i cant send mms too.. when i make a new message and want to click on "insert", i cant. the font colour is grey, means option is not available...

You need to set the data connection to active (click the left side of the screen and download the latest data base) settings /wireless controls/data conection)
This is phone 101 stuff and search works

Dear P4k1t0
in order to be helped by the power in this forum.... you need to make precise pin-outs,
1. Which rom are you using?
2. make a manual hard reset after fresh wm6 upgrade already?
3. same situation when the Prophet is being newly use?( no 3rd party softwares)
4. radio rom version?
5. where are you?
In my own opinion, check your softwares and contact your TSP (Teleservice Service
Provider),
Actually, I am currently using Korand 3.1 with no problem at all, and many of the rest WM6
roms here I had tried and never like that before ( twice serious delay in receiving SMS and
had been proved that the mistake from the Teleservice-Provider.)
Good Luck and enjoy the warmth here... ^_^
Do you have that issue with tiagofa PT Qtek rom?
Hi first of all thnks for your replay

3. Yes... I have tried with some apps on... and with all apps off. With a hard reset to, and i have not receveing sms's
4. Radio .69.

Hi,
Your problem sounds more like a possible network issue rather than anything to do with your pda. Can you try your sim in an ordinary gsm handset, nokia, sony ericsson etc just for a few hours to see if it improves your service?
Check with your servoce provider and they can check the BTS in your area.
Hope this helps

Do you get the text message if you send one to yourself ?
Are you still getting voice calls thru without problem ?
When you send a text does this prompt the downloading of any sitting on the network ?
Is you PDA set for manual network selection or automatic ...? If auto, then change to manual.
Do you stay within the same area or do you travel around (30K radius) during the day ?
Is Jeyo Mobile your service provider ? What network do you use normally ?

Ask your service provider to send you a sim update.

Yes i have!... What is your ideia?
Arcsoft MMS should'nt make any difference as MMS are dealt with differently by the network.
Hve you tried switching to airplane/offline mode for several minutes and then back on again? If you try this do you then get texts thru ?
Check with your service provider for downgraded transmitters in your area or where you know you'll be using the phone during the coming days
Try using a different sim in your phone and see if it gets the same problems.
Sim update from service provider should refresh settings on the phone etc.
I'm not convinced your phone is the problem as there are lots of network related issues that can delay messages being delivered thru to your phone.
Do the messages come from any particular network ?
Time of day, possible network congestion in the area. Check with your provider and ask them to check the coverage for you.

i'm also having this problem with my sprint touch pro. i can't receive pic mail. it doesnt come to my phone. it takes hours. people have to let me know in advance that they sent me a pic mail and then i have to hit send receive to view the pics. very annoying. i called sprint and they tried trouble shooting with me which did not help me in anyway. they even removed the pic mail from my account and reinstated it. still no luck. any advice great ppl of xda?
I am having a similar problem with my Verizon Touch Pro, I receive pic/video messages fine If I am only connected to Verizon's data network, but if I am connected to WiFi it will not send or receive Pic or Video messages, text messages seem to work fine though. Any Ideas??
mms will not work unless connected to the verizon server
MMS is a data transfer from the Verizon network. if you are connected to wifi your phone's data connection is not looking for an internet connection, therefore will not request data packets (or anything else waiting on the verizon servers for you ie MMS). So, you would have to be connected to the data service in order for your phone to query for the waiting data packets.

Ok, that makes sense for RECEIVING, but why does it fail when SENDING, shouldn't it automatically connect to the Verizon Network to send if that is the case? Is there a registry tweak or change to change this?

At&t users with galaxy s2 international, mms problem need help please....

I am in the US and have a international galaxy s2 on AT&T...My phone is fully rooted, and I am currently running Batista70 FOXHOUD EDITION 2.1 but i cant seem to get my mms on a consistant basis....I have tried several roms so I am pretty sure it isnt that, I can send mms and have a great 3g signal but most of the time I cant recieve my mms...I can browse the internet and download from the market just fine but there again I cant seem to get the mms to recieve...It seems like on a fresh rom install i get the mms fine but then after a day or so I go back to not being able to recieve one at all...I have tried different apn settings and have made sure I am on the right AT&T data plan (HSDPPB) as mentioned in this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1109983) and I still cant get anything consistant on RECIEVING! It has really been agravating and I would love to figure out what I can do to get this working right, I dont know if it is the modem software??? Is it my apn settings??? I have tried different things and still nothing so any help would greatly be apprecitated and I have noticed alot of other people in threads seem to be having this problem so if we can figure it out I would love to make a thread to help out others...thanks in advance...
did you talk to your provider, they may have adjust or refresh your account settings from their end.

i have talked to at&t and finally got them to change my account and settings so I know for 100% that I am on the right rate plan and settings......
I to was having problems with MMS on ATT but my problem was sending them not receiving though. After I was sure I had the correct apn setting a customer services specialist had me do this. Try opening your phone dial pad and entering *5005*7672*+13123149810# then the green phone button. This is suppose to reset your sms/mms setting back with the network. Long and behold it fixed my problem of sending mms.
just to double check something - are you leaving your data (edge or 3g) enabled? disabling the phone's data connection will prevent mms from coming through.

Dialer search by last name and mms question?!

I've installed [ROM][XWLA4][FEB 23] CheckROM RevoHD™ V6 | Kitchen Pro v2.4. with siyah kernel. Everything is super fine ... but
In dialer ... when i am typing for person i would like to call it searches only on first names. Is there a solution to get names also with last names?
On the other hand ... is there a way to send MMS message without manually switch on "data" ?
Anyone could help me with this issues?
Thanks!
I would also like to fix the first part of the questions.
The second part works fine on my phone (I just send a MMS and that's it) so check your APN and roaming settings.
This can in my opinion only be fixed by changing the dialer. I have installed Rocketdial and this gives you many more options than the stock dialer. It also integrates with the phone fantastically. Try it!

Can't send MMS w/o enabling data

Hey, all!
Ever since i've picked up the amaze I've been having a mms bug. Can't send any pics w/o enabling the data first. When i hit send, it does display the 4g icon (i'm on stock ics, but it happened on gb as well), but in a minute or two the error message comes in. Once i enable the data and hit retry, it goes out smooth.
I haven't updated to a new sim-card yet (wi-fi calling wouldn't work on gb with the old one, but ics doesn't seem to mind), not sure if that's something to look into.
Let me know if anyone has any ideas
Thank you!

Mms is a data-reliant service, you need data enabled to send or receive. Thus...I would not classify this as a bug...

was it hard to just say you can click on the "mobile network" icon to bring up the settings tab vs the switch, as i had no idea it worked like that now? thank you.
Update: still no dice with the correct settings. 4g icons shows up and then i get the delivery error message. once the data is forced enabled from the drop-down, it's golden. very strange.
Without data enabled, you will not receive nor be able to send out mms. No way around it.

i understand that, but when sending mms, there should be a trigger (which i can tell it tries to do when i see the 4g icon appear right after hitting "send", except for nothing happens) for the mms data to be enabled just for the time it takes to send a particular mms, otherwise, what's the point to always have data enabled? none of the smartphones i've had, had this happen (sensation included).

Go into your apn settings and delete it or simply reset to default, it should auto download the correct settings, no idea how to make mms work WITHOUT data being enabled, I find that odd to be honest, but if it worked on GB, then I think you guys should stick to GB, just to save yourself some dollars.
It has been a while russianbear.. Anywho, what previous people have said is true, if you actually have data DISABLED, it won't come on for anything(how would the phone decide you want it on for MMS, but not something else like browser?). I used to roll around with data disabled a bit when I had gingerbread, so I can confirm it was the exact same way - you had to enable data to send mms - if it was off, nothing data related would work.
If you aren't worried so much about how FAST is sends MMS, you could always set it to 2g only, then your phone simply couldn't send much data at all.. or an awesome feature built into ICS - go to system settings then click usage - turn on set data usage limit, and set it REALLY low - this will keep ANYTHING that uses background data from sending/receiving, but any app you use in the FOREGROUND will work like normal - open browser or youtube and they would work like normal..
I'm sure there's another trick that would work, but I need more coffee.. good to see you again russianbear.

hey, man good to see you as well.
i'm sure i'm not tripping when saying you don't actually need to physically enable the data connection for it to send mms (none of my prior devices needed to) i've downloaded go sms pro and it works like the stock app should - i don't need to enable anything to send mms now (all options in that app are stock also). not a deal-braker to me, but still strange.

LOL, that may be why I didn't have issues.. I hate the stock messaging app, so I always used gosms. I'm not sure why you would use that ugly HTC goodness anyways, lol. Good to have you back bro
After much time trying to have MMS working without the data connection being active, I found that putting only "mms" in the APN Type setting does the trick (don't forget to save the settings before exiting the APN settings screen). The problem is that the setting is not applied without RESTARTING the device! So, change the setting to "mms", save, and restart.
You need to have the "Data active" option ticked, but there will (should) be no data connection for internet.
PS: I did this in another device, not the HTC Amaze. But it probably also works for you guys.

i've tried mms only, but still nada. it's ok though, i like go sms app anyway
Actually I send MMS and the message leaves but the person who receives the MMS gets an empty MMS message.
After much playing around with the device, I discovered that inserting a picture using gallery or the explorer that comes with the Amaze are all fail.
The only way I'm able to successfully send messages is inserting the image using ROOT Explorer. When I send MMS the person no longer gets empty MMS messages.
Now I'm using the CapcomCE ROM and it happened on SpeedROM 7.5
I downloaded the Gallery ICS from market and its the same story.
So basically if I insert pictures to send through MMS I have to use the Root Explorer or else the MMS messages are sent empty.
Has anyone had a similar experience?
