and was wondering if someone has the cab for completely clear on the home screen ..I just want the clock and my hd background...nothing else but my transparent slider

Install CHT and make it look like you want it. You can remove everything and keep the clock.

and im assuming you mean no top or bottom curtains,no clock panel ect.,if so this should remove all of it leaving just the clock wallpaper

Whenever I select a text box or a flash item in the browser is flashes a yellow color.
I hate it and i want it to leave! It seems like the item is freezing and it is ugly.
Can it be removed somehow? I believe it can on be done the hard way!

wrong section. but to answer your question, flash a theme that changes the colors in the web browsing...
Is it a theme thing? I'm sorry I thought that it was something deeper.
It's not only the browser but also the text boxes.
i have to disagree to you guys. afaik this has nothing to do with themes, it's just the yellow border which marks links and everything else in the browser. it's right in the development board. i can understand that you don't like it, i personally don't really care about it...
i'm pretty sure this can be done by any developer. but not by me, my android skills are very weak
maybe some dev picks this up...
This is definitely a theme issue. You need to edit a. 9.png, either in framework-res or the Browser.apk. Those are a huge pain to edit, but you can change the color, or make it transparent if you want to get rid of it altogether. I'm no themer, but I think if it's totally transparent you can cheat and skip the complicated part of preparing the. 9.png before you push it. Or you might be able to just delete it altogether. I'm sure if you post this over in that section you'll find an answer from somebody who knows better than me.

Hey, dont kno if you have this one already, but on the thread below you can grab the pink android battery icon, its a start!

Just open pack's battery mod in 7zip and go to /framework/ then double click the framework-res.apk. Then click through /res/drawrable-hdpi-v4/ . This will bring you to a bunch of pngs. Extract them all. These are all the files you need to theme your phone. You can go through and edit each one, then drag and drop them back onto the 7zip window showing all the pngs. Then just close it out. It'll ask if you want to update the original archive. Say "Yes", and then just flash like normal. There are a couple of things to remember. All image sizes have to be the same. If the status bar background is 480x86 then that's the size it has to be. Also remember to keep the file names the same. Don't change any of the xml files. And always do a Nandroid before flashing. I've done this before to change my status bar and notification drawer background. But you can never be too careful. Hope this helps!

There really isn't any way to make this super simple. It really isn't that difficult, on a scale of 1-5 it's a 3. The only thing that makes it suck is the time it takes to alter all the files. That's why I don't just do it myself and upload it. The key to making this work is time! As long as you sit down with an afternoon of free time you shouldn't have any troubles getting this to work.

@Iriscience thanks for always looking out Ive seen you help out on my threads a lot so I just wanted to say thanks for that... just a tip though when exchanging files like your were saying to do. You need to make sure the new file is that exact same properties as the old. Different name, size, ect will lead to either boot loops or mass force closes when the device boots
Anytime pack! You do so much for this community! The least my broke ass can do is give some advice here and there. And good call on the name and size. I knew the name would cause problems, but I didn't know the size would too. That is good to know. Especially since I'm going to try a personal theme for CM7.

Im still very n00b to android but off the top of my head im thinking about the possibility of getting into the touchwiz files and making the page indicator graphics transparent.
There's probably another, more efficient way than that but..... .
I've no idea if that's possible but I would certainly hope so. Ill be looking into theming this thing when I get my sgs2 and if I have any luck ill let you know.

I did it....
I dont know if there are any differences between the touchwiz apks in different ROMS but to be on the safe side, upload the file "TouchWiz30Launcher.apk" from "/system/app" for me and I will get rid of that pesky page indicator for you.
Its not completely removed, it still works if you long press on it, its just invisible.

Afraid not. They are called into play by a line of code somewhere.
They can be disabled in the same way you would disable the names of apps displayed under the icons our another item of text. Its just a matter of finding the right line to tweak.

Hello world. Quick question on the systemui.apk....I noticed my sprint cdma has a ton of unused png files in there for Verizon and stuff. I'm assuming its safe to remove those? Seems cheap to just dump extra crap on phones that hit multiple carriers but I'm sure it makes sense from their angle. I'm away from the house and need my phone up so I can't just nand and test just yet. Any input?
I've done a few quick "first attempt png mods" in there but I wanted to ask before I gut all the extras and do my full theme now that i'm comfortable. I'll share the quick icon replacements i've done for now in a link below (spent maybe 15m on em today so pardon minor imperfections).

Alright, so first question, is it OK to remove the unused pngs.
Yes. Kinda.
If you remove them without editing the associated xml you will get compile errors. So in theory you could just extract the apk and remove them. Or, decompile and edit the xmls as well as remove the pngs.
As far as removing the gps off icon from being displayed, it's in an xml. Don't know of a tutorial for it, just do some file surfing
I just started theming myself, it's pretty rewarding making your phone look like you want it to, huh?

To reply to the OP, without quoting that bigassed thing: there aren't enough of the "other carrier" pngs to make a difference, so just leave them, IMHO. They're not gonna hinder performance or space issues really.

Thanks for the input guys. It is very rewarding to have your phone display things you create and want to see! Honestly once you get past the ramp up time to figure out what to do and how to do it...it can be done very quickly (at least individual changes that is). My biggest problem is trying to think of what I want to do for my daily driver. Its cool enough being able to place your custom images but I dont want it to be a hodge-podge of individual "cool things" but rather look as if they were all selected intentionally. Maybe I'm to anal ... which leads me to the next post:
