HD2 rom without HTC sense?? - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
Are there any roms without HTC sense for HD2?
I am not using HTC sense anyway, and more free space would be nicer.
Thanks

NRGZ28 also has a Titanium build and standard builds that don't have Sense built in.

[Q] Newbie question about Rooting & Roms?

Since it has been made official by Verizon not to update the Eris to Froyo I am now looking into rooting and using a custom Rom for my daughters Eris. What I need to know is are there any Roms out there that would still give you access to the HTC Sense widgets or one that allows you to still take advantage of HTC Sense the way it is currently on the phone? What can I say, she really loves there widgets and stuff!
None of the froyo roms incorporate HTC Sense. A great rom to look at is XTR SENSE. it's a 2.1 rom and is very fast and has all the glory of the HTC synch and Widgets.

Another option would be to use KaosFroyo and download beautiful widets. That can give you sense like widets.

+1, with the addition of launcher pro plus to get even more of the look. It has similar people, message widgets plus some more and you can even alter the dock to look like sense.
There is one or two devs that are working on a froyo sense rom but progress is slow going because of how much sense is integrated with the rest of the framework. If you want froyo I would use kaosfroyo or if you still want 2.1 the Ares rom works great. I would also use beautiful widgets with any of the froyo ROMs. Make sure you go through the threads and understand what you are getting into with rooting and using custom ROMs.

+1 for xtrSENSE
I chose v4.5 as my first custom rom and so far it's awesome. No problems getting it up and running, setting a stable overclock, and enjoying HTC Sense features.

Sense HD?

Hi
I am only getting this phone because it is the best specification phone I haven't tried the touch Whizzo but HTC make the best software but not phones unfortunately
So I am asking will any1 be able to port sense HD?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Well I've made a Sense theme for CM7, so as soon as the Galaxy S2 gets CM7, which I'm sure will happen fast, you can use the theme on it... far easier than porting a sense rom. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=11660869
edit: then again, you still won't have sense app enhancements and stuff, but something is better than nothing right?
why does everyone want this.. the phne is not even out yet.. if you really want sense go buy a htc phone ad quit whinning.
thanks for the theme,
and yeah i do have a htc phone but this samsung galaxy s 2 has the best specs than any htc phone so this phone combined with htc sense will be a beast!
Does any one think this can happen?

Sense is overrated.
Yes you should be able to use HTCs Sence UI because Exynos is using NEON whereas Tegra2 doesnt.
Depends which 1 phones 4 u supplies because there are to versions

Meh, I was never too fond of Sense. Using my friend's Inspire for a few minutes though, I found that it was nicer than all of the other stock launchers.
I didn't like not being able to edit the total number of screens though.
I too, am interested in this. It gives people options so why not port Sense over? I want to see whether they can port all those cool features over like flipping their phone over to silence a call or ringing louder in a bag.
What about sense 3.0 the sgs2 with the new sense will be amazing

No please not the disney version of sense.
Don't get me wrong, but those colors on the sensation....brrrr..... welcome to disney.
I would really love to see a Sense port but it will be very hard to port it... the only successful ports are for devices with identical specs - example Sense from Desire on Nexus One...
There was a port for the Galaxy S but it had too much things that don't work and were very hard to solve (as Sense and drivers are not open source)...
Loved sense on windows mobile especially combined with the white GTX theme on my hd2,
but can't say I'm a big fan of it on android. Weird, I know, or maybe not so weird,
since I like a minimal clean look better, not screens cluttered with widgets.
Am tied in between in getting a sensation or sgs2 hardware wise galaxy s 2 wins but HTC sense is far better than touch wiz that's why we need a port

I'd like to see a sense port. However only for the sake of having a bigger variety of roms to flash.
I found that when I had my Inspire that Sense was way to bloated for me. I gave it a fair shot but for now I prefer TW over Sense. But AOSP > Any carrier software.
I would just stick with TouchWiz or go for AOSP if possible. Sense looks cool and all, but a port is as easy as it seems. More so, theming will be the solution for time being.

Count me in!
That's a wonderful news. I love sense. Hardly can wait.
I only use SD sense builds and there are not so many of them. Most either do not boot on my phone or too laggy, data keeps falling off or have other issues. GB roms seem ok but they all lack sense. I can't wait for a GB sense version of SD build. Somebody, please, start working on it.
Yes I would love to see Desire HD s Gingerbread with the EVO 3d sense function that would be really cool for a SD build there without maglr boots also the basic SD card boot.... I would try maglr but my computer is down and out so I can only do SD builds for now

Ps Yess we do need more SD builds with sense indeed

Hello people, the HD2 can run the sense that have the evo 3D with all that animations..?
Hardly can wait.
Wonderful news. I love sense. Hardly can wait.
i love sense, cant wait for it
Is it ready for test?
...looking forward to try
I would love to see a good Gingerbread SD built.
Definately count me in on this
I don't think HD2 is capable of runing sense 3.0, but DHD sense on GB is possible.

??? This isn't Sense 3.0 - it is Sense 2.1 which AFAIK is the latest version of Sense. If you are talking about Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) then again this is a tablet OS but is already being ported for HD2 NAND - look in the NAND forum. This build is Android 2.3.2 (again AFAIK) and latest CM7 builds are 2.3.3
I for one cannot wait for a GB build with Sense 2.1, preferably on SD but if pushed it may just be what makes me finally switch to NAND on my phone. If only iGo for Android was as good as Primo for WinMo I'd be gone today
HEY IT WOULD BE NICE TO SEE A GINGERBREAD SENSE 2.1 SD BUILD BUT ON THIS SITE I DON'T THINK ANYBODY GONNA MAKE THIS FOR US WITCH SUCKS SMH EVERYBODY TALKING NAND THIS AND NAND THAT SMH.. WHAT ABOUT THOSE OF US THAT MAY NOT HAVE A COMPUTER WORKING RIGHT NOW TO USE MAGLR /NAND I'VE BEEN USING THIS XDA APP TO DOWNLOAD NEW SD BUILDS I'M ABLE TO MANUALLY CHANGE MY SD BUILDS ANYTIME I WANT TROUGH MY HD2 ... PLEASE DEV MAKE MORE SD BUILDS PLEASE.... THANX

Is a non-Sense ROM possible/likely?

I'm running CM7 on my HTC Incredible and don't miss Sense at all. In fact, I like not having it. Any chance (short of CM 9) that we'll get a ROM for the Flyer that is purer than what HTC releases?
You could make one your self by taking out seperate HTC apps, such as the launcher and such. THen you could add stock replacements from another ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1393904
This Rom has both sense and stock honeycomb launchers. If you default to stock the ui is very much a non sense feel. Less the lock screen

Sense vs. No sense

Hey all,
I just wanted to gather everyones opinions on Sense 4+ vs an ONE X+ without sense. What has been your reason to desense or keep sense on your device? I'm asking for opinions here because I want to see what the main difference is between the two and I want you're input in the subject. Thanks!
Sent from my HTC One X+ using Tapatalk 2
ATT X+'s have no choice but to stay on sense right now
Pure Vanilla is awesome
Sense is not bad at all comparing to tochwiz skin but pure vanilla is soo fast and soo sweet..........!!!!!!!!!!!
I believe its a truly personal choice.
On my DS - I always used AOKP ROM or other AOSP based ROMs...
But as of now - I have no issues with Sense ROMs on HOX+ .... It has enough muscle and RAM to chew up whatever Sense throws at it. And you can't deny the fact that Senese IS an eyecandy .
Never faced any lag or anything in any of the Sense based ROMs I have tried on my HOX+...

I thought. Is it because the ATT version doesn't have S OFF yet? I don't mind sense. I just wanted input. I wanna try pure vanilla one day. Google nexus don't really catch my eye tho. HTC all the way!

None of the X+'s have S-OFF and it's an issue with incall routing (mic and earpiece not activating during phone call)
otherwise you guys would have had a rom months ago
not so long ago i ve found a "desensing" thing in an other HTC device's forum (here on XDA) but i can't remember the program s name nor the device s name... :/ maybe Desire S (or HD) i used twice on Sense 4+ cause it was kinda laggy, after it was prety smooth!
the program had the abbility to erase some sense or all of it and maybe a third possibility, it was blue and whit and had to be run via recovery.
if anybody knows this [email protected] name let me know!!!

I've had my One X+(Int) since January and kept it with sense until a WK ago using the venom ROM, and I must admit I was happy with it when I'd compare it to my old Desire.
There wasn't much in the way of lag and it felt snappy enough in day to day use.
However in the past WK since swapping to a CM ROM its like a new phone. Lightening quick, never a hint of lag and with proper multi tasking. I don't know if every one else had this problem but with the stock ROM and with Venom if you changed between apps with more than a minute or two time lapse the app would have to reload. Where as now, on CM, if you swap between apps they're waiting for you exactly as they were. Proper multi tasking.
I'm firmly in the vanilla android camp.

I found Sense 4+ < AOSP < Sense 5 for speed.
To add, this is my perception in everyday use, not benchmarked scientifically.
Sense 4+ was Viper and stock HTC. AOSP was CM. Sense 5 by Insertcoin.
