I have a t-mobile HTC HD2. I use the msn messenger on the phone a lot. At times I get the msg "the wireless network is not availabl right now. messenger is trying to establish a connection" and then the msn does not work. I m using the 3g feature of tmobile. Can u please help me out..
i've had that happen to me a lot, unfortunately i never found a fix.
Instead I just stopped using live messenger and switched to nimbuzz and then to palringo. personally, i believe both have stronger connections, they're free and you can them with your live messenger account as well as those of other messaging services (like facebook chat and yahoo chat)

Yahoo mail still exists???? Get Gmail if problem persists.
I had the same issue. Even when I switched to display 20 messages from any date, it would say no mail but also say x available on server. If I tapped that it would compose a new message. I haven't used the native mail app in a while so after that I said screw it and went back to K9.
yes
same problem and looking for fix, I'm going to try sending the yahoo text/yahoo mobile from my computer to my phone and see if that works
Had same problem. I skipped it, went to it later and it went through.

I am having same problem. My work uses yahoo mail to post overtime. I am losing cash so I hope they solve this quick. Yahoo is what company adopted for email so switching isn't an option.

You could always use the browser until you get it fixed. Probably something to do with the server ports. I'll dig around on the Hero boards and see if I can find the settings.

Seriously, K9 mail. It's free in the market. It is the best mail app I've seen. And when we finally get some sort of root, you can use titanium backup to backup your data and if you switch roms or whatever use that to restore your accounts and settings instantly.
It appears to be a known issue. I cannot get my Yahoo mail to open using the stock Email app either, I can send but I cannot receive. You can use the Yahoo Mail app, that works just fine and has a nice user interface, but me, personally I prefer using the regular Mail app for all three of my email addresses. My Yahoo address is only mainly for crap. If people think using Yahoo is archaic, I use ***gasp*** *OH NO’S*** my ISP email address which is where all my important stuff goes, banking stuff and so on, and the address I give out to close friends and family. Only reason I have a Gmail account is because you’re forced to in order to use an Android phone. Hopefully a fix for this problem is in the works.
I'm surprised anyone uses anything other than gmail with an android device for personal email.
Same problem here. Started happening just yesterday for me.
A Sprint rep told me that Yahoo blocked port 25 on their servers which is causing issues across all phone platforms. He also said that Yahoo wants to start charging people for Yahoo Plus in order for it to work, but I have found no confirmation of that. As a matter of fact, I found at least one Yahoo Plus user who is also having this problem using the native mail app from another HTC phone.
I have contacted Yahoo about the issue and will post their response here when I get it. However, it does seem to be a very widespread problem.
I will be waiting for an answer because I would rather use sense for emails then the app.
glad I wasn't the only one.
same problem here. I noticed I was not getting yahoo mails today. I use mine for business, and frankly don't ever want to use another email. Yahoo has been consistent, reliable for me for over 14 years.
I downloaded and installed the Enhanced Email app on the Amazon Appstore today.. special for today only for 4.99... seems like a good program..
I did not know about K9,, I could have saved the 4.99... but I think the Enhanced email app has a lot of features I haven't started using yet.
same issue with yahoo..
set up quickly.. but no emails coming in...
and yea been using Yahoo for years.. not going to switch because gmail is android friendly lol
i want a fix too, i use gmail, hotmail, and yahoo and want them all on my phone with stock software. depends on who i am giving my email to or sending to as to which account i use

I have the new HTC Evo 3D and Yahoo mail does not work with the
native HTC Mail app. Before this phone, I had the original HTC Evo and
Yahoo worked fine with the HTC app over the course of one year that I
had that phone. I upgraded to this phone last week, and for 5 days
Yahoo was working fine on the HTC mail app, but it stopped working
yesterday. Gmail and my work email still work through the HTC mail app
and my Yahoo mail is still working on my computer, so I believe the
problem is on Yahoo's end.
Please advise if this issue had already been reported and if it is being
worked on.

I use Gmail for personal use (friends/relatives) and Yahoo for commercial use ie. Amazon, Netflix, forum addresses, etc.. Keeps my Gmail absolutely spam free and when I get a Gmail I know it is really an email I want to see and have pushed to my 3VO.
I had the Yahoo set up problem too, just got my 3VO yesterday. Finally got it to work with the standard mail app. Turned out to be a security issue on my account, and after I changed my password to a more secure one, and after I signed on to the account from my 3VO browser, I was able to set it up using the manual mode (IMAP).
Remember to remove the "htc." from the incoming and outgoing server addresses though.
I haven't been getting my emails through my phone like usual. I checked all the setting and everything is good. I've power off the phone many times as well to see if thy would help but nope. Anybody experiencing this problem? Any fixes?

Yahoo, Gmail, Windows Live, Comcast, and AKO. I mainly use my yahoo and gmail but I'm not getting any emails from any of them.
I use the stock ROM (not rooted) so the emails are supposed to be pushed to the phone through the email engine (or whatever its called). I dont use any apps for my email.
For gmail : https://market.android.com/details?id=com.google.android.gm
For yahoo : https://market.android.com/details?id=com.yahoo.mobile.client.android.mail
But you can go to settings->account and sync and just configure it there, should work fine..
I'm having this problem with email Push on my Atrix and Inspire, both running stock Gingerbread. I also have a Captivate running a leaked OEM Gingerbread rom, and it does NOT have this issue. My Atrix didn't have a problem with this until the OTA 2.3.4 update. What I believe I have found to be behind the problem is the way at&t's 4G network handles background data with Gingerbread. It's not maintaining a persistent connection for some reason, but my 3G Captivate has no problems.
Essentially, I blame the network. 4G background data delivery doesn't seem to be playing well with Gingerbread. When I switch to wifi, no problemo. Email pushes just fine. I even had an at&t store employee tell me that he was having problems with his work email on Exchange having massive delays on his Atrix.
Unfortunately, I haven't had any luck convincing customer support that this is the problem. No one has been able to help resolve this.
EDIT: I only have one gmail account running, and it's my primary email account. And yes, I have the gmail app installed and configured properly for notifications.
Mail for exchange using your company email doesn't work in native Email client works in gmail app.
Phone signal is very dodgy and both my phones had severe call dropping issues, no its not my network!
Confirmed by Samsung they have any other issues with it too eg mails not syncing on corporate acs using google apps, huge bug with cell reception
Samsung told me that the phone was tested in Korea and not anywhere else they didnt see these issues cos in Korea they didn't test the email bug for providers abroad.- duh, stupid excuse!
Dont buy if using for work emails it's the worst phone for it and ofcourse for the signal and battery issues rapid discharge lasted only for 6 hours MAX
I had 2 and sold them both cos I got so frustrated trying to set it up.
My corporate exchange account works perfectly in the S III`s mail (not GMail) client.
There is, however, one feature that is missing from the S2, which is the ability to sync the Notes from my Exchange account. With the S2 I`d write notes in Outlook and then they`d automagically appear in the S2. With the S3 the S-Memo apps replaces Notes and it`s quite useless in that sense.

Can't say anything about emails as I only sync mail on my tablet. But you're wrong about receptionband battery life. Reception is just as good as the S and S2 for me with no dropped calls so far. As for battery life, I can get over 5 hours of screen time with a total up time of 20 hours with regular use consisting of browsing and gaming.

Perhaps not in your firmware or your particular configuration.
In the LF6 (or was it LF2?) it works fine sync'ing to an Exchange 2010 Server via activesync (exchange push.) At least it works fine for me with my configuration.
Sometimes can be due to OSI layer 9 = user problem. Especially migrated from iphone which they don't understand how to use the system and they started to complaning the phone and follow by provider lastly the manufacturer.

I have no battery issues either. In fact this phone has the best battery life amongst all the Android phones I have owned.
Phone signal is good for me, certainly better than my HTC Sensation.

No, he's not a joke. At least one more person has reported that the e-mail client does not work with Google Apps exchange accounts, although on other phones it does. It works fine with 'normal' exchange server accounts.
There is another thread about this in the General section.

On my SIII ( Canada, Telus ), exchange email client crashes occasionally. I have lot of rules ( client side ) that move email to folders depending on sender, subject etc. I originally thought that crash may be due to email getting moved to another folder by outlook while SIII's client was still trying to grab it or something... However it will also crash when I am not using my laptop and therefore have no other client reading my exchange email.
Not sure if symptoms you see are similar or something different.
Biggest bug I've seen is insects flying at the S3's screen mistaking it for a truck window.
Maybe you mixed something up or i don't understand something correct, exchange is microsoft exchange and works flawless (at least for me), gmail is another thing which got nothing to do with exchange.
For gmail you got your own dedicated app, no need for integration within the Samsung email app and if you still want to use it there, make sure to use imap and not exchange, because this is only to synchronize to Microsoft exchange servers.
Last but not least, no call problems or signal drops from my side and I'm getting juice for a full day with moderat to heavy use, also it's a bit heavy to title it as serious bug in all s3 only because you and some others can't get it to work.
Edit: just checked it and added my gmail account as common mail account (to get the mails at the Samsung app) works flawless even no need to set a server myself, i would recommend you to read properly and check the matter before moaning something does not work at all devices.

I'm not getting push notifications on my device even with Wi-Fi on :/

clearly not i use facebook a lot and need it to work
Sell up and get android??

don't use the facebook app for messaging.
use the native facebook chat which is integrated into the messaging hub. there it works without any problems.
