Hey guys,
Is there a way to get the stock HTC Lockscreen back?
I flashed the lockscreendelete zip from Grdlocks all in one script. This is working good.
However, i would like to try the other stuff out there, like the rotarylockscreen.
But i flash it and nothing happens... I'm assuming it's because i alreday messed with it.
Am i right that I need to have the stock lockscreen to be able to flash these other lockscreens?
Or can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
Thank you!
The HTC lock screen is actually not stock, but their custom creation. The rotary and slide vanilla lock screens are the ones that come with Android. So you do not need the HTC lock screen to get the rotary one. In fact, you need to remove it.
The stock screens are controlled by some java classes in you android.policy.jar file. Those classes control which lock screen you see when you remove the HTC one. If you flashed something and it did not work, try clearing your cache from recovery and see if that helps. If not, use your NAND backup and try again. It is also possible that the mod is not compatible with your ROM.
I attached the HTC lock screen in case you wanted it back.
Awesome. Thaks for the info.
I actually tried the ones from your thread also... with no luck.
So you think putting the HTC lockscreen back on wont help? I guess since they weren't working, i just thought i had to get it back to the way it was to get these new lockscreens to work.
By clearing cache, do you mean dalvik cache?
I have never done that without flashing a new rom. I wont screw anything up?
Wiping the cache will not mess anything up. Your phone will just rebuild it when it boots again. You may want to try that before putting the lock screen back. Nonetheless, if it does not help, I would revert to your backup instead.
Is there a zip file with the vanilla lockscreen, but either without the clock or a non-transparent background? I tried the lockscreen that cableguynoe was talking about from the all-in-one script, but I hate how the lock's clock gets jumbled up with my home screen's clock. Thanks!
Edit: I found ihtfp69's thread about the vanilla lockscreen with non-transparent background. Gonna give that a try. Thanks.
Edit2: Yes, it worked! That's awesome!
Ok, so I replaced the screeen, but I can't turn off my alarm clock! I'm running Ivan's Official Eris 1.0 Rom. Do I have to use the stock alarm clock, instead of the Sense clock? How/where can I do that? Thanks!

That is one of the problems of this lockscreen. Alarm is whack.
You'll have to use a seperate alarm app.
ihtft69 might have fixed this problem with these lockscreens:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=694906
However, back to my original post, it's not working for me.
CAn you give them a try please and let me know if it works for you? I need to knwo if I'm doing something wrong or if there's a step missing in going from one vanilla lockscreen to another...

ooops.
Hadn't seen your edit.
So you went from the lockscreen in the all in one script to the ones with a backround?

If you ran my script, open up your apps drawer. There should be one (or two) called Clock. It is the one with a square-ish shaped icon and a light background with no digits in the clock face. Open it up. This is a vanilla desk clock (not the HTC one). Use the alarms in there instead. They work correctly with the vanilla lock screen.

Yes, I used the script and I put in my own background. I would post up my background, but I have some limit on my new membership here...

First and foremost, this would not have originally been possible without all the hard work zimphishmonger and the3dman13 did to bring fighspit's original battery mod to the vibrant, please see the original thread here, and give them some thanks! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=756441
I'm also borrowing zimphishmonger's warning, as i think it works to keep warning messages standard across all these battery mod threads.
WARNING: ALWAYS make a nandroid backup prior to installing any modification, including this one. You are making the decision to install this on your own, and I am not responsible for anything nuclear that may happen to your device.
UPDATE.. I lost count (10/5/2010)
So I dig Eugene's Frankin-twiz rom's, but I still want to keep my accurate battery mod, and well, I think his glossy-black skin is ugly. I also think the stock vibrant touchwiz skin is ugly (for the love of all that's holy samsung, why did you decide the vibrant would be the ONLY galaxy s phone to get your stupid glossy version of touchwiz?!)
So, I ported my battery mod to frankin-twiz and at the same time, ripped all the matte (non glossy) drawable's from the I9000 touchwiz skin, and added in my colored status/signal, mms, calendar, music player, and gmail icons, restored the black background for the power control widget, added HTC's weather icons to GenieWidget.apk, changed to the stock I9000 bootup and shutdown animation and sounds, and of course, I probably missed something else too, lol. You can see some (semi-outdated) screenshots here: http://picasaweb.google.com/113127051130934911253/AndroidStuff?feat=directlink
Also, if you find yourself being a typography nerd like me, you can use this zip to switch the default system font to Comfortaa I take NO CREDIT WHATSOEVER for making the original font, or the android port, I only re-packaged the files into a Clockwork-mod zip file for the vibrant. This will also change the lockscreen clock font to comfortaa, but ONLY if using the default android lockscreen.
Comfortaa system fonts: http://www.4shared.com/file/hYu1TYHL/Comfortaa_system_fonts_ONLY.html
New for ftwiz_final: I'm including an extra version with the samsung calendar AND the AOSP mms app, per Eugene's thread, since it resolves issues with being unable to send sms/mms messages. I'm also including the newest version of my battery mod (this is the version I personally like best and use daily), based on the upright/vertical icons, but with colored borders/outline, and a smoother charging animation (thanks to untermensch!) This can be applied on its own, after you flash either of the other versions. If flashed without flashing one of the other versions first, it DOES NOT contain the gmail/calendar/mms/music player icons, or the startup & shutdown animations and sounds. You can see a screenshot added to the post below too.
Download links here, ftwiz_final ONLY:
Removed, sorry, too many people use other people's work without giving credit, and it leads to way too many headaches, he-said/she-said, ignorance, etc.
Everything should flash via clockwork recovery fine, place the zip on the root of your INTERNAL /sdcard directory, reboot into clockwork, I recommend wiping the cache & dalvik-cache, then install zip from sdcard, locate the specific zip, reboot.
Enjoy, cheers everyone, and if you come in here posting bugs/whining for help without first making sure you cleared your cache and dalvik-cache, then I'm just going to ignore you,
Looks Great!!!
Thanks alot works well on my phone
i love it! not a big fan of the round battery icon, so this is great
Great work! Glad to see everyone is making their own customized battery images. We are gonna have a battery collection soon.
just a quick update to the OP with a new version with some colored/themed status icons.
cheers

I did, switched from the green circle. The battery indicator works fine.
I used the circle one but saw this with the other colored icons and thought they were cool. Seems that they don't quite work properly. Stock the GPS indicator shows in the notification bar any time it's on. With the new icons from the op the indicator is only on if I'm in an app that is using the GPS. I'm going to flash back to stock then to the battery only mod (i figure I need to to switch the other icons?)

Hi,
Thanks for trying it out. I have no idea how there might be issues since this is literally just img replacement from the segmented green circular battery mod, so however icons should work with that mod, is how they should work with this mod.
Maybe run a fix permissions from rom manager and see if that helps?
Also, my GPS icon has never worked like you described, even stock, (in other words, mine isn't always visible in notification bar, even when not in an app actively using gps, its displayed only when using an app that needs GPS, and disappeared when exiting the app.)
If you want to try and modify your own framework-res.apk with these files, I may upload just my png images once I'm done replacing/coloring all the icons I feel like modifying.
Thanks again for trying it out though, cheers
Lastly, I got bored and colored the wifi icons, cell-signal icons, and vibration indicator icon, I'll post the framework-res.apk in the first post, but won't package a new update.zip until I decide I'm done modifying icons, lol.

Excellent work! I like the new colored signal icons. Consider possibly creating a metamorph of it, as they are very easy to update.

I'll be switching back to your colored icons and battery now.
And as soon as you are done changing the icons and create a zip I'll switch to those. I like the color.

Hey again,
Glad I wasn't screwing up phone's, lol.
Anyway, I'm still working on changing all the icons, can't seem to decide where to stop yet, since now I've started modifying icons for other apps, gmail, mms, google voice, trillian, etc. And of course, now that I've gone with a slightly brighter green in the other icons, I may go back and tweak the color of my battery icon to match.
Anyway, here's a screenshot of some of the icons I'm mostly finished with (though for some reason I'm not digging the alarm icon, anyone have color suggestions for it?)
cheers,

Yeah...sorry about that. Anyway I hate that stupid icon to begin with so maybe something totally different? I did a GIS for alarm clock icon and there are a lot of possibilities. I think that maybe the stock one with a red square and white clock could be good.
Edit: Maybe something like this

If you don't already have it, I suggest you install Koush's Clockwork Recovery. You can install it quickly by using ROM Manager.
Once you boot into the recovery ROM, you can back up your entire phone using Nandroid (highly advised) and then you're free to experiment to your heart's content.
Now back to your question: you can save the file to your internal SD card and search for it using the 'Install from SD' (or something like that) option in the Clockwork ROM, install it and reboot.
Good luck, friend.
What's the right way to revert this? framework-res.apk restore?
Updated OP with newest mod.
I think I'm done with this for a while now, though I might zip all the png files if someone else wants to try and make this into a morph when the app gets updated.

Hi,
Yes, restoring your backed-up framework-res.apk will restore the battery mod. If you used the newer zip that also includes the Gmail icon mod, then you'll need to restore Gmail.apk too /system/app too.

FLIPPING CLOCK FOR WILDFIRE -- Taken from SFM 1.1--
This is a bug free Sense clock (Flipclock) for the wildfire taken from the SFM 1.1 ROM.The clock behaves as the normal HTC clock(Tapping either takes you to Desk clock app or weather app) but has added FLIPPING animation .I have used it for a few hours and havent noticed any bugs. All credits to evilisto and someone else's zip file( i didn't know how to sign or whatever them).Brickbats are for me.
To be performed at your own risk.
This requires a rooted wildfire with recovery(i used CWM 2.5.0.7) and any SENSE rom
(I havent tried it on any other rom)
Please follow the instruction or u MAY have a TINY problem.
1.Make a nandroid backup
2.The previous HTC sense flipclock (only the big(4x2) thing with white squares on which Time is diplayed in black) widget should be somewhere on ur homescreens and preferably there should be an empty row beneath it.(U'll later learn y)
3.Put attached Sense21clock.zip onto sdcard root
4.Reboot into recovery and use " Install zip from sdcard" and select the file and confirm.Reboot Device.
5. Voila.U are done.Enjoy The SENSuous flipping animation when u unlock the phone and when u patiently wait for each minute to pass.
This has a problem though. U can no longer see the clock in ur widgets list. But since u already have it, that shouldn't be a problem) .Also the empty row of icons was required because the clock becomes 4x3 now, But it displays date, day, time, weather and location.
if u ever want to revert back the clock u will have to reflash the older OLDSenseclock.zip
Tested on DK Froyo 4.5.1 . Animation may be a bit jittery at stock speeds(528 Mhz)(esp after unlocking device) or that may be just me.Excuse the SMS language inputs.
For those with strange weather animations
(i mean like those in post number 7's attachments)
solved by patrask-Freeze HtcWeatherWallpaper.apk with Titanium Backup or
0.Make nandroid backup
1.Ensure u have a file HtcWeatherWallpaper.apk in ur system\apps directory (Use root explorer or something)
2.Remove HtcWeatherWallpaper.apk by following instructions from this link
http://iamandroid.com/profiles/blogs/guide-android-how-to-easily
3.Reboot.It might take a while to reboot so take a coffee break.
This will not work on non-sense based ROMS.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
tested it and yes you are right that there's a bit of excess lines at the center of each number when you've restored it from the locked screen. There's a similar one that I've been using which was taken from desireHD and ported it over the WF.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=960189
The problem with it is that the weather is cropped beneath the City and the Date but you can remove it and place it again as a widget.
Thanks anyway.
@rrbhootham
thanks very much! Its great
Could you try to port the sfm 1.1 lockscreen(sense 3.0) for our sense roms? Just flashing the htclockscreen.apk doesnt work...

That weather thing is why i didn't prefer that clock. It looked a bit unpolished.
Nice clock. It works pretty good, but there is a problem with the weather animation (see the pictures below). It seems that the weather graphics are missing. Is there anyway to embed them, or at least a way to disable the weather animation?

Did u change any opengl files of ur phone?Any live wallpaper fixes? That could be one of the reasons. And by the way weather animations are not supposed to work on the wildfire(AFAIK without any 3rd party stuff). What rom are u using? What weather is that bug for?

Hi rrbhootham,
I'have JockerDroid 4.2 and I installed the WildPuzzle Original Framework in order to restore the original framework since I didn't like some customizations made by the JockerDroid ROM.
Most probablly the wheater animation problem is caused by that patch. I'll try reflasching the ROM to check if the problem persist.
Anyway it would be interesting if someone else is having the weather animation working properly.
Please, check the video in the attachement for another demonstration of the weather error.

Im also having weather animation problems, if someone had figured out a way how to fix it, please respond as soon as possible
Thanks in advance...

Hello Marshall,
I was googling around and i found this http://androidforums.com/eris-all-t...g-weather-animation-issues-w-latest-leak.html . The thread says this might be due to any graphics fixes. If u check JokerDroid 4.2's changelog there are graphics fixes mentioned, and that might be for the transparency of the menus and stuff and i believe this messes the transparency of the older weather animations.it might not have anything to do with the framework pack. i'll keep looking into this.

yes that worked as well cool nice 1
I have questions.
Did you add an 0 before the 1 digit hours? like 9:07 -> 09:07 or 3:15 -> 03:15
Sometimes I come across a Clock bug on stock Froyo. The date and weather info is on the lower right of the widget by default but sometimes it comes to lower center. Did something like this happened?
Another bug with original Clock is when you remove the widget sometimes the transparent base stays on the home. Did this happened too?
That's all. Thx in advance.

That is a long shot but well worth trying.A better scenario is sfm getting released.I'm jobless now so i'll see what i can do.
I'm sure that a lot of you know this already, and also that most of you enjoy the Sense 3.0 lockscreen. However, in case any of you wanted the simplicity of the AOSP lockscreen, here is a simple way to do it. With the Evo 4G it was the same way, but you needed to use the AOSP clock for the alarm to function properly. So far I've had no issues with it here, I'm able to unlock the screen and click dismiss, and the alarm turns off. So I've had no problems using it yet. If you have a screen lock or whatever, you'll need to enter it to unlock before being able to dismiss. That is good, to ensure you're really awake, lol.
Using Root Explorer or any other root level file manager, such as ES File Explorer, navigate to the /system/app folder. Scroll down to HtcLockScreen.apk, and rename it to HtcLockScreen.bak (I prefer to rename change the file extension to .bak so the app disables, in case I choose to go back to it, it's as simple as changing it back to .apk and rebooting). Once the HTC lockscreen is disabled, you're left with the stock AOSP lockscreen, which is there all along. Don't forget to make sure Root Explorer is mounted as R/W before doing that. Once done, reboot. You should then have the AOSP lockscreen.
EDIT: And btw, I'm currently not using the Rosie launcher. I'm using the stock gingerbread launcher, so I'm unsure if or how this will affect using Rosie. Report back if there are any problems with that, so others know. Thanks.

Awesome. As cool as the animated weather lockscreen is I think that whole ring thing is just stupid. It's ugly and not very intuitive. Not to mention it is not smooth at all.

I'm using the launcher from the Supra rim thread. He has an apk attached. I haven't had ant issues with it. The apologize drawer doesn't have that "rounded scroll " effect when you scroll it, if that's what you mean. Otherwise it works great.

I think the sense 3.0 lock screen is great. Once u customize your shortcuts it's fantastic

I thought so too at first. But a month and change in (for the most part) and I found that I almost never used those shortcuts. I'm talkin' single digits here...perhaps countable on one hand....the weather is really cool, but, that ring...I'm all like "what?" But, as usual around here, to each his own.
Thank god for the stock lock screen...thanks OP

It is a good lock screen. But either way it's always best to have options.
I'm now trying to switch to the AOSP lockscreen. Works fine when I rename the htclockscreen.apk file but... I'd sure like a way to turn off the menu button which completely defeats the entire lock system. Reason I want to switch is that HTC still doesn't know how to make a lock screen that doesn't constantly pocket answer. Sense 3.0 is no better. So the AOSP lockscreen would do the job: if I could disable the menu button so that pressing menu does nothing (like it should). Anyone know how to disable the menu button on the lockscreen? Would also be nice to turn off the haptic garbage when sliding the slider too.
Any info? I found a flash for the Evo 4G that disables the menu button on the lockscreen but it involved replacing a .jar file in the framework folder. I'm thinking an Evo 4G file in there would probably not be compatible with the Evo 3D so we probably need our own file, right?
Thanks,
Mike
Hell yeah. Just what I've been looking for. Thanks. Works great!
is there any way to do the opposite?
use aosp throughout the whole rom
but have the htcsenselockring?
sorry if it had already been asked.
Guess I'm stuck with the HTC lockscreen answering in my pocket. You lose too much using the AOSP lockscreen:
(1) Caller ID on lockscreen: have to unlock to see who is calling and after that, there's no way to relock before you put it back in your pocket: pressing the power button disconnects the call. Smart!
(2) Menu button completely overrides the lock. Again... SMART!
(3) Idiotic haptic feedback while sliding the lock.
Just wish HTC would do it right. All they'd have to do is offer a side to side or different type of unlock as an option. Screen Suite actually works pretty well but you have two choices of a lock slider: iPhone (don't get me started) and a stupid cartoony spaceship that looks completely ghey. Sigh... this should be SIMPLE!

There is a ROM that has that, it has the sense lock screen but an ASOP look. Sadly I forgot which one it was since I flash like every other day.
Edit: Its Project ROM.
The easiest way to get the AOSP lockscreen instead of Sense imo is just go into Titanium Backup, go to Backup/Restore tab, scroll down to HTC Lockscreen(not sure of the name of the actual app but it is obvious and has HTC Lockscreen in the name), uninstall it and then reboot your phone and you will have AOSP lockscreen.
I used this method but now when my screen is off and I receive a call, I have to unlock the screen, but it only displays the red end button as if I am already in a call. It does not allow me to answer the call. Any remedy to this? Thanks

All of a sudden I have no icons on my home screen, only labels. I can still launch programs by touching where the icons should be but they are all invisible. My lock screen has only pink squares where the shortcuts should be as well. I have tried changing themes and Icons but to no effect. Has anyone else run into this?
if you would post a little more info
like what rom are you using, did you flash any mods, etc that will help pin point what the problem is and how best to fix it

This is on Viper 3.0.1. No mods installed other than what is in the Viper Customizer app. I was installing apps after (finally) getting my 3g data working, went back to the home screen, no icons. I have just tried fixing permissions, clearing caches, and wiping data for Sense. I'm unsure what the Sense UI actually shows up as under Apps or Titanium Backup so I wiped data on pretty much everything that said 'Sense'. No go :/
try reflashing the rom without wiping anything(dirty flash) if that doesnt work then rewipe stsyem and reflash rom
They might still have ICS icons in their hub, that can f*ck up a lot of ish...

If you have task manager open it up press refresh. Then press stop all. See if it brings your widgets back.

hi! I come from a nexus 4 and I don't quiet like the Sony lock screen.. is there a way of changing it with a stock android one?
I kinda second this.
While there are numerous apps that act as lockscreen replacements, none of them actually do the job well. The one that comes closest to pure AOSP is Holo Locker (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobint.locker), but it's closer to ICS than it is to KitKat.
'Tis a shame since Sony's UI can actually be made to resemble AOSP, except for the single most seen screen on the phone -- the lockscreen (even the wallpaper can only be a static image ffs).

If you are on rooted your device then just delete the lockscreen apk and odex file from /system/app folder. now you are on stock lock screen.
I was looking for a way without using root.. I prefer wait for a root that doesn't lose DRM Keys..

Might I ask what the name of the lockscreen apk is? I found keyguard in priv-app but nothing of the sort under the app folder.
Have any other tips to make stock look like AOSP?

How did you make it work?
I tried deleting the Keyguard.apk and its .odex, that failed. Next, I tried an Xposed module but all I got from that was a bootloop.
Please, anyone?

If you don't use Pin or Pattern protection you can try disabling the lockscreen alltogether. The wallpaper thing was annoying me also. I've turned the thing off, works just fine to me.

I do prefer having a swipe lockscreen of some sort to place a widget (such as CLock) to be able to see things with a single push of a button, without really unlocking. Sony's way of doing lockscreens is just absurd, especially the way you can't set the background to match your homescreen. And those sparkles, ugh, don't even get me started.
Xperia Xposed let my live wallpaper show on lock screen
Tried many Xposed Xperia modules, all of them got me a bootloop.

The Keyguard.apk is the AOSP one so don't delete that, look for XperiaLockScreen.apk in the app folder and delete that.

I swear there is no XperiaLockScreen in there. And no, I didn't delete it, else I'd leave an .odex behind. Despite it missing, it's still working perfectly. Or, rather, as Sony intended it to work (which is, for me, far from perfect).
(See the attachment if you don't believe me -- I always leave .odex behind when I delete system apps just in case something goes wrong and I have to restore it from an earlier backup)
I absolutely love ACDisplay, similar to the motorola lock screen, and I really like the minimalist approach. I set it to show my background instead of the black screen and I think it looks great in combination with Tapet wallpaper app.

Can AcDisplay be set as the lockscreen (that is, can it be set to show itself even when there are no notifications)?
Having it wake up the screen will probably drain the battery as well, so unless there's a way to basically set it to act as a normal lockscreen, I'd avoid it.

Attach that XTP.apk or have a look at the res folders for any images that show what it might be for, they may have renamed it, or changed the way the Keyguard.apk works.

The XTP one is pretty much empty, no res folder, just the manifest and meta-inf. The keyguard is interesting though -- this is Sony's lockscreen!
Any chance replacing this with an older Xperia's Keyguard would work?
And to answer my own previous question -- AcDisplay can be made into the lockscreen. A damn good one, too, though I'd still like a system app.

They always have to make things that little bit more difficult it seems. You could try the old one for nothing, the attached one is a deodexed one from Z1C 157, can you attach yours, I'd like a look at that.

Yes you can set it to be as a normal lock screen. It works great, especially with double tap --> double tap to wake up (check clock or notifications) and again double tap to turn off the screen.
You can also set that notifications don't wake up the phone.

Thanks, I tried but it didn't work. For some reason, the status bar and navigation bar were disabled though. I'll post a link (or PM you) once I find a few minutes off.

Installed last night, works like a charm. Nice to see it's an Xposed module as well
Though I really do prefer KitKat's AOSP feel to this (WHERE IS CM11 DAMMIT).
Don't see a lot of Slovenes here -- hi! o/

I tried the Z3C on mine and the SystemUI crashed at startup so had to flash my backup, but at least thats a hint as to how to possibly make it work.
