I've only seen one other post for this battery fix, and its not all that popular and also the ppcgeeks download no longer works, so I will be incuding the file in this post.
Basically, someone came up with a battery fix for xdandroid, and it no longer stops at 70%, it goes all the way to 100% and is much more accurate. The only thing is, it kills wifi, but I don't use it so it doesn't bother me.
All you have to do is delete the zImage file you currently have, and copy and paste this file, and run android and your set
(Uhm, for some reason uploads are currently not working, so I will attempt to re-uploade the zImage tomorrow. I only posted this so I don't have to rewrite it -.-)
I tried the fix. The battery meter is indeed more accurate, but the system is not so stable as before.
With 06/01 version, I have never met dead status or restart. However, with this battery fix. I have 3 times in 5days.
take your own risk to try.

The batterie fix can be found in the faq. http://sites.google.com/site/androidport/updates/batterymeterfix
And it does not kill wifi anymore. Use the latest rootfs. And for the batterie fix download the zimage and the module.
Thank you, now I don't have to upload it xD

You are posting in a two year old thread, and in the RHOD forums. You would probably have better luck in the Raph forums.

Hey everyone. Great forum you got here. I just recently purchased the tmo vibrant and spent several hours unlocking it. Odin 3 got stuck at analyzing files, and clockworks wouldn't show files on my sd card.in my frustration, I deleted nvram.bin and somehow got the phone fully unlocked. I am quite satisfied with my setup of stock tmo 2.1 except my battery life is horrendous... No more than 3 hours of wifi usage for me. This is a used phone but in very good condition so I don't know if the battery is bad or my settings are wrong. My wifi is usually off, gps appears off, and my screen is on min brightness. Something is draining my battery.screen usage for the battery is about 66%. Is this a sign of an old battery?
My next question involves getting an upgrade to 2.2,to fix the gps issues and a debrand would be nice.what's the best way to do it? Odin doesnt even work on my xp computer so it could be a phone issue.
I would be grateful for a reply,i have learned so much about android over the past day through this awesome forum.
Thanks for reading.

Download Odin3 1.7
Thanks for the fast reply. Is there a specific rom you recommend since I'm scared of locking my phone by accident?
I'll give odin 1.7 a shot, maybe 1.8 (there are more vers?)
Also interested in getting skype working, is it simple in 2.2?

Well, most ROM's aren't flashed using Odin..
Most of them use ClockWorkMod (Rom Manager) from the market.
And you can't really ask me what one I would recommended because I would say my Axura lol
And I am pretty sure that Odin 1.70 is the latest..

How about my battery question? do you think it's just a damaged rom or should i seriously consider getting a new battery (I heard they aren't very expensive)
Got 2.2 on it without problems
No issues yet. Still worried about battery.

actually same performance with the 7004 version,
i only just notice that it improves my battery, i dont know if this works for others
I've found the solution, maybe.
hd2 to connect my power supply, turn off the system reboots itself, and the battery lasts 2 days.
but I want to test well.
if someone wants to try ...
i updated the rom ,turn off, the system reboots itself. turn off again. i put my batt in a box. now im wondering how long my battery life will be. mod please close this thread.

I also found a solution to battery drainage, although it is a bit different than those above and it lasts for 3 days now!
I found that if you boot into WP7, then launch Android ADB (YES, ANDROID ADB), then type:
connect /dev/wp7
rm batt_stat.dat
Remove the cable WITHOUT CLOSING ADB, reboot the device & run around your home holding your HD2 as high as you can. Believe it or not - this worked for me. Don't ask "why" or "how" - I don't know, I found this trick on some chineese forums.

A fully charged battery will not drop that quickly in two hours something is wrong .
Reflash the firmware or wait for release of finished 2.3.4 as i understand this is only a test release .

Please check your battery usage info in the settings. There is a very well known bug related to Wifi Sharing eating your battery, even if you did not enable Wifi Sharing.
If your phone gets hot, and battery drains very quickly (in 1-2 hours), this is most probably related to the Wifi Sharing bug.
You can freeze wifi sharing if you have a rooted device, or you will need to check your battery usage info from time to time(mostly when you feel your phone becomes hot even when it stays in your pocket) and force stop Wifi sharing if it starts to show up.
Hope this helps
If this is not the case with you, I do not have a clue

This is the "Question & Answers" section and is the correct place for this thread. The Development forum is for people releasing development work and should not be used to ask questions. The reason you can't post in there till you have 10 posts is in the hope that you'll understand what the forums are for by the time you can post in there.
When you can, please don't post questions in the development forum.
Thanks, and good luck with your problems

Was just an example. If I dial any mmi code, will get a message like: "mmi code invalid or inserted wrong".
Am I right that the new custom 2.3.4 ROM (Villain, Darky...) are not using a 2.3.4 Kernel only the 2.3.4 firmware and radio? So this might not improve battery life significantly since it is still an old Kernel.
The battery drain bug could therefore only be solved with a 2.3.4 Kernel.
I am new to Android, so are my assumptions right?

I was using LiteningRom for a couple of weeks and when I saw 2.3.4, I tried to update ROM asap. But I couldn't even flash it with Odin as the whole process freezes in the middle...
Few hours later, I achieved installing a 2.3.4 ROM (Infusion) and I'm on it since yesterday. As far as I can see, there's absolutely nothing better in battery management : AOS is still in top of battery usage after moderate usage.
With my SGS, 2.3.4 had solved battery drain, it seems with SGSII it's not the same. But as Schindler33 said, maybe it's because of the kernel.
Wait for the official firmware to come out over kiss and then we can all see if battery life is improved.
Yep, it seems the leaked version is really NOT a final one ^_^
Hope the final will solve this battery drain
If you want to try another flavor of ROM based off of ICS 4.04, AOKP MIlestone 6, try this:
RandomKing's RandomROM Falcon v 1.3
I like it and would not have known about it except that it showed up as a compatible ROM in GooManager.
NOTE!: I AM NOT THE DEVELOPER, NOR CAN I ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT IT. I'M JUST INFORMING THE COMMUNITY IT EXISTS.
I found it the same way and have been using it myself for about a week now . no problems the only thing i changed were the e-mail and contacts back to standard rather than inverted black and white . plus i like the ability to have sound with my boot animation an option that is not available with the regular Nightly or the AOKP&CM9Remix by SGA .
How does it compare to the other roms in term of smoothness and performance?
Just flashed this rom and I'm liking it.
Trebuchet should be taken out though if Nova launcher is included.
Ran AnTuTu OCd @ 1.78ghz and got a score of 7317 and the highest FPS on the men in armour was 57fps
After having the various CM9 nightlies I am trying out the 1.1 version of this ROM. So far so good... seems pretty snappy. I haven't found anything that doesn't work so far. I chose Nova as the default launcher (seemed to have come with Nova pre-installed?).
Question... how do you change the default email color scheme. Its hard to read. Thanks!

Give this ZIP a try in TWRP/CWM:
http://db.tt/Dp221gce
It's a universal inverted Gapps that I use in most of the ROMs I install on the TP. If need be, you could always extract the gmail APK from the ZIP and push it to /system (after changing permissions, of course).
Let me know if this helps you out - I'm curious about this build - and I would like to give it a go, too.

Thanks! The universal inverted GAPPs works great and solved the problem. Many thanks.
Btw, so far I have been able to run all apps I would before using the CM nightlies including youtube , Netflix. No lag at all between screens and everything things to work as fast as before. I believe the dev focuses on battery length but so far it seems to last about the same as my experience with most of the more recent nightlies. Unfortunately wifi is also about what I experienced under CM9 (and weaker than webOS).
I will stay with this a while and see if it continues to be problem free and if any apps have a prob under the new ROM.
Again, thanks for your help, and let me know if I can answer any more questions.

Goo is a decent website, and you can go to my space to download. Goo Manager can tell you when a new version is released, which I find pretty useful. 1.1 is currently the newest version, and I've finally updated the website to reflect the proper link. I agree, Goo Manager itself is a little slow and its easier to download straight from the site. I will not provide support outside of my page for this particular rom, but seeing more than 250 downloads on the latest version, I will continue to improve the rom whenever I can.

I gave this try and found out compared to cm9 9/30th it does have a higher battery drain while asleep.. ~-800 vs -45 avg
Both roms connect to my WiFi 5ghz
Other than that the rom seems decent to use if you don't mine the heavy battery drain.
Understand that I clear everything after I made my backup to try the rom, so to say it was on a nearly clean install.

Interesting. I just checked mine and while asleep mine ranged from a low of -43 mA to to an outlier high of -74 mA, and most of the between -46mA and -48mA. Once I wake it up it varies greatly... -122mA to -820mA, but I am guessing that is dependent on what I am doing (I was watching a lot of Clapton and Knopfler YouTubes) . Are these numbers more in line with what you were thinking RandomKing? Any other battery stat I can provide that might help?

Using Battery Monitor app. When I switch to %/hr state it appears to fluctuate between 0% to under 2% loss/hr. I'd guess it would average to around 1% per hour.
Btw I am pretty happy with battery on this ROM, not as good as webOS and definitely less than iOS but pretty good for Android and I think better than CM9. Now, if I could somehow I improve my wifi I'd be golden...

One thing to check, under wifi > advanced > wifi on all the time only when plugged in. Another easy and cheap fix is downloading RootDim from Play Store, which allows you to lower screen brightness way lower than stock. The TP has a very bright display so lowering it down to below 25% is still plenty bright. There are lots of other battery tweeks I am sure including apps that automate the process but the two I suggested are easy. Hope this helps!

From their website, but i need confirmation from people who have used it. I wonder what is really causing this battery drain. Is it the screen or what? I've even lowered my screen brightness. The phone uses same battery with the sensation but the sensation lasts much longer. I really need help! Something that works!

Even though the sensation battery does work on the amaze, it is smaller than stock amaze battery. Secondly, are you on the latest updated radio and base build? What ROM are you running? If you want decent battery life then try speedrom, miui (older version haven't tried the new one), sense 4 ROM and cm10 has decent battery life as well given you have the right settings enabled. If you keep your 4g data connection on all the time then you will end up with horrendous battery life on any ROM; good luck
Don't get mugen, go to eBay and get EC battery (1900mA). I got a package that included 2 EC branded batteries and a separate dock charger (basically you can charge one battery while using the other in phone) for only 16 bucks and battery life is way better than the stock on these cheap Chinese batteries (I get anywhere between 3 to 3 1/2 hours of screen on time on average and a total time of around 16-17 hours with that kind of usage which is amazing and I have been using these batteries for about 6 months)

thanks for your help.. before i proceed, let me explain exactly how the battery drain happens....
when i charge it up to 100%, immediately i unplug it and leave it for 5 minutes without use, it goes down to 96%, and soon goes down to 89% within another few minutes and continues that way.. when am using the phone, the battery drain is even worse. what do you think? should i still proceed with your method?

The latest OTA update from tmobile did a lot of optimization for our Rom. Battery sees an improvement. Follow my guide and report back. ARHD 4.0 is based off of the latest OTA and I can't complain.
