This is my own compiled kernel for NEXUS ONE based on the latest source from stock git (http://android.git.kernel.org/)
The branch I use is: android-msm-2.6.35
As I am using my own compiled ROM (PureFroyo) daily, and I am using the stock Froyo camera, I cannot use the IR's kernel (as it is merged with 720p)
Therefore, this triggers my initiative to compile my own kernel. Referenced from intersectRaven's ; Wildmonks ; pershoot ; cyanogen and some other kernels, I have made various adjustments (merge as well). So, here are the features of this ROM:
- intersectRaven's suggested frequency table in acpuclock-qsd8x50.c
- UV to 950mV
- OC to 1152MHz
- All CPU power governors
- 21 MB memory hack (thanks to coolbho3k)
- Target for stock camera, no 720p camera
- No audio boost
- Some minor changes referenced from wildmonks and intersectRaven (thanks!)
- Wifi, Froyo portable hotspot and camera work perfectly
- Not HAVS, but SVS instead
- Battery life is good for my nexus one
- Best match with stock / AOSP ROM

Installation procedures are just like what you are flashing with any other kernels (please make backup first):
Instructions:
1.) Reboot to recovery and flash the update zip directly.
OR
Instructions for zImage and bcm4329.ko driver extracted from the update.zip(from command line):
1.) adb remount
2.) adb push bcm4329.ko /system/lib/modules
3.) adb reboot bootloader
4.) fastboot flash zimage zImage
5.) fastboot reboot

just flashed it on Geo's ROM it seems everything is fine just need a little more time for testing....
Edit : excellent with Geo's ROM
Rom become more responsive and snappy and battery life is little improved
Been running this kernel with a rooted stock FRG83 ROM for a day now. So far VERY NICE!
One thing...I seem to have a problem with WiFi cutting out for a couple seconds every minute or so when I'm in Airplane mode. I work in a basement and I use airplane mode to keep the radio from killing my battery.
I know this is probably somewhat unique to me, but thought I would let you know.

BTW, I hide the SSID of my wifi, and the encryption method is WPA2-PSK with AES. And when I connect my nexus one to laptop, there is no notification to ask me to mount the phone as a usb device or something like that. There should be an android, green or orange, depends on mounted or not, but I notice nothing happens when I connect.

Using Geo411's latest ROM I get no USB SD mount notification, anyone else having this issue? I am using the latest Korean radio ROM as well.

For those of you with USB mount and WiFi issues are you all using the latest Korean radio? Have you tried downgrading the radio and seeing if the issues are resolved?

Last 2-3 weeks a have this strange problem with my phone, when i turn on wifi, the box continiiusly loops ticking and unticking and goes on off without stopping.
I thought initially that this was a problem of the specific rom for Motorola Milestone. But when i installed the initial sbf of the phone, nothing changed :-(
Anyine experienced in the past this issue? Unfortunately this is a reason to change phone and i dont want to buy a new one now...

Have you tried installing a new rom?
WiFi - On/Off
I suspect it has something to do with the ROM/HW interface. I would do a complete wipe of your phone back to stock factory settings.
Does it do the same thing on the factory wipe?
Is your problem confined to 1 hotspot or WiFi device or all devices to attempt to attach to?
If the problem continues on the factory ROM and factory settings I would suspect a hardware issue.
ALSO you could try upgrading/downgrading your MODEM to a different one and see if that helps.

Have you tried switching ON the OFFLINE mode (Airplane mode) and then switch off OFFLINE mode?? It helps in my Photon...
Further you can try turning WiFi Hotspot On and then Off... Heard that this method also solves WiFi issues in some MoPhos....

Please provide some log files, when you turn of wifi: logcat and dmesg. You can get it using app like Quick System Info, or get them using adb.
Try doing this.
Go to Advanced wifi settings and uncheck "Use static IP" .

ioctl system calls fail with different errors. Ioctl is used for controlling the device, WiFi chip in your case. Errors mean that either driver is not ok but if you have original rom it shouldn't be the case, or device itself is not operational.
So probably your have a hardware failure.
You can also try with some unencrypted wifi, maybe the problem occurs in WPA mode only.

When i turn on Wifi for the first time it works very well but after i disabling the wifi it gives me error and i can't seem to being able to start it again.
the build is based on 2.3.5 and the kernel/boot image are from CM7 so is the drivers but i still don't see why it doesn't work. also i noticed CM7 doesn't load insmod in libhardware_legacy.so while the HTC Sense does so? maybe the "drivers" are interfacing?

I developed a native process that uses ScreenshotClient to capture the device screen ( rooted devices only )
I have a loop where ScreenshotClient does update() every cycle. everything works well until 4.3.
when I run it on 4.3 the first call to update succeeds, but in the second call the call result is -2 , and I get these erros in logcat:

Any idea what changed in 4.3 that causes this, or what these errors mean.
My wifi is totally dead, phone took too much drops and even logcat shows "E/WifiStateMachine: Failed to load driver" when trying to activate it. I had CM11 official and i upgraded to CM12.1 thinking it would be a software problem, but i got the same behavior.
But things gone worse on CM12.1, there's a bug in Android 5 that crash the system if an invalid wifi config is found, so i can't put the phone in standby because it reboots, error:

I see there's a fix for a leaking wifi state in the official S2 CM12.1 thread but this isn't my situation, is there a way to completely disable wifi? I tried the build.prop trick (delete wifi.interface and another) but i still have the wifi button in the dropdown menu, and still reboots on standby. Any suggestion?
