since the Euro TP2 and Tilt 2 are very identical in terms of cosmetic looks, is it possible to replace the Tilt 2 housing with the Euro TP2 housing? cuz im sure the PTT button wouldnt be a big deal since i wont need it

Instead of buying the housing for it just buy a dummy phone from ebay or whatever and use that housing. Its much cheaper that way.

Why wont it do it?
the panels dont have the necessary openings to house the components... there aren't even any holes for the screws... the only useble parts woulb be the front cover, and maybe the keypad...
WING
Just tell me how to take it apart!!!!!!!!!

you'll find the herald service manual along with many other htc phones on this site...but for all who don't care to search here ya go...just make sure you know what you're doing. It's cheaper to pay a technician to change housing or a part than to buy a new phone.
cheers
i too was searching for this as owning a supposed herald is great in my book over owning a common wing
none the less they are quite different, main peices are the buttons and the camera flash differ to the point where i dont think the housing will work
I see the housings avail..but no one has the Heralds buttons avail.
It may not work... one the hardware buttons are different, two the flashing leds on the speaker are a little more spread out (this may be able to be fixed depending on how the internals are set up). Other than that it may work if you can find the hardware buttons from a herald/p4350. Best of luck to you!
methinks the wing and the herald are technically two different models because of things like the leds.
Herald- HTC P4350
Atlas- T-Mobile Wing
t-wing/herald
I dissagre..Ive replaced my wing screen twice and it seems to me itll work fine. the key and kamera will fit ok, its just the lights you may or may not loose. it depens on the heralds top plate.
So let me get this straight... i r a little confused
The attached jpeg down there wouldn't work if I wanted to take that housing and use it on my wing?
So If I install a Tmowing mainboard on a Herald it will work??
they have the full housing on ebay including buttons.
I found different housings for my T-mobile Wing. The question is how I can take it apart? All of the sellers say it doesn't come with any instructions!
This is the black housing that I've found : T-mobile wing black housing
I also found P4350 housing but I'm not sure it fits on Wing or not. HTC P4350 Housing
Hello friends... Is this possible? By put Tmo Wing mainboard on HTC P4350 Herald housing??
I know both devices are the same thing. Even keyboard, Screen and that stuff... Ive seen backside of both devices, are fully similar but I dont know exactly if Tmobilewing Mainboard can be switched to Herald's housing
Thanks for your answers
I know that there is a difference in the front buttons... i dont know if they are layed out differently or if they are just a different shape.
T-Mobile bougt some.. well more then enough.. Herald's and ripped the case apart. Then they put their own case on it.
what im trying to say is that the mainboard of a Wing actually is a Herald mainbord.
The only thing that's different is the casing.
Are there any rubberized battery covers/housings that will fit the AT&T Tilt2? I need something with a little more grip but dont want to add any more size to the phone. Would any of these replacement housings add any more grip?

My understanding was that all of the GSM versions of the phone have the same body, except for the front camera and the PTT button. Luckily for us, the front camera is in the part of the phone that us Tilt 2 owners get covered up. The PTT button, however, will be a problem.
Hi,
Can anyone tell me what type of housing must I purchased to change completely my tilt2's housing? There are couple of housing types on ebay and I'm really lost in all these. Anyone has experience changing a Tilt2 housing to a Tilt2/Sprint/Tmob/Verizon/European Touch pro2 - please give some advice?
Thank you very much.
bump
would like to know as well have t-mobile version and would like to change the housing to maybe a sprint or generic htc.
Not sure what you mean by housing. All I can find on eBay is cases and plastic covers. These are designed to go over the phone, not replace anything. As far as these go, the Tilt 2 has a button the TP2 does not have, so you would need one that is specific to a Tilt 2. FYI, I bought one of the clear covers and they are junk. Not only do they make the phone much bigger (too big to fit in my leather case), but they make the phone much more combersome to operate. The top half is flimsy and gets in the way of accessing any screen elements near the edge like scroll bars and the TM button.
Try here http://cnn.cn/shop/touch-pro2-rhodium-c-277_881.html
the sprint/verizon housing won't fit on the gsm variants (at&t, tmobile, etc) because they are different.
dont know about interchangeability between the gsm variants other than if you put a european front housing on a US one, you'll have a whole where the front facing camera goes.
Has anyone actually replaced their housing with one of these?
I've been looking at one of these <link was supposed to go in here but for some reason it's not letting me> but not sure how hard it'll be to pull the TP2 apart...
It's at eoem.cc under the TP2 (Black & Red Housing Set)
Has anyone actually replaced their housing with one of these or the previously mentioned one?
Any ideas?
Cheers
Troy

HTC has offered at least three versions for worldwide market.
One as GSM vesion - you have checked one min-USB on mobile bottom
One as T-mobile version - you have found overall outlook difference from Sprint, AT&T and Verizon. Don't think T-Mobile housing applying into Sprint, At&T and Verizon.
One as CDMA version - for Sprint difference from GSM, you can find USB section to be difference.
In sum, all of housing are clearly defined service providers. However, somer parts between AT&T Sprint and Verizon can apply for each others, except T-Mobile.
A Verizon case fits the Tilt 2 with exception of PTT button cutout missing. Going with thin hard plastic rubberized coated case ($5 eBay from ittrimming's Verizon case) and cutting slot for button easy task.
Hi there!
I've a T-Mobile Touch Pro 2 that is quite beat up & I want to replace the whole housing.
Problem is where I'm living right now, the T-Mobile housing costs double of the standard Touch Pro 2 housing.
Is it possible to fit the motherboard, flex cable & LCD panel of the T-Mobile onto a HTC Touch Pro 2 casing with the power button?
I would need the touch screen & call/navigation buttons as well.
Please advise me if you know anything about this.
Thanks!
