For those who have owned a Playstation and enjoy playing RPG games, then you might remember Final Fantasy 9. It didn't have as many mini-games as FF7, but it did have a fun card game to relax you from the main story line...if you were able to understand the fragmented manual .
In this version of TM, it uses the same features as the original plus more "manual included". If you haven't played the Playstation version, then you won't be missing much after playing this game.

FAQ:
Q: Why did you make this game?
A: When playing FF9, I felt the mini-game wasn't made to its full potential. So instead of complaining, I took action and wrote up a updated version.
Q: How long did you have to play the game to know how it works?
A: Not much. Because of Trifthen having already went through the trouble of making a FAQ about the game, it took a large weight off my shoulders.
Q: Porting
A, Platforms: As of now, the program is still not complete for the platform it is intended for. Android is a maybe, Droid is a maybe, iPhone is a no.
A, Game(s): Depends what game your requesting. Triple Triad is tentative to being added to the list.
After Tetra Master, I'm going to be playing with OpenGL and attempt to make a Sphere Break. I would LOVE to make a Blitzball port....but its still out of my skill reach.
Q: I found a bug/ problem
A: Awesome, post it somewhere in this thread or send me a pm. I'm on the pc quite often. Just remember to be detailed in where the problem happened and what you were doing before it happened "as much as you can recall". If the game crashes and you get an error, report it in the following way:
error message
at Tetra_Master.xxx.yyy1()
at Tetra_Master.xxx.yyy2()
...
...
at Tetra_Master.xx
Error from Version: 0.00.0
Click to collapse
If the line after "at" does not contain "Tetra_Master", then don't bother typing it. I don't have any control over the system stuff, only the game functions. Also, the stuff between the parenthesis, don't bother typing that stuff. I know what the function is, its input variable is irrelevant to fixing the problem.
Q: I love this game, can I help?
A: At the moment, yes. I'm looking for a graphics designer for: making new creature images and some other small work. If you are interested, send me a pm and some work you've done. All the images are in 24-bit format. I am not an artist, but I can do a fair amount of image editing. If you can do better art than me, then welcome to the team.
Q: OHH! I got this great idea for your game
A: I am always looking for new things to put in the game to make it more vibrant. Post it anywhere "pm/ thread" and I'll see it.
Q: Can I help with the programming?
A: Thank you, but no. If you want to help, give recommendations of what you would like to see in the game.
Q: I have a question which isn't mentioned in the FAQ
A: Toss it into the thread. Every bit makes this forum a better place.
Sounds cool... obviously a needed feature would be human vs human multiplayer and down the line possible a network-based game.
I should also mention that I liked Triple Triad from FF8 better than Tetra Master.
how do you play this game ?
Sceen gets cutoff on VGA. will there be VGA support for it down the road ?
I'm sorry that it gets cut off on the VGA screens. There is a VGA version in the works after the WVGA is completed. It's not scalable because I was cutting corners to get this to stable release. :-D
Version 1.0 will include VGA support
The next version will also have a updated manuals "including how to duel" and the wager selection screen. Should be done withen a week or so from now.
I like this Idea, I am a big FF fan and enjoyed the card games and have alwasy wanted one to play on my phone. I will admite I gave much more time in learning the FF8 card game more then the FF9 but they were both fun. I look foward to trying this out more when you add better features.
If you need a tester I do have the CDMA touch pro 2 and would be more then happy.
Doesn't look bad. Tried it on my Window Mobile 6.5. Crashed once I bought a card, but now it doesn't. Also crashed when I tried to trade cards. Unfortunaly you arn't finished with save/load... this would be great.
Keep your good work up dude...
Awesome
Simply amazing man, can't wait to see this finished!
Smartmouth Application
I agree also..But will it work with Smartmouth application? The specs can be found here, it hasnt released yet but looks awesome!!
www smartmouth.me
Yes! You are a genius!! With Save/load this will be perfect!
Wow, I am simply amazed by how fast this has boomed.
MANDINGOLOCO, I have not heard of smartmouth before, but I do plan to have a built in chatting system after the "duel between friends" is working.
Also far into the works is a championship duel, where 10 or more people can make a arena and duel each other for awards/ money/ cards/ bragging rights. Along with the area will be a watch feature, so you can watch others duel. But all this is still far away, somewhere of v2.
Sqoerk, when you said trade a card, do you mean selling a card? I will look into this tomorrow.
When Sqoerk's problem is solved in the next release, the save/ load will be enabled. It hasn't been so far because of unfinished ideas, but you all have impressed me enough to push on anyway.
Great work!!
Really looking forward to seeing the progress on this. It's looking really good already.
Please keep it up!
Oh, trading the card when buying a card. I forgot about that part for a moment. The trade feature will be disabled for awhile, its still in debugging stage. I have not gotten a crash yet when playing with it, but I take your word and will look more into it

I have never played FF9 or tetra master... but i agree that Triple Triad was a very decent mini game.
hey OP, good work on the port... any chance of a version of triple triad in the future?

....*bashes head on the desk*....don't you guys have enough Triple Triad stuff already???
After Tetra Master is fully running to my satisfaction, I'm going to be working on a Sphere Break port. ONLY after those 2 games are done, then I might consider doing a Triple Triad port. Do I hate triple triad, no, but I'd rather bring out the games that haven't been in the spotlight yet.
I have a list of about 7 games that I want to make, Triple Triad is in the maybe.
ha ha, yeah man... triple triad rocks though.
thanks for all your efforts. i had a quick google session.. but couldnt find any triple triad for WINMO.. do you know of a game that is similar that is available?
cheers again man.
I just tried your latest cab but i get 'unsucessfull installation' as soon as i click the cab.
I have reset my device so thought would let you know about this.
Hey
Great app love this game!!!! Great Work!!!
Ok i had the app before the save/load feature was put into place and it worked just fine but now that i have installed the updated version it crashes every time i go to select a card to dual with if u would like me to post the detailed report i will do so dont really want to type it all out but i will if it makes this app work better and also when u go to select a file block to save the game and when u go to load the game it is very sensitive on where u press FYI. So just figured i would let u know the only problem i have found with it so far.
but keep up the great work cant wait for it to be finished!
I've changed the cab making program, so that might have caused the problem. I'll look into it after my rom update.
vagrantknot, what card to duel with are you talking about? The card selection window or the dueling window? If you are able to post the error, do so with the line before a mouse up/down/move action and the following lines. I don't need the variables for the command or the while link.
example:
xxx.yyy();
How is the save/load window too sensitive? as in moving, selecting, or other?

How to play
You can tap the fret buttons on the lower part of the screen or you can use LEFT UP RIGHT hardware keys to play.
If you want to quit the level, just press the RED (end call) key. Alternatively, you can click the top right corner (where the framerate counter is located).
Please note that with the hardware buttons you won't be able to net those multitouch points. A singletouch easier mode is planned for future versions.

The first playable level is released on a simplistic game engine.
The Options Menu doesn't work yet.
Planned features for next version
...
Planned features for FUTURE versions
There is going to be a music editor for PC (at least) so you can create levels. The process won't be automatic, though, because we cannot make a program that guesses where the guitar is in the music by itself. So you are going to place the notes where you feel is right.
Note animations when you tap them.
Options menu.
...
Known Issues
I can't access the Options menu!
It's not working yet!
If the application below the game updates the screen, Touch The Music no longer recognizes touches or keystrokes
To be honest, I don't know why this happens but it will have to be fixed. Starting the game from the programs menu or the manilla programs tab minimizes this, as long as the messaging tab is not visible. (experimental fix in version 0.3)
The game does nothing!
This is a problem with some hidden GAPI calls I may be using... Try this fix: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=532200
I have no Sound
If possible, change your ROM. If not, try the latest version and tell me all the eventual error messages.
Multitouch isn't working, my device has got no multitouch support!
Multitouch for Touch the Music is entirely software-based. It should work on any phone without hardware multitouch (yeah I know, mixed roles here).
If it doesn't on yours, try the latest version out and send me your log.txt
How can I make my own track levels?
I recommend using a program like audacity to open the mp3 file. Then, check the timing of the notes and write them in a text file as such:
<note type> <time>
Time can be absolute (i.e. 3000 = 3 seconds since beginning of the song) or relative (i.e. +1000 = 1 second since PREVIOUS NOTE). Please put in an absolute note for reference once in a while.
Note types can be:
L - left
M - middle
R - right
< - L + M
> - M + R
v - L + R
So for example, a simple music could be:
# This is a comment
# Intro of simple music
L 2000
R +200
M +300
R +200
< 5000
> +500
# Chorus. Note the absolute timing for reference
R 7000
L +200
R +200
M +300
etc......
Always remember, higher pitch (acute) notes should be on the right. I can't tell you enough to look at the track1.txt in the tracks folder of the game, to understand what I just said.
When you want to test it, convert your mp3 to aac and save it in the tracks folder as well as the txt with the notes script. Rename them both to track1.aac and track1.txt.
Thank you all for your time and especially the users who are contributing with testing, ideas or just kind words, you are all that makes this project possible.
Reserved for future purposes....

Indeed, the testing was a success! I noticed we have showstopper problems with the HTC Scroll version on some ROMs, but everything else seems to work fine for everyone.
There's also a touchscreen problem on two devices that seem to be the same Scroll problem I had, but they're not confirmed yet!
I'm quite proud of the outcome, we had a very serious issue with htc Diamond that got fixed the hard way
By the way, to the people that go to my visitor profile page, the testing is closed for now and I never asked for visitor messages!
Please read the post carefully again. I'll release a cab in some days time. Probably the same the testers had access to, ok?
Also, excuse Shoddy_me's lack of activity, but he is not here at the moment. I assure you, tough, that he continues to make "neat neat graphics" ^^

Yes, please excuse my lack of activity. Still, I can tell you that I work with the graphics (more or less) even though I'm on vacation. Right now I've got my sketchbook full of new ideas and they're kinda "neat". So, you've got the right to expect some nice graphics in the future.. until then, have patience.. and don't try to steal my position as a graphics designer for this project, it won't work.
Hey everyone,
This is just a keepalive post, so everybody knows we're still alive and developing
The game now reacts well to input, meaning that if you press/touch the left button, the first left note will pop. The scoring method is awkward right now, so, if anyone has ideas on how the score should behave, do tell
I also finished the score display, but due to Shoddy's absence there's no beautiful score yet (arial written numbers for the win!) I expect to have gorgeous numbers by Thursday.
Until then, I'll be working on the animations. That means a flow-y background that lights up in the colors you press and notes that slowly disappear when clicked
As soon as that's done with Shoddy's pics, it'll be a day or two until I release a test cab to the testers! I will now update the first post with the first testcabs that were sent.
Also, WVGA and SquaredVGA are still unsupported, unfortunately... I'll have to redo most of the program to make those resolutions work.
Cab sent for testers and no replies yet :S

Please guys..i really am behind u guys on this project all the way..and i just want it to be released already!!
This takes a while to do, and we have our studies to pursue, so you'll have to understand we can't exactly push a release in a month or two.
I'll try to give a more detailed progress report soon, wait for it and new cabs.
Progress is a little stalled due to a DirectDraw issue on Diamond (and probably other devices). It seems the Diamond implementation of it doesn't know how to use system memory, even when forced, or I'm doing something wrong. So, in the meantime it seems we'll just have to use less images.
kk guys..i am behind u guys all the way..good luck
Why PowerRadio?
The built-im FM player - at least on HTC HD - misses many features i'd like to have in a FM radio. PowerRadio delivers many data available via RDS which would otherwise be invisible to the listener. Here are just a few examples:
- Radiotext: contains information broadcast by the respective station. What you get here totally depens on the broadcaster. You might see title and interpret, call-in numbers, SMS trafficservice numbers, URL's etc.
- traffic announcements, program type, coverage area, date, time, timezone, various status flags
More info on RDS can be found in this post.

Now I just change the color brown ..
I am using Raphael 6.5 ROM too.
I couldn't hear anything after installation but I couldsee RDS data on the screen.
I closed and replaced GFMAPI then it works.
Suggestion: add indicator of loading/unloading progress such as a spinning hourglass.
Heya. Nice to see you released your radio Looking quite good! I like the classic yellow/brown look.
Just two remarks I found so far..
1) When on speaker mode, shutdown and restart, it's on full volume. Woke half my family with it ;-) Could you enforce the previous volume on startup?
2) Could you change the sensitivity setting to allow higher sensitivity? When at 9 I still get way too many 'static noise' stations. I need it to go to at least 15 or so. Besides, sensitivity is more like 'minimal signal level'. Else a value of '0' implies less sensitive, while it seems to be even more sensitive.

right.
I was listening with headphones
Hi,
That's great for a start! I'm impressed!
I have found some bugs:
- The volume level is louder than the volume indicator after a close/restart.
- After a close/restart, the names of the preset buttons change from for example "87,5" to "87" with the "5" under the "87" (see pics)... After that the preset button for my example tunes to "87" and not to "87,5". If I try to edit the name, only "5" is editable.
- There's a problem with the police you use: after I use Power Radio, the font of the task manager on my Touch HD is replaced by yours (see pic)... I have to soft reset to get it back.
Will it be possible to:
- store more presets
- store the name of the station instead of the frequency during the scan
- add the possibility to record the radio
One more question, but it may be for flywhc: when the reception is not good, the name of the station can be misspelled (the other information also can be wrong)... I thought the checkwords in RDS groups could help in detecting these errors and not transmit a wrong block.
Did not open on Touch Pro 2. Installed fine. When opened it, error came "can't open GFMAPI"
Hi, Looks good however it isn't working on my verizon diamond. It opens and say wait loading forever. If you close and restart the ap I get can't open GFMAPI. I also noticed that it changes my HTC task bar font to the digital font. Well i'm looking forward to your next rev. Thanks for the hard work.
Thanks everyone for your comments. I added a todo list to the first post reflecting your suggestions.

Thats possible, but would extend scan times dramatically as i've to wait for RDS data to arrive. And then there are still broadcasters without RDS at all. I'll consider adding a scan option for that.

It's not flywhc's fault, GFMAPI delivers the checkwords but at the moment they are simply ignored . Added to todo.

I dont know your device, does it have a built-in FM radio app? Could you try to run flywhc's APITest (see first post) and see if it opens/plays?
After closing PowerRadio, you have to wait for approx. 10 secs. before restarting it. This is due to hidden threads running in background after exit. I'll add waitcursors in future releases to indicate that.
You could try to run a manual scan while it still displays "wait loading", or manually step through frequencies to a known station. Please let me know the outcome.

I'm not very talented when it comes to grafics and skins, so i better dont - trust me Currently it wouldnt be possible too, as many elements are hardcoded. As a best effort i could modify the GUI to make skins possible, i'm sure there are some grafics genius'es out there to fill the gap.

Hi, this is great! What about adding in the recording FM radio function?
That would really add value to our HTC devices!

My TP2 came with FM radio installed. I listen to it everyday. Everytime I run this application, keeps coming with the mapi error as mentioned above.
Looks great already!
On Topaz (HTC Touch Diamond2) the volume is really really low. Increasing system volume to max. didn't help. Are the up(green) and down(red) arrows for volume? They don't do anything on my device either.
Thanks!

I'll see if i can interface with an existing app, no plans to write a new one.
Excellent idea here. I installed, started it, it finds stations, but there is no audio at all. It also seemed to disable sounds throughout the whole system while it was on. Any ideas here? I am using a custom ROM with windows 6.5. Be glad to help you troubleshoot. Also, seems to have changed the font in Taskmanager Thanks for the work you have done so far

I had installed Android on my Touch Diamond, but the battery was draining as hell. I also bought an iPad 2 and is now confiscated by my family I have developed in the past for Objective-C (15 years ago!). But for developing iOS application you need a Mac or Hackintosh. I had a Hackintosh running in a virtual machine, but actually I did not want to dive into iOS programming, because there are so many (free) Apps available, so why spent effort to have just another one And then you still have to pay yearly to develop for iOS and still need to go through the approval procedure of Apple. And also the battle between Android, iOS and Windows Phone is still not done.
Note that for my work we switched to use Silverlight for developing business applications. We know that Silverlight will disappear also over time and that probably HTML5/Javascript will be the future. So I made a Web application using HTML5 on iPad. That was working Ok. So my choice is to follow HTML5 developments and maybe make some small apps to get real insight in the Do's and Dont's.
The goal of me is to learn something which is useful for me, so that will not be programming specific for Android, iOS or Windows Phone. And also not the Mobile development platforms which do exists. I decided to focus on HTML5 only
I did not earn much with BattClock, especially when you take into account the numbers of hours spent, but I learned a lot and all the aspects of making a quality application on a Windows Mobile platform was a good experience. I thank everyone supporting me and for the donations I got. But now is the time to really stop development for Windows Mobile and focus on HTML5. I can spent my scarce free time only once, especially because I am developing software as a professional as a full time paid job. That is where I earn my money
Hope you keep enjoying the *free* BattClock and if you also move away of Windows Mobile phone you will remember/miss BattClock as a very cool Swiss (oops, Dutch) Knife App

I can imagine that the default height/width is not correctly, but I would expect it should work on a large range of Windows Mobile phones. What phone type do you have and what is going wrong?
is there any way to make the time show in 12HR format?
Hi,
I have a MotoQ Smartphone. Wm5. Battclock does not install. I never expected it to be able to run, so am only barely disappointed i cant run it.

i just tried it on 6.5.3 and the battery percentage gets cut off. So earlier builds may be fine but newer builds of WM (with the top bar a little narrower and the close softkey on the bottom taskbar) don't appear to work with this build.
Enable 12 hour format
Thanks very much, ZuinigeRijder. This is what I am looking for a long time.
With it, I can switch back to WM 6.1 from WM 6.5.3 (which has clock on top) for memory issue in my HTC Diamond.
One question: how can I change clock to 12 hour format?
By reading your guide for TouchLockPro, I tried to create registry entry under [HKCU\Software\ZuinigeRijder\LockSettings]:
Clock12=1
which did not work after Diamond was rebooted.
This is fantastic, it runs great on my Touch Pro 2 with WM 6.5. If I can make one request, I'd also love an option to use 12 hour time as oppose to 24 hour time. Thanks!
BattClock 1.1 is stil based on the StylusLock BattClock source code. I am planning to make BattCLock 1.2, which is based on TouchLockPro code base. This will give you more possibilities:
- only show time, battery percentage or date
- 12 hour clock
- datetime format
- fontsize
- indication if charging
- first time auto detect size of BattClock and colors, dependent of the screen resolution and colors of Taskbar
And probably a separate BattCLock configuration program, because editing registry keys is not so convenient.

You have to change sizes manually then, including the fontsize. However, the fontsize is not yet part of BattClock 1.1, so you have to wait for BattClock 1.2. Others, using TouchLockPro, can already change the BattClock, so it looks nice too on WM6.5.3

Ok, here is the exe which you can copy to your phone and start manually, to see if it works. But probably you need some features of future BattClock 1.2, like fontsize and/or auto-detect screen resolution.
See attachment for the standalone BattClock without the need of CAB install. Unzip the BattCLock.zip and copy BattClock.exe to your phone.

Yes, but you should manually adjust the sizes and positions. But probably there is not enough space for both the time and battery percentage and also the fontsize cannot be set.
Probably it is better to wait for BattClock version 1.2, which makes it possible to tweak more.

Glad you like the app, and I appreciate your suggestions, hopefully version 1.1 meets them all.
Works flawllesly on Samsung i900 winmo 6.5.3, awesome app mate and finger friendly!
Maybe an option to download a video directly to mp3? I know it's not easy since it must be converted somehow, but still i think a lot of people would love this option.
Oh, and the ability to skin is always nice

Converting to mp3 has always been a feature I wanted to do, but it's not as easy as it sounds, and this is just a little project I like to spend time on when I'm not at work or working on some other projects.
I won't mind giving the source code to anyone who would like to implement it.

Yes i know, my best bet would be to try to use a free web service (like www.youtube-mp3.org ) and then download the converted mp3 from their servers...but that would need the site's permission i guess, and some complex coding? Anyway, keep up the good work!
Thanks, the search function is great, I like the search preview. Everything working as it should on my topaz.
One suggestion, is it possible to add a available quality choices menu before commence to download? (240p,360p,480p ...)

That feature is available in version 1.1, you can find it in the attachments
in order to turn it on, you need to go to the settings page, and set "Downloade default ..." to "NO"
Quite interesting program.
My suggestions:
(important)
It would be nice if one can get direct download link, instead of downloading file. It usable for pasting it to player (ex coreplayer).
(less important)
"Downloads" and "Settings" screens looks bad on QVGA.
Add option for non fulscreen mode.
Add option for default download format.
Make context popup menues.
Better support for 5 way navigation key.

The aim of this app is to be a downloader not a player, since HTC Youtube Player does that for you.
I can't see a good reason to implement it.

The app hasn't been tweaked for QVGA, but seems like Settings page is not usable in QVGA, so I'll make sure to fix that in the next update.
Can you just give me more details on what's the problem with QVGA in Downloads screen ? (Please, try version 1.3 and tell me what you think)
A default download format is not as easy as it seems, since each video has a different set of supported formats, that's why the only default format can be "360p MP4" (which is available for all videos), other than that you can turn off default download format and choose from the list of supported formats for each video when you download it.

All of youtube players I tried on my device lags terribly. While coreplayer plays them smooth (300% in benchmark).
RTSP youtube streams gives bad quality.
So, such option would be VERY usable to me and many others.

1.3 Looks OK on QVGA, things like "speed", "error", etc still barely visible (too small), but that isn't very important.

Yep. But there is a way: if user chosen format not available, program asks which format to download.
Well.... that was fast!
Nice work, Version 1.3 runs great on Omnia!
I also tried it on a Samsung i8000 i got a .net error while i exited the app and re-open and tried to resume a download but i guess it has something to do with the .net framework version the phone's rom had installed maybe, (winmo6.5.3 23103).
Anyway, great stuff mate!
thanks dude,
gona test it now, if i like it ill add into next version of my rom
keep up the good work!
EDIT:
i like it
Thanks for the great app
Good Luck to you and your Family
this is exactly the type of app I've been looking for for some time now! I've been using Getytv, but since YT has changed their proxy, it stopped working and the developer is no longer working on any updates.
MANY MANY THANKS!!!
One thing I would suggest (if possible), to add a possibility to update to new version straight in the application.
And also, having the toolbar with battery status and signal strenght visible, would be useful. I spend a lot of time browsing and downloading vids, so I need to go back to homepage everytime I want to check battery.
other than that, it works smooth on my HD2, design is pretty cool and fresh!
Thanks again, keep up the great work!
BTW: in the "about" screen you have v1.2, but it's downloaded as a v1.3 ;o)

I'd suggest you abandon this thread and base one in the Dev forum where the "iron fist" rules can apply.
IMO, this unmoderated sub-forum is going to have your thread go to hell ...

I agree but the same iron fist would keep this out of the dev section because there is no development happening.

Are you doing a pre or post ICS? For me, I will wait for ics to come out before rooting. Then ill play with ICS heavily before adding a ROM.
-Over clocking all 4 cores to 2ghz a piece, if possible. For some serious horse power to compete with newer tablets coming down the road. Of course needs to be stable or doesn't overheat n melt the device..lol
-some sort of uploader for native browser or even compatible with 3rd party browser. For ex. Safari on my iPad couldn't upload or download on stock setup. With jailbreak n Cydia, I have safari downloader, which enables download manager in native browser, and safari uploader. Which allows me to upload something thru the browser by accessing device files. Ex. I go to a site I need to upload resume. I just click on upload link on page, then it accesses my files. Then I search for resume, click on it , and proceed to upload.
-Some sort of futuristic theming around Transformer prime, movie or whatever. Completely changes the look up to a more high tech device.
-optimize and increase camera/video quality even more, if possible. I know it's already good, but could be a way to raise MP rating through software adjustments.
-an app like g power, available from Cydia for JB iPad. I double tap the top of screen(through activator) and it brings up quick menu to power down, reboot, or respring(if that applies to android). Or maybe just subtle gestures to access important features of device or apps.
-make skype and any other video chat apps that don't work with prime, work
-Tegra 3 supports 3d. Maybe make a way to enable 3D mode, with or without 3d glasses.
-see if any ways to optimize/beef up the gpu even more.
-maybe a way to download and install IOS tablet apps/games through an emulator or some other way. So we have access to even more apps, especially since IOS tablet only apps far outnumber androids.
-dual boot capabilities , possibly windows
-hack pad tool set..lmao
-a special feature, cybertron mode, that whenever Prime is in vicinity of an IOS device, we can disable and shut it down. Then we go over n show off how cool the prime is and enable that device to run run again. Showing that we can amd did, fix the device wirelessly or if you want it completely disabled for life, so be it.
Just throwing stuff out there, I'll update this post as I come up with more ideas.

I'm sure that people will overclock it, but I don't think we need it at this point considering that even with stock, the TFP will likely annihilate anything currently out. It won't have to compete with any other tablets for a long time.

Many phone/tablet ROMS can already do this; all you have to do is hold the power button to bring up the menu.

Completely impractical. iOS is not open source like Android, and even ignoring Apple coming down on anyone that attempts to do it, the architecture for the two are completely different, so even emulating it isn't something that can be done. At the risk of exaggeration, building a rocket to the moon sounds more plausible.

Someone will do it eventually, I think.
Suggestion or aquestion of viability since I have no idea what you can really do developing a rom.
Some sort of "stylus mode" where large touches from your palm don't get registered and mess up your writing for all those apps that using a stylus is nice but don't have palm recognition.
There's something i think fits both transformer tablets perfectly: A native android IDE. Developing for Android and testing it in the same tablet you're coding on the fly. No need for an additional device.
As far as ROMs go.... i still don't have the prime so i can't see what should be changed
+1 on the stylus mode.
usb support. I'll try to explain. whatever needs to happen to make the usb adapter work like a "real" usb port like on the Iconia A500. I wanna use flash drives and the remote control dSLR app to controll my camera. If that isn't already built into ICS.
Not too crazy on the tweaks. I've noticed the more tweaks in cooked roms the more custom problems there are.
Glad you're starting early.

NVM my last post.......what HE said....
tried to deodex the system, but im getting really wierd errors.. i htink its honeycomb related buttt.
Is it possible to have a four finger swipe function on the ROMs for the transformer to switch recent applications or to look at the recent apps like the iOS? i.e. As was previously asked gesture based OS would be pretty nice..
Also possibility of overclocking and undervolting, mainly the companion core for the background tasks which might improve the response further.. It is pretty good in comparison to old tablets from what the demos show but I guess bumping up the 500MHz 5th core could possibly help mundane tasks?
GPU improvements would be absolutely great- as previously mentioned..
Also perhaps a possibility of changing color saturation on the screen (in addition to the already present brightness- akin to settings on laptop GPUs)?
I see from a lot of demo photos in review sites that the camera gives a slightly reddish tinge to the photos- in comparison to the photos from Galaxy tab- it will be great to have some sort of a s/w fix to improve the quality..
As mentioned before, stylus mode would be very nice..
Possibly some sort of audio processing (like beats audio processing on the HTC sensation android revolution ROMS)..
i would say make a couple themes for it now but mainly study the ICS source code so that when it lands on the prime you can make the best ROM's possible and release them quicker. but im all for a windows 8 theme as long as it truly looks like windows 8 which im not sure if you can do without a launcher but i think windows 8 if it's good will finally convince me to switch from mac

Android already does almost all of those things, without hacks. Silly ios sheeple.....

A transformer silhouettes or style theme (doesn't have to contain pictures of the primes or what not) or maybe a 2 tone theme of cybertron very stylized so it's clean and slick.
Excuse me if there are themes like this out already (regardless I would like to do so 2 tone art work) and I would like some old school transformer sound bytes in there for transitions. I'm envisioning more of a theme of what a computer UI would look like on cybertron or to a transformer and not just a generic cartoon theme. =)
