Good evening folks. WOuld anyone mind sharing any success or failure returning a gtab to tiger direct? I just ordered it on 4-6. The other question is that I put the new kernel etc and new image on it. Is that something that is a no no?
I would like to consider getting something else but im hoping it can be returned. any advice?
I don't know about their return policy, but if US Merchants keeps their word the OTA Updater will be fixed by tomorrow - you should update the firmware right away, imo. I heard that the TD models are very old firmware.
ive already updated it to TNT etc. it works fine. I am just not using it at all, so id like to send it back. my main question is about the fact that its not the stock rom. will tiger take it back even though i modified it? or will they only accept a stock rom back
thanks
I would run with the assumption that you will have to get your unit back to a stock ROM before you send it back. Do you really want to risk them denying your return because you didn't take the time to flash it back to stock?
yeah, good point.
i havent seen many threads on getting it back to stock. if anyone has a link id love one. ill try to search as well.
so i would need to get the stock rom on, as well as the stock kernel etc too right?
There are a few ways to get it back to stock. You can just flash a stock ROM -- for example, one of these:

hey roebeet. i want to thank you for all your contributions. very much appreciated.
so if i use nvflash, will it get rid of CWM, the kernel i installed , etc?
i want to get it back to Out of box mode.
thanks
nvflash (the 1105 one) one will make it completely 2967 stock, even recovery. The only other things you'd want to do is 1) a factory reset (to wipe data) and 2) remove anything you left on /sdcard.
I had Magloader and WP7 in it. As time went by I upgraded to HD7 and never looked back. It's been a while since I have touched XDA and WM6.5.
My assumption is that even with Magloader, you only have to flash your stock ROM and it'll revert back to WM.
Mine won't go on and I suspect that I flashed a Non-Tmobile compatible ROM. Can someone confirm that this is the case? Here's the ROM string: RUU_Leo_HTC_WWE_1.43.405.1_Radio_Signed_15.26.50.0 7U_2.04.50_22_2_Ship.exe
I understand completely that if I messed it up then it's messed up. I just wanna make sure there might be other solutions or something I am missing out.
-Thanks in advance!

Is this a final answer? I need to know if it's bricked and nothing else can be done.
Anyone thinks a shop may be able to recover it back? It won't go on at all..

Sometimes, it´s easier than you think.
You´ve got 2 options to get rid of HSPL. One of those options would be simply described in the original thread of HSPL.exe software. If you would have checked this program a little bit, you would have noticed the very fact that you can select what SPL or HSPL you want to install.
Second, you can flash your stock ROM via SD card method, this will replace HSLP and everything else - this does not work using RUU.exe via USB.

By the looks of the radio installed (2.04.50_22_2), I would say that you did brick your T-mobile phone. Take a look at the following thread for a possible solution to unbrick your phone:

Hi thanks for the response Lavell. Would MTTY be able to do anything?
The phone doesn't turn on at all, or it seems.
I've never bricked one before so Idk if this is the way it happens.
its gone. dead. it will need JTAGging or a new mainboard.
that thread wont help, the phone wont power on, and that thread requires you can get into bootloader.
that's a really early rom you used, the tmous didnt even exist when that rom shipped.
If you want to get rid of it let me know please!!!
Hey guys, don't mean to hijack the thread but I got the same problem here.
Had WP7 but could not use 2g so I went back to MAGLDR113 and installed the file below:
RUU_Leo_HTC_WWE_1.43.405.1_Radio_Signed_15.26.50.07U_2.04.50_22_2_Ship
It went all the way to 100% but now the phone is dead. Computer makes a sound when I plug in usb but I have tried changing batteries and all but it doesn't work.
Does anyone know in Dallas or areas around how to do that JTAG thing?
There is no proper documentation on how to go back to stock 6.5 Windows or at least I could not find one

At its most basic, its the same for ALL hd2's, ,
1 get the correct stock rom for your region&vendor
2 flash it
thats it.
Sadly lots of times this is shortened to
1 get stock rom
2 flash it
and people just assume they can use any stock rom, and since they usually already have HSPL installed, it allows the flash to start, and tmous phones die.
Yeh think the HSPL installer should of had a TMOUS version either blocking known bricking radio & ROMs or just an on screen message warrning & advising on checking before comencing with flash.
At end of the day it is the users fault for not researching or using a TMOUS rom to be 100% safer !

Hey there people, first I wanna thank you for great community.
So I flashed a new rom (like i do every week ), of course I always have an efs backup (ktool and ARIZA).
this time after the phone rebooted the IMEI just didnt work,(exist but doesn't work), I've been contacted with the carrier and send the phone to repair.(and flashed a carrier stock rom of course).
they said the IMEI is "****ed up" and they changed it with JTAG, don't know about board switching.. they gave me the phone with stock rom so I flashed a new one, this time when I did the phone just gone back to the old IMEI (the one that doesn't work), I gave it back to them and they changed the IMEI again.
now I would like to flash a new rom and I dont want it to get back to the old IMEI..
you think if I'll back up the new IMEI and then flash the new rom (the IMEI will just go back to the old one) i could just restore it?
or is there any way I could flash a new rom without it would go back to old IMEI ??

Instead of bumping posts go to the service centre .
Your question and what's happened is beyond my understanding .
Only your carrier / vendor / Samsung can lawfully change an IMEI .

I know that, and I did.
I've been contacted with the carrier and send the phone to repair.(and flashed a carrier stock rom of course).
they said the IMEI is "****ed up" and they changed it with JTAG, don't know about board switching
now I have a stock rom and I'd like to flash a new rom, don't want it to go back to the old IMEI

Two choices one flash new rom or two dont flash new rom .
You say the service centre changed your IMEI so you now have a new IMEI .
jje
yes they did. I have a new IMEI, one that works but they game it to me with stock rom, I'd like to flash a new rom, and every time I do.. the old IMEI is being restored, my question is if I'll back up the new IMEI and flash a new rom (the old IMEI will come back) I could just restore it from back up?
I didn't find someone with the same problem

What JJEgan is trying to say, I think, is that talk of changing IMEI is taboo in these forums. You would be better off asking your service centre about the IMEI reverting to the old one after some time. Not about the custom ROMs of course.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Yes in a way IMEI is not a topic that can go to far .
Real reply is the IMEI has legitimately been changed the user is looking for another user with the exact same situation i guess . But their is none so he bumps and bumps posts .
Why the f*** would old IMEI come back if its been legitimately changed .
So as i said flash your rom or go back to the service centre to clarify .
END.

Hey guys....I know there are several similar threads but I just have a quick question.
Rooted my vzw GS4 no problem with bhp090808's great all in one tool yesterday. Also installed TWRP.
For some reason my internal mic completely quit working in the past 3 hours...I can't answer phone calls or even voice search (speakerphone works though). I assume it's some sort of hardware failure.
about to do this so I can take my phone back for an exchange tomorrow.
http://www.sxtpdevelopers.com/showthread.php?t=237
Will that take it completely back to stock including recovery? Do I have to separately get back to stock recovery to get rid of TWRP first?
Thanks a million.
Yes that's a purely stock version.
so my phone got messed up and the touch screen doesnt work at all. when that didnt work, i booted into odin and restored everything back to stock. Are they still gonna be able to see the number of times ive flashed?
they are sending me a new phone and I have to return the other one when it comes in.
are they gonna charge me for voiding my warranty? ANyone else have to send in their device and forget to clear their binary counts?

You should root again and download Triangle Away and reset it. Then Odin back to stock.
+1 the message above is the correct answer, do it, I do not know about Verizon, but Att will charge your account for bricking a device, if they see you rooting and such. This is experience from reading these issues in the G3 days.
