Change scrolling page method in hd2 - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys,
I'm running stock rom on my hd2. I'm currently using a program called uptodate, which shows alot of information in text. The way I scroll now is using the scroll bar on the right of the screen. However I find that quite difficult when there are huge amount of information on the screen.
How do I change it so that when I want to scroll down the page, I can just scroll down by pressing on the page itself, and not on the scroll bar on the right side of the screen?
Currently it will allow me to select text, but won't allow me to scroll down by pressing on the text part itself.
I read that this can be done before, but I cant seem to find it via searching.
Cheers~

Number of screens

Hi everyone,
I've searched the forums for the past hour or so trying to find out what the thing is that I'm looking for but haven't had any luck, so if anyone can point me in the right direction then I'd be really grateful.
My cousin has a G1 and recently installed one of the SuperCSDI ROMs on it. He showed me an option where on the home screen he presses menu and there was some sort of "Advanced Settings" button, and when he went into it, it allowed him to choose the number of home screens, which home screen was the main one (such as 1st (very left), or 4th (middle), etc) and number of rows of icons in the app drawer menu, as well as various other options.
I don't know if this is the "Advanced Launcher" app because from what I've read that only seems to let you choose "number of rows" but not the number of home screens.
So does anybody know which app/what I'm talking about and if so, is it possible to be installed on Hero either via an .apk file or by flashing a specific ROM that has this built in.
I only use 2 of the 7 screens available so I wonder if decreasing the number of home screens would speed up the phone in terms of RAM usage, etc.
Regards

[Q] Contact List Scroll Letter Tabs

Anyone know of a better app to manage the letter scroll in contacts. They are so little and hard to properly touch for me.
All ideas welcomed.
As opposed to grabbing the tab once you scroll?
Or just pressing the alpha letter on the far right?
You can use the google search bar if you have contacts searchable... or by pressing the search button if you dont use the widget.
I guess you know the scroll left/right to message/phone too right? If not, read the General Sticky.

Stock Browser Question

When I visit a forum scroll down to the bottom, and click on the next page, the browser remembers that I was at the bottom of the page and always opens new pages starting from the bottom.
Is there any way to change this behaviour? I've searched through settings, but I can't seem to find anything.

[Q] How to scroll wide status in app ?

Hi,
I make some search in this forum and in google and I have not been able to find an answer to my problem.
I'm a new Razr owner. Before I had a HTC Hero with trackball.
In whattsapp, I want to read a status which is wider than the screen. I'd like to know how to make it scroll. If I tap on it, I select the contact to write a message.
With the Hero, I used the trackball to scroll down to the wanted item to highlight it and the text began to scroll.
Now, without any kind of trackball, I've tried several way to highlight the item with a tap or a gesture, but no way to read the whole text making it scrolling.
Could someone help me ?

BULP7 update - have they ruined the standard browser?

Updated my Vodafone firmware about a week ago, now running the BULP7 4.0.3 firmware.
In the previous version of the standard browser, when scrolling down large web pages, you could reveal the task bar at any point by changing to scrolling up. Now you need to scroll all the way back up before the task bar can be revealed. I used to use this lots when wanting to select another bookmark, without having to scroll all the way to the top of the web page. There's a new sidebar that can be switched on at any point when browsing, but it doesn't let you access the bookmark icon.
Anyone have any advice? I've tried most browsers, but settled on the standard one when they implemented the task bar enabling in the last version, would prefer to stick with the standard browser - maybe I'll see if I can hunt down the previous apk.

By "task bar", are you referring to the address bar? It also shows when you press the menu button, doesn't it?
And I don't think my standard browser ever did this. (show the address bar when switching scrolling from down to up) Though, the newer versions of Dolphin Browser did.

I guess it is the address bar, and the previous version of the standard browser certainly made the bar visible when changing from scrolling down to scrolling up, regardless of whether you were at the top or bottom of a webpage. This was the only thing that meant stayed with the standard browser. But with the new version of the browser, you need to scroll all the way back up for it to be visible.

Ah, things are different on the ICS browser from the GB browser. Sorry. I'm unable to answer this question.
Aha, you mentioned the menu button made it visible. I've now discovered if I hold down the menu button it eventually makes the address bar visible. If I just select the menu button I get the menu list for browser settings.
Maybe not a complete fix, but I'll see how I get on with this.
Another tip for you is to hold the back button to get direct access to your bookmarks. Hope that helps out a little.
go into the settings menu then to lab and enable fullscreen and the other option then you can get a action to show address bar from touching the edge of the screen.
