SMS sent notification - S740, S743 General

Most people in these forum try to find ways to disable the "sms sent" notification. However it's no problem for me and it helps a lot in low-signal areas.
However, I got another problem.
In some point recently the notification changed sound, without me doing anything.
I searched through these forums and the only thing I could find is this topic:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=557350&highlight=sms+notification
I changed the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Notifications\{A877D65B-239C-47a7-9304-0D347F580408} Wave into \Windows\Alert-Exclaim.wma (my old sound) but the sound remains the same.
Anyone know how to I can change this sound again? Is there another reg key I should change?
Moreover I found out that current used sound is inside the Windows folder with the filename "Default".
Any help would be greatly appreciated
And even if you dont know but you still use the notification, could you please check your registry entries and tell me what you see?

I think you edit a wrong reg key ...in my device this reg key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Notifications\{A877 D65B-239C-47a7-9304-0D347F580408} is for new message received notification ...I'm not sure but I think the sound for sms sent notification is here "settings -->sounds -->warnings"

Are you sure that it is that?
In mine it still has the same under Warnings. If you change it does it change the "message sent" sound?

This might have been the thread you thought you saw.

I don't think this does what you want though. Doesn't it stop when you press ignore? I can't think of it right now. Maybe you just want any button to do this, but then you couldn't answer. Maybe explain this one more.
I think hes talking about the same issue im having with my phone. Actually I have two different issues that are somewhat related...First, i think he's talking about the text message ringer. For example...if i set a ringtone to my text messages(songs that is) and i recieve a text message, there is now way to shut the ringer off...it just keeps playing and playing and vibrating and vibrating....the only thing that will make it stop is a power down or soft reset.....whats even weirder is if i recieve a text message while the first message is ringing it plays the ringtone a second time in the background...so not only can i not stop the first one but there a second one that i cant stop either...PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!....now for the second issue....i downloaded mring for my phone and it allows me to stop the problematic ringer from before by pressin any button on my phone (GREAT!!!!!!!!) no, not great...when i set my text messages to ring and vibrate it rings, but no vibration occurs...and if i have it on vibrate only...it doesnt vibrate either....at first i thought it was problem with my phone, but the vibration on telephone calls works fine...it's only text messages...PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS!!!!!! if anyone can fix the problem im having with mring that would be great cuz i want to continue using that program seeing as how i purchased the product and now that im having that problem its basically useless...

29 views and no responses....does anyone on ths site know anything about phones...obviously not...
hi i am fairly new too this stuff and what i think is happening for the first issue may not be happening.....but only a professional can correct tht....when a txt message ringtone plays it basically plays the whole song or ring..before it stops....it almost as if when u recieve a text message windows media player launches in the background and just plays till the end....but it dose not do that for phone calls because any musical content or data service is stopped the second you recieve a phone call...as for the vibration issue i have no idea what too tell you oon that...but what u can try is use small sound files as ringers tht way they wont overlap each othereaside from tht i think there is a registery key tht you can change to achive a limited time ring when a text message is recieved....
as for the reg key you will have to search the forms for tht i believe....
What i do is crop my songs / sounds for text messages. I crop them to about 2 seconds or a little bit more and I dont worry about ongoing sounds playing.
Also you can change the settings on your phone to vibrate and ring, ring, vibrate and so one. See if any of those settings are interfering with your notifications.
Ive tried all of your suggestions in the past..the whole reason im using songs as ringtones is so that im aware of when im recieveing a text...if i wanted a 2 second ringer id use a stock one...guess the problem is unfixable...thanks for th input tho

unchangable notification tone

Hi there..
I have the t-mobile G2 TOUCH, hero that is, and I cant seem to find out how I could change the ringtone for my notifications.
The thing is. When I change it like it should normaly work, it keeps on giving me the lousy and way to loud t-mobile notification sound.
when i receive a mail it does give the chosen sound, but when i receive a text message it gives me the **** t-mobile tone again.
I did i guess everything i could (to getting the maps on the root for ringtone, alarm and notifications. I can see the files, but like i said before, i only hear them on my email receiving and not my text messages.
anyone familiar with this problem and if so, got an answer, or should i go back to the store and swap the fone now it is still possible...
thnx
The message tone is different to the notification tone. Go to messages - menu - settings - sound and change it there.
you most definetly are my hero
alsmost returned the poor thing haha
i never guessed that nor would i have found that one!
many thanks
Your welcome

Phone calls - Number Pad Usage

I did a search and couldn't find anything. I don't frequent these boards either so if anyone has reported this problem, please direct me to the right post...
I am using Community Rom 1.3 with the Nitro Honeycomb 4.3 theme.
I am having a problem to where when I call a phone number that uses touch tones to select options. Example: Press 1 for English...etc. Pressing the number on the number pad does not do anything. I've tried normal and speaker mode.
Anyone else experiencing this problem or know of a fix?
Thank you!!
I know it worked when I had my old cell phone but I haven't used my Fascinate that way yet. I checked the Settings - Call Settings and found a setting for DTMF tones. Maybe it would help to set it to the Long option? Good luck!
Hey, I just Googled and found this:
http://lgknowledgebase.com/kb/index.php?View=entry&EntryID=6452
Using the same setup, my keypad works just fine. The keys don't make any noise (I have touchtones turned off), but was able to make my selections without issue

Hey, I just Googled and found this:
Click to collapse
Changing the DTMF to "Long" worked great! I should have thought of that. I really appreciate the reply.

Incoming text alerts while on a call (ICS)

I'm not getting alerts while on a call. Is this a carrier feature? If so, I'm quite surprised; seems like it should be a hardware thing.
Basically, I've tried "Settings/Call/Additional Settings/Call waiting", but I get "Unexpected response from network", and can't change the value.
And I can't find any other relevant setting.
(Please, don't direct me towards "Settings/System....." as this doesn't exist on ICS)
Cheers
Bump
I think Handcent and SMS Pop-up have this option in their settings. I couldn't find it in Settings, so using one of those apps is probably your only option.
