Hi, there.
Recently I experienced an odd thing on my HD2 which's using RSTG rom.
Among apps in my HD2, not in all but in some apps, I guess, app disappeared
in a sudden after a while when it was minimized.
For example, I ran mdict app for using dictionary and opened another english txt
file. And then, when I met a word to check out, I found myself there was no
mdict app. It just disappeared even if I didn't close it.
Do you have any experience like this? If so, how did you solve it?
I can't find any clue for this problem.

Every time I try and run the people application it force closes. This means trying to call some one I not got in my recent contacts is impossible. Anyone else had this issue? Cheers
This seems to be fixed by killing all processes in a task manager. Which seems off as a restart did not help.
I had the same problem when I first copied my contacts across to the new HTC Hero using Funambol. After some miserable hours with the new machine I decided that it was some corruption in the contact data causing the problem. So I did a factory reset to get rid of them again and it was fine again.
Then I read the manual and discovered HTC Sync this copied the same contacts across direct from Outlook and I have never seen the problem again - 1 month happy Hero using since then.
Hey all, tried searching for this but found no one else having this issue. I have an issue when sending a text/email or using the keyboard. Randomly while using the spacebar, the spacebar will move approximately 10 spaces and then close out of the message. It may be associated with the common Vibrant lag- that could be whats causing it. It happens with all keyboard apps - swipe, better, stock android and swiftkey. Anyone else having this issue? Its hard to describe..
Right now I have stock vibrant. Got it bricked during the ji6 update and I'll root and modify it after 2.2 is out. My PC is old and couldnt handle the odin software!
Thanks for all your help everyone!
has anyone come up with a fix for the new market? Mine just keeps force closing. I need my market back. HELP! PLEASE! I've tried everything and nothing works. I searched the forums and tried all the information given in the those post and got no change. I would try just about anything at this point. I even deleted my browser as suggested by another senior member. nothing is working. any suggestions?
Might help to let us know what firmware you're running.
I've never had any problems with the current Market running Brilliant Corners.
Settings/languages and keyboard/ and set default language to English. Problem solved for me. Found that solution by searching these forums. Might depend on what ROM you are using. I'm on CM7.

Wow, that worked for me. I changed the language from some other English to English United States and now the Market doesn't force close.
Btw - I'm on Vegan 7.0.0
not just a firmware problem
I'm running C/CV6 but I've read through these forums several times over the last few days and I've learned one thing for sure. It's not a firmware problem. It's a problem in the update process itself I believe. I'm not a programmer by any means but after reading severals posts regarding this problem, I was able to see that this issue is hitting all the different ROMs across the board. So if it was a ROM issue then it would be confined to just those users. The only thing in common between all users is that their market was working fine, they got the update, and now their market force closes. I have done several different things trying to repair the problem, but was unsuccessful at resolving it. I tried the whole default English language thing in my settings. Didn't work. I deleted my Dolphin browser. Didn't work. I cleared the market cache. Didn't work. I unistalled the update. Didn't work. Each time I made a change, I restarted the tablet so that the changes may take effect. I would really like to get this working. I was about to put some of those classic game emulators on my tablet and some games but I don't wantto go to all the trouble in case I have to wipe the whole tablet and start over entirely. I'd rather not do that either if I don't have to. Thanks for any help guys, all suggestions at this point are welcome.
UPDATE: I just turned my tablet on and the market is now working but it' still the old version. I imagine once it updates, it will start doing this crap again.
keyboard language
I changed my keyboard to "English US" and now my market works again.
I'm on gtabcomb 3.3 bl1.2
Thanks for this help.
Recently, my keyboard has been acting crazy. Sometimes, when I attempt to type something, the letters appear in the suggested words area but nothing appears in the field in which I'm typing. I've tried switching between keyboards as a quick fix as some have recommended online but that has not worked for me. The only way I've been able to get my keyboard working again has been to reboot my phone which is a real PITA! Any solutions out there?
Also, whenever my keyboard is not working, I am also unable to make phone calls. When I click a contact's number, it populates the dialer but nothing else happens. This problem requires a reboot too. Anyone else experience this?
All of this strange behavior started within the last month or two and I don't know what happened. I've just wiped my phone and guess what? It just happened again! Please help.
I used to experience that too once in a while. It drove me crazy.
If you Google it, you'll find that it's a common issue inherent with Android devices. I believe it's related to a memory issue.
To minimize occurrences, I installed an auto memory manager. Recently, I also installed Zep's memory scripts too. Haven't had it occur since installing both (the AAM may be all you really need - available on the Market).
Hope this helps,
Flipper

Ahh... that makes sense. I believe my problems may have started after I uninstalled the "AutoKiller Memory Optimizer" app. Is the "Auto Memory Manager" app a better program to use? Pros and cons?
Photon already has it's own Automatic Task Killer, one that is not an app that you can edit or change settings. You are better off without one buddy.

I agree... sort of.

I sort of agree with deedscreen's post. Yes, the Photon does already have an automatic task killer and most of the time, it does work well. However, it doesn't work flawlessly all the time and many Photon users experiencing the keyboard lag is enough evidence to substantiate that it isn't perfect.
Now, my understanding is that an automatic memory manager is distinctly different from an automatic task killer. The memory manager supposedly works differently (I'm no developer so I'm not even going to try and explain).
Whether Auto Memory Manager is better than Auto Memory Optimizer, I can't say. I'm guessing they both work the same way so try both and see which one resolves your problems. All I know is that after installing AMM, I saw less occurrences of the keyboard lag problem popping up.
Good luck.
Hi, I don't know if anyone here uses ChompSMS in place of the stock messaging app. I use it so I can use emojis. Okay, onto my question. Every time I take a picture, ChompSMS force closes on me. Anyone else have this problem/know of a fix?
I noticed this issue with a lot of applications out there.
I think its due to a compatibility issue. Since the Note 2 is still new to verizon. I expect to see a update to said applications here shortly.
