well ive been installing some stuff on my phone (htc hd2) and most of it needs to be fixed and all. So ive been trying to find a free registry editor but all i find is resco which cost $30. So my question is there any other type of editors but free?
in addition that if it can work on 6.5 windows mobile, htc hd2, rom t-mobile 2.13?

I use this one ....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=327511
Runs on the PC, easier than doing it on the phone, also has useful other functions ...
two possibilities
you have (at least) two possibilities:
edit from the computer -- CeRegEditor as mentioned in the post before
edit directly on the device -- PHM Regedit
both free, maybe not stylish and fingerfriendly, but they are really doing the job well.

Α the guys above said, i also use phm editor and works fine.. u can find it also through open market i think for free dl

Ok, that's also an interesting registering tool but I think that we want to know how to control your device via your PC with the use of the mouse and keyboard.
Does such an application exists?
Yes, sure.
Pocket Pc Controller
http://www.soti.net/default.asp?Cmd=Products&SubCmd=PCPro
And regarding Remote Register... The screens I posted are from a tool found in the WM5 SDK (or in the VS2005 Professional Package). I do use them for work.
Thanks a lot, thats what I mend!
Thanks Pof, I Checked Out Registry Workshop. The One By Torch Soft? It Says I Have To Buy A License To Use It And So I Decided Not To Use It.
Thanks CmdKewin I'll Download The WM5 SDK Now And Use That One If It's Free.

Mobile Registry Editor does it - you can browse the PDA's registry on your PC.
Just plug your USB cable in, run MRE and you're good to go.
I Looked At MBR, But It's Very Limited, Theres No Option To Search The Registry For Strings And Delete Keys And Things. Which Are Quite Important When Shifting Through All The Information. If It Had Those Features I'd Recommend It But, It Doesn't.
Cheers

OK... so this is the fun stuff.
I've dumped the WM6 ROM, since everything's on DoC this should all go swimmingly in terms of putting it back together.
so... since there's a plethora of WM6 ROMs for other devices, what existing stuff shall we build a ROM with for now?
For the first go, I'd personally like to see mrvrealvga integrated as well as humanly possible into the ROM. As well as basic performance tweaks and utilities.
Otherwise, vanilla as hell. Only include things that are nearly universally used.
Example: I don't use TomTom and neither do lots of other folks. Why waste the space.
Example: I do use MS VoiceCommand and it seems like some ROMs do a good job of integrating it. I would love that, but if others don't, then scratch that.
Keep the first one mean and lean.
My thoughts.
I second wgary's comments to the wants and not wants.
NICE waited long time now let the cooking begin :
Mouse driver from mobidock (important!!)
trueVGA interegated with the files (vijays big phone and other trueVGA files)
HTC touchFLUO files interegated (that will make it to scroll to in any menu and page)
HTC audio manager (VGA)
SMS backup
Batterystatus 1.04
Ofiice 2007 for WM6
Clear storage
some tweaks (to make it fatser like GDI tweaks, storage cache tweaks)
HTC today audio plugin (from htc touch)
all the functions of WM6 intact but if microsofts voice is taken away i find it good because it never works!! need the files or cabs i have them solet me know!!
RE: Office 2007.
Yeah, that would be great and all... but ONLY if it can be integrated without being a space hog. Sounds like bloat-a-rama.
You have 256MB of ROM, plus 8gigs on the hard drive, what's to complain?
As you requested, i'm trying to stick to things that have already been done so you can come out with a quick and easy and OPTIMIZED ROM.
- Safe Mode functionality built into the ROM.
- Fix trueVGA...but not sure how much of it has been fixed other than the dialer and a few other things. Not 100% so you may want to wait on this.
- All black ROM that works in both VGA and trueVGA modes? This already exists and may be easily done. Here is an existing one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=314263&highlight=buttonflo
- Maybe Palm Threader for SMS threading?
- I would like a ROM with this look for my Athena, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=311225 , all files should be available to make it easier on you if you decide to go this route. I really don't care for the today screen look but the phone and comm manager look nice. Just don't like the wallpaper. Needs to be just black without the texture used.
- TouchFlo aka ButtonFlo feature. We discussed this before and it looks like someone already came out with it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=314031&highlight=buttonflo
- (UPDATED) Touchflo cube + Black magic + VP3G rom + Instructions + links to rom, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=314324&highlight=buttonflo
- GroupSMS (already done on Universal)
- PocketRAR (already done on Universal)
- CallFirewall (already done on Universal)

- PPCPimBackup (already done on Wizard)
- SMS Backup (already done on Wizard)
- Synchrotime (already done on Wizard)
- Task Manager 2.7 w/Registry Editor (done on Wizard)
- Please put Adobe Reader. Had problems reading PDF's with others.
- Pocket Screen Capture (done on Wizard)
- Internet Calling utility (done on Universal & Hermes) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299950
- JetCet Print since it wasn't in the latest ROM with WM6
- WM6 Remote Desktop
- Office 2k7 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote)
Can't think of anything else that already exists that we may want.
Edit: Is it possible to "modify" Magic Button to integrate better into the new shading on WM6?
Beside all of the above postings..can i suggest one ?
Garmin Mobile XT..it is in Dopod U1000 (thailand) ROM. Maybe somebody from Thailand could dump the cab..
thanks..
If possible there shout be a Vanilla Rom and a full Rom, that's how the did it in the Hermes section.
Also there is a new Kaiser HTC Home plugin (Also VGA) and remade by some people: Look at this thread:

Olipro: i am interested to do some cooking in order to have Blackberry connect running (change the version). For other rooms it was due modificating the nbf file, but for HTC 7500 I don't know how to do. I tested the tool HTC64 but says not sure about the result due it was for UNIVERSAL.
I have been using nbextract to obtain the .nb files. Where I can change the version of the operative system -I mean it is in the G4 or where?

YES! Please remote the built in dialer. I don't know anyone that uses it.
I use it! Because I drive and I use a BT adapter, PLUS I am italian and I would like to use a voice system having in MY language my contacts.
I record my contacts and I call using voice dial
Personally i prefer Cyberon Voice Commander to MS Voice Command - seems to recognise me better!
I think the Office 2007 updates should be in there, plus WM Storage, plus jetware extensions (although not sure how youd handle registration), oh and WiFiFoFum would be cool to fine hotspots.

I think ltxda's list is very good starting point. (other than I don't care about MvrTrue Vga) on my Universal I really only used with IE or Opera and now with their new scaling options, I really don't need true vga or its inherent issues.
I would also prefer MS Voice Command, and have cyberon completed removed or as an addon. I like MS voice command even better than the complete cyberon.
I will suggest to have a a look of to the new HTC_USA x7501 rom, may be it has new DLLs and faster drivers..
HTC Kaiser add-ins
Here's my request -
The new HTC add-ins from HTC Kaiser:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=316107
HTC Homeplug with additional tab
HTC 3G Dialpad with Video call
HTC 9 button commanager
Also, would be nice if it including the fixed HTC Audio Manager with correct track order (doe anyone know if this is available yet?)
VGA QVGA!
Hi Oli great work you've been doing already. I'd love to see the today screen in VGA so I can finally have all my info on one page without scroll but I'd like a way to set individual programs to default to QVGA when I start them
ie. a sat nav program such as iGo8 which I'd have to install afterwards.
Martyn
Just wondering what programs everyone finds useful, handy, or fun on their Star Trek.
Just as on every other smartphone.
Mine are:
VITO Audio Notes - calls recording
Gentimer - alarm clock
Notepad Mobile
Opera Mini
Prelude ICQ
Resco Explorer
Newsbreak - RSS
ClockOnTop
Dont forget
VNCViewer
Documents To Go
SmartphoneNotes
I will add two more that I found realy useful:
phonealarm
smart toolkit
Yahoo 2 Go
Voice Commander
Google maps
Live Search
I don't know if you already know but a program that I find very useful on my 3125 is SMSintercept. its free and it shows the name of the contact that sent you a message on the main display instead of that boring(text message (1)) and the cool thing is that it even shows the contact name on the Ext. screen!! it has other cool features, I think is a "must have" for every strtrk user
And who doesn't use DontForget2?......
I have installed:
Audio Manager from HTC Vox
Google Maps
Live Search
Octrotalk
PHM Registry Editor
Total Commander
Voice Command
Oxios Hibernate
PIM Backup (This WILL work on Smartphone)
I also highly recommend using an Exchange Activesync connection instead of USB. It's extremely reliable and provides a live, constant sync backup of all PIM data on your device. Mail2web offers them for free! Live.mail2web.com
I also use:
CallJockey
CorePlayer
GenTimer
Phone Guard
SKTools
WM5torage
Voicecommand for the SPL please?
i have a SPL and need to know where i can obtain a cab for MSVC w/bluetooth support?
My ABSOLUTE all time favorite is
John Cody's Alerts!
I use it more than any other app - hand's down!
He has excellent customer support through his forum and the registration fee is minimal. I've used it on my 2125 and now on my 3125 and can't imagine having a smartphone without it.
I upgraded my ROM on the HTC/Cingular 3125 and now Don't Forget 1.22 doesn't work. If anyone has a solution as to how to get it to work please PM me.

Is there a 3rd-party SW that can replace Office Mobile for non-touchscreen smartphones?
I am looking for a program that would fulfill at least the minimal requirements (such as basic editing, or for Excel, basic calculation) but still be compatible to MS Office on the desktop

Anything else?
I tried on S740 and it worked well.. but the weird thing is i cant seem to install it on the storage card.
That's interesting; how did you do it? Above all, how do you handle the split screen in keyboard mode?
Which version did you use?
The version i used was 3.0010.
What do you mean by splitscreen in keyboard mode ?
When I go to keyboard mode, I get a screen that is split in two

With Office Mobile (Word, Excel), you can create new docs, edit...
On pc, create empty word document, copy it to device and open with Word Mobile. Then right soft-key and chose EDIT... If you are done, right soft-key, File-Save As... Write name of doc and save. Thats all.
I know all that, korenisko; and that's not the issue.
The problem is that the functionality of Office Mobile for non-touchscreens is laughable; the most rudimentary functions, such as cut & paste are not possible.
If you want to use the device in its full potential, a replacement of Office Mobile is called for

Hi,
Quite surprisingly I have had no trouble at all in getting mobile remote desktop on my HTC HD2 connected to my PC (Win 7). All was working fine until I tried one app whose main window on the PC cannot be resized.
The main window does not fit on the mobile desktop despite having "fit remote desktop to screen" ticked.. Why has the desktop not been shrunk to fit the screen?
HTC zoom does not work because I want to make it smaller not bigger!!
How can I get round this?
Should I try a different version of windows mobile?

Dear friend ... Maybe you can try Energy WM ROM It may help But If your looking for a Remote Desktop app full working I think you should use Android's Because WM is too Old and doesn't have any option and no way to fix/change anything easily ... also if you want to have WM , you can try dual-booting and having both WPH and Android at the same time ( Just take a look at here for it ) ... but if just want android , try this ... then you can enjoy that remote desktop while you enjoy your LEO  ... Good luck

Well Dear friend ... As you said the links are down so you can try Artemis ( some how better )
-about the next ( about apps ) I should say that if you use a Sense 2 /3 ( 2 is better ) your idea will change ... my recommended ROm is this
- about the last I should say that if you Dual-boot , you can use Both WPH ( Winphone 7.8 ) and Android ( 4.4.2 - Sense 3 / 3.5 / 2.1 ,.. )at the same time which is really helpful to people who need WPH and long battery life at the same time ...
Good luck

Thanks for the prompt reply.
1. I'll try Artemis
2. Most of the apps I am interested in are specialised apps not available on Android - hiking maps, golf statistics, and old MS DOS program etc
3 WPH7.8 is simply too hard to use your own apps on. If you cant get the app from the MS market place (or whatever it is called) it seems you cant run it. As far as I can tell without actually doing it, it will be easier to run these specialised native windows apps on an iPhone that get them working on Windows 7.,8!!!
If course, I could always pay $$$ to upgrade the app but why should I when it works fine!
BTW What size partition in the NAND does Artemis require? I/ve read of sizes anywhere between 85Mb and 135Mb for different ROMS

Well to some extend your right ... but WPH is very smooth - has almost all the WM apps also more - has good MS support - etc ( it sure deserves a try I'm just sure of it ... If didn't like , you can switch back to WM ) ... it's called marketplace and is great ... also you can search for your apps in google and install them yourself ( almost all MS apps are ported into WPH ) WPH has ability to run high Graphic apps / games which was to main week point of WM it has almost all XboX games ... Well about the partition you'd better look the main thread on XDA here ... Good luck
