I've tried to edit a couple icons I've found to make my own shortcuts (basically changing colors) but whenever I do it leaves the icon with a background.
What program is out there to make an icon transparent..preferably freeware or something cheap?
Thanks

Using ADW Launcher EX and i want the 5 icon dock spacing but only 3 icons. So i would like to put 2 shortcuts in the empty spaces that do nothing - then make the shortcut icon match the background or dock so it is basically invisible.
So, anyone know how i can make a shortcut that does nothing - you tap on it and it does nothing.
Thanks for any ideas.
Hi,
I would like to use some icons for lock sliders using Widgetlocker, but I would like to change the default icons slightly. Basically I want the backgrounds on the icons to be different. Unfortunately I have no experience with Photoshop or any other graphics program.
The default dialer icon has a grey background (please see attachment). I would like to change it to the red background (also provided). Then the email/messaging icon I would like to have a yellow background exactly like the one shown behind the mute icon (I couldn't find that background alone without an icon on it already).
If someone with a bit of know how could please do this for me and upload the new icons. I have also provided some other icons as examples of other icons that have already been done with these backgrounds.
Thanks in advance
Hey all,
Hope you can provide some assistance. I got an all-white icon set, and modified a few .pngs in Photoshop to add color to match my theme. Backgrounds were transparent, displayed transparent in Photoshop, still opened as transparent after I exported them for web as png-24s with transparency preserved. However, as soon as I drag the icons over to the root of my storage card, my phone (HTC One) displays the once transparent backgrounds as black. What gives? I've tried using Photoshop 7, Photoshop CS6, and GIMP with the same results. I'm I missing something?
Hi!
Im using Flatisco icon pack and ive applied it to my Holo launcher on my Motorola Atrix 4G running CM11 (4.4.4).
Obviously, Flatisco does not support all my apps so i change thier icons manually, but i noticed that the icons i applied manually are framed with some random ugly color that i dont want. ( Screenshot added, look at HiroMacro, 2Lines for clash...).
How can i make those icons like the other icons, without the color frame? (Ex. Root explorer, Greenify, SuperSu...)
Thank you and have a good day!
Edit: had to resize the photo in order to upload.
Any ideas?
Hello folks
As a Deaf person I always put my phone (Fairphone, Android 4.2.2) in the silent mode. Unfortunately the system displays an icon for that silent audio profile in the status bar.
That icon steals space and I do not want to see it at all. No need to remind me that the phone is in silent mode.
Been searching through many many Xposed modules but none are capable of it.
Any clues how I can do it?
Thanks!
Michael
"Notify clean" was made just for this.

Great, thanks heaps man!
Wrong, this app cannot help
Hmmm, we are wrong, this app, NotifyClean cannot hide the audio profile icon!
I tried it many times with different settings and multiple reboots. Doesn't work.
I know it is two years later, but for what is worth, you can make disappear that icon in several ways:
- Try the app Flat Style Bar Indicators, the Pro version includes hiding audio icons (silence and vibrate). The app also changes other icons (even if you don't want to).
- Substituting the icon file, which will still occupy space in the statusbar. You can do it with the app SystemUI Icons or transferring a new .png file into your SystemUI.apk package.
- Decompile your SystemUI.apk and change the smali code that makes it appear (I recently explored this to make disappear an audio icon, it is complex but a neat solution):
