

recooking shouldn't be a problem, I you could upload that dll file I would be gratefull. Is it just a matter of replacing when cooking or is there more involved?
A lot of questions, but you did just that what I had planned to do, except from some minor details. You have saved me a lot of trial-and-error!

that is more or less exactly what i did. as i said, i am quite new to the cooking business. but it was quite some fun and interesting, and sometimes a pain in the arse... so, you should give it a try...
anyway, i upload the dll which just has to be replaced in the dump folder. BUT it is a module dll. so you can copy it right into the module folder or create one yourself with reversemode.exe. either way, before building the rom, you MUST use G'Reloc.exe. otherwise, it will most likely not work. that is at least my experience from replacing the touch.dll. i used neokit035 which still has g'reloc included. the same procedure is probably necessary when replacing any other module.
by the way, i was thinking to strip off the black commmanager skin and go for the basic blue one, since the black one has a tiny little minor flaw... it has got to be just perfect, you know (that is also genetic )?
p. s.: attached the entire module

ROM dated 09-13-2009
Features:
Old, better looking (in my opinion) WM 6.5 GUI (more slick, takes up less space on your screen);
29% to 32% RAM consumption;
Touch delay fixed;
GPS lag fixed;
Navigation and Footprints hardware buttons change functions enabled by default;
Native support for .rmvb filetype;
HTC Bluetooth Fix - Check HTC site for further details.
English:
This is the same build as dancer_69's first post, but it is in 0409 World Wide English with all of original Iolite's OEMs (also in 0409 World Wide English), not the HTC Mega ones.
This is basically your Iolite ROM with just an updated OS to WM 6.5.
Download the ROM by clicking here.
Since I cook the ROM myself, I changed the bootscreen to one of my authorship with my nick in it and I do not allow you to use it or edit it without my consent. Those who don't like it, can do one of two things - either use another ROM or figure it out by themselves. Complaints or questions regarding that will not be answered politely. Credits go to ME. If you want your name in it, build your own damn ROM.
Useful software for your Iolite here, just ask or Google it.
TF2D or Manila2D included and working like a charm.
Please vote and let me know what you think. Also you can donate...
Inherent Windows Mobile bugs:
1- When you start your device, the Messaging application will start in a weird way. You can tell by seeing an "X" where the Task Manager should be and the Softkeys saying "Messaging" and such. It would appear that the device is frozen. No worries, just click "X". All is good.
2 - "Finger-mouse" not availble for build 23016.
Everything else works like a charm.
Hope you enjoy it.
Best regards.
Screenshots available - They are in Portuguese 'cause I got lazy and didn't take screenshots of them in English, 'cause I already made this exact same ROM in Portuguese before, but I assure you this ROM is in English as well as every single application.

By fingermouse you mean the scrolling middle hardware button?
This must works if you include smarttouch package from original Iolite's EXT folder.
I haven't any problem in this, or any other build with scrolling button with the presence of this package.

Hey, dancer_69...
No, by fingermouse I mean the ability to drag-and-drop Start Menu Items by long pressing them and moving your finger, as opposed to popping up the dialog "move to top" or "move to bottom"...
But thank you for your input and for having been an inspiration for cooking.
Best regards,
Thanks, billabongstaf, I've installed this Rom about 20 minutes ago. My first notice is that in the Manilla Tf2d when you click "all settings" it runs only connection setting and not all the settings... is it supposed to be so?
hmm i wont mind if the voter who voted "very bad" to state the reason so? Can no longer check who voted what so cant ask you.. :s

I'm betting it is supposed to be like that, since when I got my Iolite it did the exact same thing. The "All Settings" are regarding the Comm Manager, as to my knowledge.

Hey there, ZILLKA, you're welcome.
I only have stutering for about five or six seconds after boot 'cause some programs are still loading. After that no stutering for me. At all.
But if you still have that issue, try getting Chainfire's GFXBoost 1.1 by clicking here, installing it and then soft-resetting your device. Everything should work like a peach now.
Best regards,
not being a fag here but after flashing the roms to and fro, i guess with mega packages really screw the phone up well. LoL. Back to iolite packages! This is stable for me.

Hello
Looks ok the rom, but the clicking problem is really annoying. And it does not happen only in File Explorer, but in more applications that use file listings, making some of them unusable with the touchscreen, must use the directional keypad

I'm guessing you're referring to my other release, the one with HTC Mega packages, not this one, this does not have any touch delay... But even still, I know it can be a pain in the neck and so I'm whipping up a new ROM based on the HTC Mega's Official ROM, that came out September 24th (not the packages, but the ROM itself)...
Let's see how that goes...
Looks like I posted in the french instead of english thread before. I am actually using this one and am very pleased with it - thanks!
Also, you helped me with the signature in the other thread. Any idea how I can change the message size? I am having most messages not download due to size, so I have to click, re-send/receive email to view it. How can I change the settings to increase size?
Thanks again, still testing it, but it seems very good so far, minimal stuttering and nowhere near as much lag as the other flash I did.

Answering my own question:
To edit message size limits, open an email, hit the OK button in top right, and from your list go to the menu, then TOOLS -> Options, then tap your account. You can now edit the space settings and download options for attachments.
Hey!
I've been working on a project the 4 last months and it's looking pretty good now. It's only compatible with WVGA devices (480x800 resolutions).
What is it?
iPhoneUI is a shell for the Windows Mobile system. It works on the Windows Mobile 6.0, 6.1 & 6.5 systems.
It is maximized which means that this will "overwrite" your booring original windows homescreen.
It features a nicely made topbar, sliding between pages, a lockscreen and some widgets.
Before starting
*Please COMMENT & give me feedback and suggestions on what i should add to the application. Without you I won't be able to improve the shell.
*If you like my work, please be generous and donate a few bucks to support my work Donate here
Instructions
1. Go to my website (http://www.chabbeclub.tk)
2. Download the latest build & the .NET 3.5 cab from my website.
3. Install (if not already installed on your device) the dotnet.cab file.
4. Then install the latest iPhoneUI build
5. Soft-Reset device (if needed) and you're good to go!
Latest Changelog
Made changes in topbar
Remade the UnlockWidget. I've added a UnlockSlider.txt in iPhoneUI folder that the application now uses to view text in the unlockwidget.
Added option to change the Unlockslider.txt file in options menu.
Also added abillity to change the vibration pattern in the options menu.
Removed the battery charging icon and instead it will now show a dot (.) infront of the battery percentage when charging
Also deleted the ugly battery icon in topbar.
Problems/Bugs
**A serious bug which I at the moment can't seem to fix. The problem is that the multi-pages function only works with english and swedish devices. All other devices will only be able to get the first and last page.
Temporary solution to viewing all the pages for non-english/swedish devices
First, you need to download and install the latest build from my website.
Then go to Program(s)/iPhoneUI and transfer the Shellconfig.xml to your computer
Open it up with notepad
Press Ctrl + F and search for <targetFolder>\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\</targetFolder>
When it has found the text, change the targetFolder to where your programs folder is located. Unfortunately you have to do this manually.
Press save and upload it to the Program(s)iPhoneUI folder, if needed overwrite the previous.
Restart application and done! Now the multi-pages should work for all devices, even for the non-english/swedish.
Notice
This project is closed due to not beeing appreciated, and therefore don't expect to recieve any answers or help from me although I'll try and help you the best way I can. My website will still be up for those of you who wants the application.

Hey guys,
The difference is that it's using a fullscreen and because of that I have a topbar. But this app is slower and the iphonetoday app is better according to some, not me . But I've been working on it for 4 months now and it's really turning out... As if now, the iphonetoday is a little bit better but I'm working on it every day

Like we all know, the competition makes things better.
I just installed it, to try it out. Unfortunately as you might be aware too, it is too slow and even the graphics seems to be a bit enlarged (Not at all eye candy). To be frank, i did not even explore all the options before i uninstall it.
Thought of having some more versions of wait, before i can try again.
Definitely this app is lot behind the IPhonetoday. I see more potential in having a revolutionary work like 'TouchXperience' UI. It really brings out the new ideas in how else the UI can be...
Just my few thoughts out for you...

Sure thing, thank you for beeing honest.
I'm well aware that this is very very slow and that the graphics isn't the best. But I'm trying to fix all of that in order to release a good beta, or even the complete version of the app. Thank you though for giving me feedback
I just want to inform you that I'm releasing the 0.2.1a version tomorrow. I'm going through final steps at the moment
though i was never really an iphone fan, i like the fact that people like you try to create things in one way or another.
when the time is ripe and when possible this app can be skinned to look as much as unlike an iphone as possible, that would be something! (me thinks)
for the time being, keep up the good work!

Hi all NEON400 users, they asked me to make a rom for you guys, so I decided to give it a go.
Before you flash this rom just make sure you did THIS.
I recommanded to flash through sd-card:
1. Format SD card to FAT32
2. Copy the NBH file and rename it to NEOCIMG.nbh (already did that )
3. Pull and reinsert the battery
4. Press the camera button and the power button
5. Complete update process, press power to start.
6. Reset using button beside USB when completed.
Just keep in mind this is only a testrelease, I can not test it myself because I don't have a NEON400.
Before you place a comment, please people only place comments about this rom and don't place such comments as "'your is better then deepankerjha's rom or deephankerjha's rom is much better then yours''.
We are only trying to help you so keep the comments friendly.
Just one thing be aware you use it at your own risk.
Goodluck and plse keep me informed asap.
Special thanks

Thanks Rata! I'll test this tonight!
Rata, I flashed it twice and it won't boot. It gets stuck at the second splash screen (the Telus one).
I flashed once, tried to boot it, flashed a second time then tried to boot then I hard reset and tried to boot. It didn't boot once. It also doesn't show the ROM and Radio information like it usually does in the splash screen.
thanks for the effort. I'll keep testing.

I flashed once, tried to boot it, flashed a second time then tried to boot then I hard reset and tried to boot. It didn't boot once. It also doesn't show the ROM and Radio information like it usually does in the splash screen.
thanks for the effort. I'll keep testing.

Beautiful! This one boots perfectly! Will let you know about any issues. Seems very very fast. I believe it has something to do with the cube having been removed.

Okay, one issue is with the SMS tab in Titanium. It doesn't show the texts. See the attached screenshots.
Is there some reg setting that'll take care of this? It seems like it should be simple.
Also, in the 3rd screenshot there are two versions of USBtoPC...only the one of the left works.
A couple other issues probably relating to the same things:
When I plug in the USB cord I get an error on popup.
I cannot send text messages. I think it has something to do with the SMS program? SMS receive works and call place and receive also works. Cannot test data as this phone doesn't have a data plan.

Great, it's working, I take a look at the reg setting and inform you asap about that, just need to know if all the function are working.
So I attached a checklist, please take a look at it.
For now have fun with testing.

oops, sorry
Yes, Preconfig launches - works perfectly
Phone boots in 28 seconds
IR N/A
Wifi N/A
BT works
No data plan so cannot test data, however EV is displayed which is the proper image
BT connects to my PC but have not tested A2DP or standard headset.
MMS untested
SMS receives but does not send
Hardware keyboard works but there is no t9 multi-tap.
Button pressed will only type the first letter printed (i.e. QW key only types q...5GH key only types 5 etc)
Slide of keyboard performs no screen action.
Voicemail prompts
Dialer has a vertical scroll bar which can scroll for a while. Weird. See screenshots.
Dialer buttons function properly
Background is proper
Smart Dial works properly
Smart Dial is readable
Ringtones work
Calls place correctly
Incoming announced correctly
Missed calls recorded correctly
Memory and phone info is correct (see screenshot)
Will ignore program testing for now
ROM version is displayed
Phone feels very very fast (as compared to the stock 6.1 and another 6.5 ROM)
Unsure what pagepool is set to now or what the effects of it;s change would be.
Telus neon400 user here
In addition to the last post, I can't turn bluetooth on or off from the communication manager (the HTC thingy )
However, I can turn it on manually if I go to Start -> Settings-> Bluetooth
Just a note...the phone feels very fast compared to the stock 6.1 rom. Keep up the good work!
Thanks buddies
@ 88fingerslukee Thanks for testing and the testreport
@ IronSky Thanks for testing
Okay read the testresult from 88fingerslukee and I think the hard work for me is to get sms working, from what I can understand from the both of you, it's a pretty stable base to continue with, so this is what I'm gonna do right now is to create the same rom on my Niki and see if I have the same errors, after that I will release this one and a full rom.
Try to make it asap.
Really appreciate you guy's had the courage to test the release.

We really appreciate you taking the time to help us out with our ROM!
BTW, you don't know how much courage my testing takes! This is my girlfriend's phone and she uses it all the time (complaining about the Stock ROM all the way I might add). I have to wrestle it away from her to do the testing and then put it all back afterwards so she can actually use it.
Thanks again Rata, will test the new ROM as soon as you can release it.

downloading now.
UPDATE:
Same issues persist, in both Manila and Titanium. I didn't notice this before, but "New" in the SMS Menu is grayed out. It will not allow the creation of a new message.
Dialer still has vertical scroll bar.
I have removed this ROM so that the GF can use her phone. Will test the next version.

Okay thanks, it seems that I deleted something so the new sms doesn't work, I have to check the complete build also have to check the dialer, thought I fixed it but there is still a vertical scrollbar, also take a look at that.
Thanks,

Thanks Rata, sorry about my short reply up there...I didn't have time to get all fancy with my words.
I didn't notice much change from the v.2 ROM except the speed was a little slower (most likely owing to Manila being included). All-in-all the touchscreen response on these ROMS is the best this phone has ever had. It's always been sluggish to respond but now it's snappy.
I think if we could port Android to this thing would be the best in the long run though.

It's correct for now I'm using the same build, if we solved all the issues it's easier to switch from build.
I'm glad the response is ok if someone of the NEON400 users find a way to get sms working by including a cab or something simular, plse let me know.

Coming Soon:
More UI elements themed
More apps themed
jav... nice work! tried to catch you in IRC, but you left b4 I got a chance to talk to you about this...
Not sure if this was designed this way, but wanted to let you know either way... it's kinda that way in Google Voice as well... Great job tho...
I kind of did that on purpose, but I've been toying with making them more prominent a bit. You might see the look get updated in the near future. I'm glad you like my work though and appreciate the constructive criticism.
Niiiiiiccceeeee!!! Did you use the black modded apps package to make twitter and facebook black?
I really like the theme, it looks great. I also love dark/minimalist themes. The only thing i don't like about is it is that the battery indicator looks a bit too bright/happy for the theme.... Maybe a grey indicator in the status bar would work better or maybe a blue or purple one. Just a suggestion. Other than that it looks great.
Nice work ,

Nope. Everything about this theme, aside from the default wallpaper, I made myself.

I've actually been trying to remove almost all color, or at least that's the end goal.... except for green. I wanted to let the Android green stay. I also happen to think it looks good with the black and gray, brings just a slight amount of color. So, unfortunately, I don't intend on changing the battery indicator. Maybe I could provide a grayscale option as a flashable update.zip style installer package at a later date though if I get time.
I'm glad you like what I've got together so far. It's really far from done yet, I plan on more deeply theming a lot of the other apk's, like facebook and twitter that you mentioned, so that they're more black just like the Gmail/Gtalk apps are already.
Perhaps I'm missing something....
since swype apparently was not included w/ 2.2.2, I downloaded the swype apk, but even after reinstalling the theme, I still get the default swype keyboard.
Other than that I'm a big fan, nice work!
The direction s on the original post should state where to find everything. I don't install swype automatically as not everyone has it installed/uses it. Check /sdcard/BlackOut for a D2_Swype.zip and flash it from recovery.
Afaik, it works perfectly. I know a bunch of people who're using it.
Please try and remember to always read the first post from start to finish before reporting "bugs". I'm glad you like my work.
Sweet theme, in the 5 minutes I have looked at it and tried it. No themed FB and Twitter widget though? Something I am missing?

Same here. Neither of them are themed. Stock and LauncherPro.
In Dominican, but sae your posts. Check /sdcard/BlackOut after theme install for the apks as stated in the thread
Hey jav, love this theme. Was wondering if you were going to update for 2.3+ before I installed 2.3. Black Out is where it's at!
Just got back from vacation. Updates coming in the next couple of days. Stay tuned...

I was looking for a zip file with CW recovery, and it won't show apks.
Gonna try it now, thanks
So much for that - the apks wont install.
None of them...and I am no rookie
I have been using this theme for a while, LOVE IT. my background fades into black so the effect is absolutely great. Thanks a ton.

It sounds like you're doing something wrong. You don't install apk's in recovery. Can you describe for me the exact steps you're trying to take to install these? Nobody else has reported any issues on DX or D2, so I highly doubt it has anything to do with the apk's themselves, but I could be wrong.
Best theme out there, any chance we will be seeing Gmail 2.3.2 in all black? Also a blacked out version of market would be pretty cool. Looking forward to the 2.3 drop when it comes out!

Everything should be updated hopefully this weekend to work with 2.3, including hopefully the new Gmail. I've been hearing there's already a Fission 2.3.1, so I might just jump over 2.3 to that, but either way, the theme will be getting updated and development continues.

I'm not really sure what you're doing in Root Explorer. All you have to do is open up the included "Files" file manager and click on the *.apk file that you want to install from /sdcard/BlackOut. It'll prompt you if you want to install it and you click ok. Afaik, you're the only one that's been having issues getting these .apk's installed. Try it the way I just described and report back, if possible. It's really the simplest / only way I ever install *.apk's and I've never had issue.
