Is it able to play music with being in silent mode? Cuz when I listen to music on my headphones , and recieve a message , I don't want either ringtone , or vibration. I find this "bug" really annoying...
Is there any fixes?

go into settings-> sound and display -> and set the "single volume" slider button to off. Then you when you use the volume rocker to change your volume you can mute the ringer volume while leaving the music(system) volume intact

This can't work since the SMS Sound is part of the system sounds...
So you still hear the SMS sound when you have Ring turned all the way down.
I also want to know how to do that!
Exactly , I already tried that method.
So I guess there's no solution for this problem.
Farewell then...
Typical issue:
- about to start some app that makes noise (game, paused music player, etc)
- trying to lower volume in advance, by using the volume button: doesn't work, controls the ringer volume instead as the phone is not playing any sound yet
- start app: LOOOOUUUUDDDDDD... until i can lower volume using volume button.
Question: any way to change the behaviour of the volume button so it controls AT ALL TIMES the media volume?
Thanks!
Don't know about any app that would do that, but you can go to sound settings before opening games, media, players, etc. and lowering the media volume before starting those apps.
Stick a finger over the speaker hole until you're able to lower the volume, it effectively mutes it. (except in very, very quiet environments)
Hi, I'm a newbie,
and i feel your problem as well.
Who in the world often change the ringer volume?
Most people will want it either at maximum volume, or minimum volume (off, at silent mode)
Most people (i believe i speak for most people),
would rather have the volume rocker to control the media volume.
Is there a better fix for this? Please help.
covering the volume hole is a nice trick, but its not really an effective solution.
Man who stick hole in finger better sticking finger in settings sounds and adjusting sound levels no ???

Does this only happens on the SGS2?
Or all android devices?

I use a "lock the ringer" app for this purpose alone.
If I could reprogram the volume buttons to always only affect the media, I could even get rid of the above app.
Loads of custom ROMs and custom stock ROMs have the option to have the volume expandable so when you tap the rocker the dialer volume appears but then there's a little settings icon at one end and you can tap that and media, notification and alarm volume all appear
Coming from an HTC phone, I had the option to "Use incoming call volume for notifications". It was an easy way for me to turn up and down all volume using the side volume rockers. I don't see this option for the note. I was in a meeting yesterday and thought my phone volume was turned off, but the notifications kept going off. It'd be so much easier if i could use the volume rocker to turn down the sound as opposed to going into the settings and manually doing it every time I want to change the volume. Any tips?
I use widgetlocker and have a volume slider on my lock screen, I always just slide it to vibrate
Hi,
I'm wondering for a long time on how to change the individual volume of different functionality. For e.g. the Ring volume and Music Player volume.
I always want to set the ring volume to the maximum. And when i get into the games or Zune, and when i start adjusting the volume it should not bring down my ring volume. It happens that while i hear music i set the volume to 15 and i forget to raise it up again. I results in I missing some of the phone calls because the ring volume is also in 15. Can somebody help in this. THANKS!!!
Regards,
Praveen
That it currently not an option. The only volume on Windows Phone right now is Master Volume. :|
Hello all!
I have a problem for a long time now but i did not had it when i bought the phone. When i am in-call, when i press volume down/up the microphone's volume is being adjusted. When i bought the phone, when i was pressing the volume up/down i could adjust the in-call earpiece volume. After a random moment, it changed and i could adjust the microphone's volume instead of the earpiece's that i want. Any workarounds to fix this problem?
Thanks!
