ok i have this issue on my htc hd2 im trying to resolve.
i installed a landscape mode cab in order to enable my phone to be used in landscape. when i installed it it didn't work so i uninstalled it. after i restarted my phone nothing was set as a wall paper. so i restarted my phone again changed the wallpaper and nothing happened....the screen just stood black and it says that supposedly there's a wallpaper set up but nothing is there.....its all black.
Can someone please help me out and tell me how i can fix this issue, i would really appreciate it.
Thanks =)
Do you use Cookies Home Tab and CHTEditor? If so try installing or reinstalling the latest version of Cookies Home Tab, I think it's version 1.8.5

what did you installed for landscape, rotate screen? if not I would suggest uninstall whatever .cab you put on the phone, soft reset and look for rotatescreen and use that, energy roms come with it already set up with a long press send key to rotate to landscape. If you already uninstalled it and your still having the wallpaper issue , I suggest a hard reset, and go from there.
Sorry for answering to all you guys late, but i already found my solution thanks alot though
graciously provide the solution (and the app name you installed for landscape) support so others encountering this problem can benefit as well
Mod. edit: not accessories related, moved to q&a

Can anyone assist with a couple of questions I have:
1. Since installing all the various bits of software on my IIi the screen rotation icon has disappeared from the bottom right of the today screen. Is there a way to get it back?
2. Because of the above, I re programme the camera, button 3 to rotate the screen, however it seems to default back to Camera after a soft reset. Is this a know problem?
Cheers

We have been discussing this over on TekGuru. It is a problem others are experiencing as well and so far no one has figured out a way to get it back or what causes it to disapear. Presumably you still have the screen rotation icon on your O2 Active Screen.
If you use or decide to use SPB Pocket Plus, you can use it to put screen rotation icons on your Today Screen.
The other thing to do is to assign it to a hardware button as yu have done. I assigned it to the calendar button when holding it down (I am using Vito's ButtonMapper which allows each hardware button to do two different functions).
It does not default back to the original setting after a soft reset but it may be that the camera button works in a different way.
Thanks for the update, my only thought on this is that it seemed to disappear after I added the additional software from the o2 CDROM.
Hopefully this will be fixed in the next ROM update, which hopefully will include Blackberry support
Hey everyone! First post here
I tried to root my x10 mini pro with z4root 1.3 and chose the temporary root just to test it out before permanently installing it. I went through with it and then I started getting all these popup's saying random applications are crashing until I got a message that the homescreen crashed.. after that I could do nothing but turn off the phone by taking out the battery and starting it up again. And so it booted and then it just got stuck in a loop of booting up as it seemed it had trouble loading the homescreen. Until finally the sony ericsson logo stayed on for a few minutes and then slowly the homescreen loaded up and the whole phone started to load up. With a few applications crashing along the way. And my applications being all over the place in the menu screens and my contacts dissapearing (my msgs are still there) and my phone forgetting my google account login..
So my question is where did I got wrong when I was rooting it?
And how do I change my homescreen? (as it use to be a gradient blue, but now is black on the top and fades into blue at the bottom. it's weird though as the settings menu still has the correct blue colour but the homescreen doesn't...)
And why did all these things get affected by z4root?
(turned out to be a few questions )

reflash/repair your phone with Sony Ericsson Update Service(SEUS)
if you're still on 1.6 after the repair, use Universal Androot instead...
Thanks for the reply.
Will try that
is SEUS part of PC companion? if not how can I get SEUS?
And how can I get that default wallpaper back, I tried searching through the whole sd card to no avail :/ I find it annoying having a different wallpaper to the background of the setting screens. Does anyone know where I can find it or how I can get this default image?
Thanks in advance

Here you go... http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/sup...ailed/updateservice/xperiax10mini?cc=gb&lc=en
Thank you, got it updated to 2.1 successfully
OK, so I successfully installed the ROM. It works fine and all until I actually use openscript on the terminal. For example, I wanted to change CPU frequency. I changed it, quit the terminal, and checked the frequency in system information. It was successful. But After about a minute my screen suddenly locked and here is the current situation. The locking screen works fine (I had the pattern lock), I can even open emergency calls. But when I unlock it, the only thing I see is the notification bar (which works btw, clock, wifi , all the icons are there, I can slide it down and up and so on). Everything else is just black. The buttons work - I can quit the notification tab buy clicking back or home or something like that. But I dont see my home screen, menu, buttons - nothing. I can lock it again, and it works fine again in the lock screen but afterwards same black screen again. Reboot does not work.
So I reinstalled the rom. Immediately after installing changed the frequency and waited for a bit. Everything was fine. I installed all the crap I usually have and kept using the phone. But the next day, I got annoyed by the music player and decided to change it again via the openscript. Same thing happened. And this is where I am stuck right now (actually this is already the third time I have this problem in 3 days and it's my third reinstall of the rom, but the first one also happened after using openscript to change frequency.)
So is there a way to fix this without reinstalling the rom again, cause I've customized the **** out of it and I don't wanna do it again. If no, how can I prevent this in the future?
P.S. If this helps, when rebooting, I hear the sound before the android splash screen which is sometimes skipped and sometimes shown for an unusually short time.
P.P.S. Also, I have the apps2sd flashed.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Got same problem
Hi,
Even I got same problem when I tried to change boot animation. Just blank screen.
But i realised it is due to, launcher app is not initiated. So tried a trick which worked indeed
Trick is when u are in a blank screen, click "HOME" button which will pop u up the list of launchers u have. Click One of them though they r not visible
Voilaa!!! Your screen is back

hi everybody,
when installed quick lock widget into GSIII from market it worked fine at first day:fingers-crossed: but later when i press on the icon the phone does not lock as usual way but the screen blinks twice and then stay lock screen illuminated until display off time pass:silly:
i tried several other widgets from market but the same happen does anybody have an idea what happened
i would appreciate your help and thanks in advance
Nobody knows about this issue
my old 'screen off and lock' widget had the same problem, must be something on the S3 firmware that all the screen lock widgets are incompatible with
i've not yet tried to find one that works, using the power button for now
*i think this one might work because it does not act as a device administrator but just puts the display off after 5 seconds*

I don't know if this is the right area but here it goes.
The area where the software buttons are located are not being affected by Twilight anymore. I don't know if the problem is with Twilight per se or something else, but I do know the problem appeared right after I tried using Muzei, I was messing around with it, seemed like a good app but I was enjoying the wallpaper I was previously using, but when I went back to it this glitch appeared, I'll link a screenshot of the phone that better illustrates it.
http://imgur.com/chnlK2K
On the lock screen it seems to work without problems:

I know it's a minor bug but it's one of those little things that can be very annoying.
I've already tried clearing the data both from Twilight and Muzei, and removing and re-installing them, did not work.
I don't know if it matters but I messed around with the blur and dim settings on Muzei that first time I used it, although since clearing the data and re-installing it they are back to default. Also, the problem persists with other wallpapers, even with the Muzei ones.
Also, using a Motorola Moto G with KitKat, not rooted and stock rom and launcher.
Anyone ?
I really wish I wouldn't have to make a factory reset just because of this but it's really annoying.
Twilight has never covered the software buttons for me on my Moto G. I switched to EasyEyes and it seems to work fine, the brightness of the buttons doesn't seem to change but at least it doesn't look nearly as wrong anymore.
I've had the same thing appear today. Bar at bottom of screen with software buttons undimmed by twilight. No new apps installed & not using Muzei. Phone is Oneplus 2.
