Best 2.1/2.2(if possible) rom avaliable? - Hero, G2 Touch Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am currently using Roufianos v1.1 rom on my gsm Htc Hero, but its not 100% stable. Im looking to find a fast, 100% stable, feature packed rom. I've tried villain 10 but had problems with that any suggestions?

Please post in General or QnA next time.

???? thats oooolldd

The best one is available at htcpedia. It is Pauls repack of the Taiwan update with some goodies that Benhaam added. Ridiculously fast and extremely stable. I've tried Rufianos and Villain 10 and both have their problems. Been using the one from htcpedia for 3 days now without one single problem. It's awesome.

Cronos Droid
Cronos is the best IMO. It's really fast and very stable. By far the best roms I have tried.
Feeyo is just uploading a new version 1.7 based on the official HTC release now which I think which might be up tonight.
Edit: It's been postponed til tomorrow. Still go with the 1.5.1 release its awesome and is still 2.1

feeyos cronos 1.7 has been delayed until tomorrow

definitely the best one 2.1 rom.. nothing added and not overclocked with no problems after 4-5 days using.

I hope someone will make one based on the official 2.1 for hero and removes all the non-sense (see what I did there? )

Best Rom for HTC Hero?

Hey Guys,
i just get my HTC Hero and i want to flash some nice roms. Off course, there is no best rom, but give my some "must flashed"- Roms
Whats your fave?
Greetz
Jonas
I have [3.0.1] AychTeeSee's Vanilla Cupcake ROM but you should only flash it if you want the original vanilla look or a REALY speeeeedy rom
I like TheAshMan's Defiance. Great rom using 2.1 Sense UI.
is it fast? like i said in my last post the rom that im using is realy fast so i dont really want to use a "slower" rom
Man meake a poll !!!
Me vote for BeHero 1.2.5
Which one have an outstanding battery life on the the eclair roms?
tbh, id say villian, teh development is healthy the rom is super fast and its the sense ui. Also, likely to have a nicer ui soon as was in 3.0. Check the thread out youll see the number of responses i think speaks for itself.

im currently using a 2.1 custom rom with sense. sense has a couple feautures that i like. but ive been keen to try cronos ginger 2.3 with super kernel
lemme know what you've tried.
kudos
Hey, i am using Elelinux 2.8 which is a fantastic room... hardly any force closes, great battery life and also.. its pretty nippy.. Angry Birds the game runs pretty neatly on it to.
u can even try the new 2.3 rom. sense based. it is a htc salsa rom ported to our hero n trust me it works just fine. few issues, but they don't matter, at least to me

I would rather say Salsasense has great potential but it doesn't work fine yet. Besides the force closes, it's pretty laggy when there is anything calculated in background and apps need more time to start. If that would get fixed, it would be a great rom.
Also have a think about why you want to do this. You're entering a world of geek, and the only ROM that's guaranteed not to have problems is the stock one. That said, you should have had an OTA update taking you at least to 2.1...
Go for the cronos gingerbread roms. They are stable and fast. And get enough updates.

I use Elelinux-7.1-Hero-v3.6 Android 2.3.7 and I am really happy. Everythings works, it is really fast and I got up to 2 days battery life (I use fly mode at night)
2.3.7 LiGux (Coopoui) (RC2.0) is also very fast and nicely themed by Lirasina.

Best ROM for everyday use?

Hi..Its maybe a repost but I'm starting this thread because lots of things changed into these ROMs since the old post.
So which ROM would you reccomend for everyday use?
I personally like CM a lot. But as its not stable yet I can't reccomend it yet.
Other than I like Aura & The Darkside ROM. Which one will you prefer actually?

I have been using CM7 for atleast two months now. FYI its quite stable with the newest Ba2tf build.

Agreed with CM7. The newer builds are rock solid.
The CM Weekly w FP is working great for me, really good battery life too.

Thanks!
Well my personal favorite is MIUI. Although it's not officially supported there are a few floating around. I couldn't say which is the most stable though. I'd like to know as well haha. I just came to Thunderbolt a few days ago so still newish to Thunderbolt

I know you said other than CM7, but CM7 builds by protek and liquid smooth roms v3.1 will get you a nice clean stock gingerbread rom. Also, liquid smooth roms v3.0 is good as well! Bad thing about miui is, mms does not work last I heard.
Try liguid 3.2 its small fast and highly customizeable. I get quad scores between 29 and 3200 at 1.5 ghz

The last stable cyanogen build from October (by slayher) is what I ran until I switched phones last week. Worked fine with no issues for me. Every other AOSP ROM is built off of it anyways and has the same RIL.

Most stable rom?

Hi all,
My cousins atrix has started playing up (keyboard crashes, browser force closes etc) and ive advised that he change roms. Ive been looking though this forum for the past hour or so and am surprised to see so many roms - you guys have so much choice! (Ive got an optimus black and weve got maybe about 4 roms which is nothing compared to you guys!)
Anyway my cousin is a bit of a noob so I dont want to install a rom that will cause problems. Which rom should I install on his atrix please?
Thanks
The most recent releases of CM7, including CM7.2 RC1 and the most current nightly releases, have been pretty stable for me. I couldn't tell you about the non-CM7 ROMs (i.e. the ones based on the stock Atrix ROM) as I haven't used one for quite a while. There are several so-called CM9 ROMs out (based on ICS), but IMHO they aren't stable enough if you rely heavily on your phone, though they are getting there.

Im using joker's cm9. Its actually stable enough to be used as a daily driver. Yes the rom is in beta so there are bugs like video recording/playback, multitouch and small probs here and there due to missing ics drivers.

I agree - If your cousin doesn't need the fingerprint reader or webtop go with CM7 for now till the devs get the issues worked out on CM9.
Another vote for CM7. Its absolutely rock solid, and the weekly builds have fingerprint scanner support. CM9 is pretty good, but as has been mentioned its missing a few features and does have a few bugs that prevent some from being able to use it as a daily driver.
CM7 RC1 is where it's at now, no issues whatsoever for me.
Anyone know what is the progress of webtop on CM7 or 9?
Instead of CM7, I'd reccomend Neutrino. Install GO Launcher EX, ICS theme for the launcher and system and you've got yourself the best GB ROM with ICS-look.

Useless things such as TTS, VPN and Languages have been removed to make the ROM smaller. You just gotta flash a few more tiny .zip's...
Neutrino is better than CM7 at the base level. I reccomend you flash Neutrino GT+ version and under/overclock the CPU according to your needs.

+1 ╰☆╮Neutrino ROM V2.6╰☆╮ ....it is the best for battery and performance in my view....if you need the blur (webtop)... all three of Nottach roms are great although he supports only NottachTrix4G....
+1 for CM7.
I'd recommend you CM7 with faux kernel.

For a first time custom rom flash I'd go with Nottachtrix, very stable and Aroma Installer makes it very easy to customize to your liking.

I flash ROMs like crazy and I have to say Neutrino is by far the greatest rom! So what if you have to flash a few zips....thats how he made such an amazing rom...He stripped it down to the basics and you add the stuff that you want. I use the GT version but underclock to 1.00GHz most of the time...Saves battery but if I need the power, its available to me. 2.7 is out now....it has a wifi bug on the GT and GT+ versions though. You have to reflash faux's kernal to fix. Otherwise just use EE version. Its plenty fast enough without overclock.
