Imate Jasjar help?? Please? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My i-mate is bricked, and doesn't work. Only the red light comes on when I charge it. When I do a hard reset, the screen briefly comes on, asks me whether to do the hard reset or not, and then when I press 0 to continue it shuts off again. Any suggestions to un-brick it? I heard that installing the ROM update would work, but I can't find the download anywhere! Does anyone know where I can download it? And, I can't go to the I-mate website because they closed down last year! Please help, my phone was really expensive and I want to get it working again.

i have the same problem
please i need the original ROM for the i-mate JASJAR

Hi,
Please note that the HTC Universal (Imate Jasjar) threads have been relocated to the section of the "Legacy devices" that you can find in the top section of the forum's homepage.
For this specific request, I would advise you to check one thread there (almost a wiki within itself!) , compiled by Orb3000, regarding many available information pertaining to the Universal : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=567017
And, one of the links there direct you to another topic mentioning actually available roms for download: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=637855
Finally, your symptoms seem to mimic the problem described on the topic "For All Those Who Stuck In The Boot Screen", that you can find here...: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1097645&postcount=4

To All, my plea

To All and specially moderator,
I recently just lost all rom image and now my himalaya are totally dead, because I try to upgrade software from a program.
Probably you have seen many of these posting from a newbie like myself. Speaking of the truth, even after browsing many hours in this forum I still have no Idea at all how to restoring my operating system.
Well, my plea is, could one of the senior/expert on this forum to post new instruction how to restore the rom (even how to upgrade to wm2003SE, one by one, not just reverting to old post) I believe many of newbie ( lack of software knowledge) have the same problem with me.
Thank you.
Regards.
Do you get anything on screen, do you have "serial", when you connect to usb do you get "usb" on screen. If yes then you just need to download original rom for your phone and restart flashing procedure. If there is nothing on screen I cant help, sorry.

Help - Please

Sorry for annoying every one here. The problem with phone is this.
I have a O2 XDA Mini S which I recently bought. The person I bought it off had removed the O2 stuff with some other ROM. There was a few niggly problems mainly the symbol keys were assigned to the wrong keys etc.
I followed a link on the O2 website which said it was an upgrade. I installed this and it appears to actually have "downgraded" the phone. Now my phone once again has all the O2 branded stuff, I'm not an O2 customer. I'm on Meteor in Ireland.
I've tried downloading almost every file I could find related to this. New ROMs etc but once I try to install them the screen goes RGB and I get Error 300 invalid update tool
As I said I've try almost all links I can find to rectify this with no joy.
Could some very nice person out there, talk me through the steps to get my phone back running with an up to date ROM?
I'd greatly appreciate it guys. I'm a total newbie at this so I hope you'll take it easy on me
you need to use shelltool.
you will find it at the top of the G4 forum.
hope this helps.
Thanks Stabloid.
I'll give that a try when I get home. Do I just run the shell tool and then install the ROM?
Hey Stabloid,
I downloaded Shelltool. Unfortunately there was no instructions with it.
From what I could figure out I put the two cab files on the xda/ wizard and installed them there. I rebooted the xda then tried running the shell tool.
I've tried it a few times. I let the program run for an hour last night and nothing happend it just kept saying "Do not disconnect..."
The other error I kept getting was "please make hard reset" followed by a list of instructions which I followed and yet still got the same results.
Can someone please help me out with this or supply full instructions for the shell tool?
Thanks.

[Q] Help a Newbie

Hi...
I've been trying to run Froyo on my HTC HD2 (UK Provider - O2) and ran into problems.
I followed the instructions.
I updated the HSPL to 2.08 on my phone
I switched off the backlight as advised
But - when I started the install, it freezes after a few lines and the phone gets stuck on a black screen so I need to remove the battery to boot again.
Its been suggested that I need to flash the custom ROM and upgrade the Radio. No idea how to do this so....
Any chance of some step by step instructions from the experts and also what to expect. Will it wipe my contacts list etc?
I know its a pain but greatly appreciated.
Many thanks.
Quick Suggestion
Just an idea dude, read the sticky's before posting....

Someone else has probably had the same issue, or similar. Have a THOROUGH search in the Q&A Forum then ask the question. Keeps things tidy that way

Unable to start wifi

G'day fellow XDA devs
Sorry if i have placed this in the wrong forum
I have a MID (chinese) tablet with 2.2 on it. This item was bought from e-bay. I asked the seller if it could be upgraded (he posted a link) and after i ran the update file and try to turn on the wifi, it says Unable to start wifi. I ran it through logcat and it said "error loading Wi-fi driver" I have tryed everything; factory reset, reinstalling the OS (there os only one that can bbe put on there) and i cant restore it. I have looked around at other forums and posts, but nothing seems to help
Please help!!!
