Because there is nothing that matches your request. Download the kitchen from the link above and have a go at building a "Pure" WM 6.5 ROM.
Good Luck
oops!.... Double Tap!
This is not the proper section of the forum for this request. This is most likely going to be locked and sent to the oblivion with the rest of the threads that are just like this one.
To keep it simple, you would probably want to use a kitchen and build your own stock ROM that way you can have what you want without people thinking you're snapping at them for replying the way you replied.. =p
Anyways the best thing about your phone is that you can flash until you're blue in the face so I would really just suggest trying what you want to try and going from there.
edit: Hue, you beat me!

I almost second that motion. However, HTC stuff is really not "third party" as you need most of that to at least make the phone functional. Third party software would to me mean anything NOT from MS or HTC.
I'm not going to close this down, but I will say if you want a clean ROM and there's not one here, learn how to cook.
Peace out.
You are not going to close this thread???? Oh, man... that is a surprise. The moderators are usually on top of it and immediately close this kinda thread...
Just kidding...

thank you.
but you're wrong, THERE IS A CHEF & i won't tell you who.
i'll post the rom after test. (actually trial & brick)

yes, but i don't need quickgps.
there's only 1 solution left:
choosing the stuff from the list & the modder will create the installer based on my list.

Here's the custom ROM I promised:
2010-01-21_Cap_Special_NO_MANILA_21889_FUZE.rar
I think I included almost everything I include in the other ROMs, just no version of Sense. On first boot, usage was at 32%, according to HTC Task Manager (and that's after Connection Setup ran). It's probably even lower on second boot.
Enjoy!
P.S. Let me know if calls show up correctly when the phone is locked. I neglected to include the HTC Lockscreen (and frankly, I don't even know if it'll integrate w/the old ATT S2A Dialer), but I can try that if there's a conflict.

[REQ] ROMs without HTC Messaging

Hi Guys,
as I have an Exchange 2010 Server here, that supports SMS Sync and I want to use it ;-)
Unfortunately this doesn't work with HTC Messaging, included in most of the ROMs.
Workaround is to use zeneyes disabling tool, but I experienced problems with that, as after a while SMS do not arrive anymore (not even on the phone!).
Then I need to disable Syncing, send an SMS, restart the device and enable Syncing again to get it working for 2 or 3 days again. (I testes with several ROMs, also Stock ones)
So my Question: Are there any ACTUAL Roms, provided without HTC Messaging Natively?
Former Elegancia was provided without, but the actual version is not available without HTC Messaging anymore :-(
If you have other solutions for the Problem, feedback is welcome too ;-)
Thanks in advance!
Cheers

More than that! NRGZs Roms are bloody perfect! Sexy! Ice Catching & I use both on my HD and HD2. ..... I hope to see add on cab to completely disable HTC people and contact!
I Love NRGZ ROM.... i'm using Reference ROM 1st Dec 2010 and it is perfect for my need... easily loading android.... thanks NRGZ for your ROM...
HI and thanks for your Tip
I will try it
Is there any ROM with a more HTC default theme or even WinMo Default Theme? I like Energy but the theme is too much for me. Never been a fan of the theming stuff.
You can try the Reference ROMs I make... pretty close to stock theme.
Other than that.. I dont know. Maybe the Artemis ROMs ?
and the answer is...
NRGZ is the way to go bro.. Period! You won't be dissapointed..
Thanks for this great tip!
Never tested these ROMs before and never seen SMS Sync that stable
Great Work!
Thanks a lot!

Try different dialers. There are a ton in the market. As far as I know, you can't change this behavior in the default dialer on a stock Samsung firmware.
Sounds like you want it to work like an iPhone. I'm not trying to be combative, but if that's so, why did you get rid of your iPhone?
You could always try installing MIUI, that ROM seems popular with ex-iPhone users.
The only way to get what you are talking about is to root your phone and install a custom ROM that is themed to how you like and has different mods to change things such as the dialer. These things cant be changed if they are stock. There are enough ROMs around to suit everyone. The hardest part is finding the one you like.

Take this for what it's worth... you're entering dangerous territory. You said yourself you are new to Android. Installing ROMs is not trivial, or something that should be taken lightly. I see more threads than I can count started by people who need help getting their phone working again because they blindly started flashing stuff when they really had no need.
And your only complaint at the moment is how the dialer functions. Why don't you slow down, and try out some dialer apps from the market? There are a ton of free ones. I know I suggested the MIUI ROM above, but I think this is better advice.
Lastly, ICS is still not officially released. Any ICS ROM out there right now is either based on a leak (and therefore full of bugs and is probably less than stable), or really a Gingerbread ROM themed to look like ICS.
thanks ctomgee
i try for some dialer, and i wait for official ics for s2

ICS is still in beta stage and giving advanced users problems so if you dont want to root and flash a custom ROM(GB not ICS) them maybe on the market you can find a 3rd party launcher while you wait.

[Q] How do you add tabs in Contacts and Phone app?

Hi all,
I have just installed lightning rom 2.5 and I have noticed that under both Phone and Contacts, there are missing tabs.
e.g.
Under Phone, the contacts tab is missing. I used to be able to slide to the right for more tabs.
How do I go about adding more tabs?
I tried searching but every time I add the word "tab" I get the Samsung Galaxy Tablet threads instead.
Also, under Security, the "SIM Change Alert" and "Remote controls" doesn't seem to be working, every time I tried checking the box, it freezes for awhile and then it says the setup has stopped working.
I wanted to post this in the lightning rom thread, but there's a 10 post restriction, and as such, I am posting here.
I hope someone can kindly help me.
Thanks in advance.
D
I don't know about remote control or sim change alert, but it is a well known change in ICS that those tabs are removed purposely, in their infinite wisdom. I don't agree with it, but it is what it is. One of the many reasons I'm staying on Gingerbread until find an overwhelming reason to go to ICS.
So if this ROM is ICS based, that's your answer.

That's cause Nexus S is running AOSP android, and Galaxy S series (including the GS2) runs TouchWiz, which Samsung, in their infinite wisdom, have modded to their liking.
Edit to add: Lite'ning ROM is based on Samsung stock, so it uses the same system apps. This will hold true for any ROM based on Samsung stock, unless the ROM chef changes out specific apps, like the phone in this case.

Thanks for the clarification. I am new to android and have been reading up on how to root/flash custom Rom on my TF201, SG2 and NS one by one. Took me several hours of reading and searching, but I have managed to get them all rooted/flashed without bricking any of them
This forum is loaded with heaps of info, but sometimes it's a bit hard to search for some specific stuff;the 10 post limitation on custom rom threads make it hard for me to ask for help from the author.
Just wondering... if S2's lite'ning ROM is based on Samsung stock (non AOSP), how do people change out specific apps?

You need to be rooted, and you replace certain apk files in the /system/app folder. But you need to be certain to use files compatible with your particular build of Android.

HTC Widgets on Galaxy S3?

Hi all. I just went from the HTC MT4G to an S3 on Tmo. While I love the S3 so far, there are a few things I miss from my HTC. The main thing is the HTC Calendar and it's widget. I figured out (by searching) how to bring over my ringtones and notifications, but when I tried copying and installing the Calendar.apk on my S3, but it says it can't.
How am I able to do this? Surely there has to be a way. I've tried searching, but can't seem to find what I need...

Most of HTCs applications have stuff and resources in the framework-res and htc.framework-res (or h/e it's named).
you COULD port it by porting the resources and then install the application.
But this is actually not easy.
The easiest thing you could do is search an alternative in the Play Store.
If I'm wrong, pelase correct me.
I hope I answered your question suitable.

You would have to port all of Rosie to get it working. All of HTC widgets will not work without the framework they created.
I believe there is a port for older Samsung devices but not the S3 as far as I know.
I guess I was hoping someone can steer me to a post on how to do this, or even provide some instructions...

I read somewhere you only need Rosie to get it to work.
Well, that should not be too hard...
Take a look at THIS THREAD
Read ALL POSTS CAREFULLY.
If you follow that steps and have the right tool for signing, you could get there.
Buy NigthMare a beer too when it works (NightMare is the who came up with the ideas on porting it in the above thread).
Good luck

I resized Rosie.apk once for a dev trying to do the same...
Try this one. Make sure to backup everything first. Note you don't install this as APK from within the running ROM.
