My friend has the. Inspire. And a cool feature of his keyboard is when he rubs his finger across multiple letters. It moves his blinking line around. I have a hard time going back through text if I have made a mistake. Is there a keyboard I can get for the attic like that?
Thank you!

Its called Swype and it came preinstalled on your Atrix. On your phone go to a messaging or email app, anything where you would normally input text. Hold your finger down in that area and you will get a popup, select input method, swype.
Ahh crap.. Ty! Not exactly what I had in mind but it works!

I see, you mean the cursor. Now that you have Swype installed, on the botom left of your keyboard swype from the "s hand" button to the "sym" button. Now you have cursor controls.
Check out thumb keyboard in the market. Had cursor control and different themes.

SwiftKey has a new beta version on the market. Try it out, i like it very much.
Just wondering what the MoPho's and Mo'lec's (?) are using for a keyboard.
I got Thumb Keyboard on Amazon's FAD promotion, and I was using it, but it's a little too liberal with its space bar, Delete/L, and Shift/A, and its word prediction doesn't take this into account. Say you want to type "Facebook", it comes up "afacebook" because it registers Shift as A, and "Facebook" isn't a word suggestion. And you can be tapping a bunch of Deletes, and all of a sudden it starts inserting L's. Or spaces for N's. Not sure what to do about that.
I gave Swype another chance, and I like it, but the options are kinda sparse. I tried to install the Swype beta, and it said it was not available for devices with Swype preinstalled. Figured I could fix that, went into Titanium, backed it up, and deleted it... Swype Beta then downloaded the latest Swype. It looks better, not sure if they improved it.
It seems like there are some things Swype doesn't like to do. The long-press delay for symbols is too long, and brand names are tricky. It let me Swype AirDroid, maybe because that app is installed and it pulls from that, or it's just common enough to be in Swype's dictionary. I don't know.
I never liked the swype gimmick, but I'm giving it another chance. I find that it's great for generic messages, stuff that's in the dictionary. It's when you get to stuff it doesn't know that you spend just as much effort as tapping.
So... what are you guys using, and why do you prefer it?
I was using perfect keyboard but I had the same problem with L and delete. Also when I hit the space bar a lot of times it'd take me to the home screen. That gets old quick when you've got a whole text written out and lose it. So don't use perfect keyboard.
I've tried a few other keyboards but right now I'm using the keyboard that comes with CNA and I'm good with it. Flash CNA and give it and the keyboard a try or ask someone what keyboard it is. I will not use swype again. I even tried a hybrid swype/normal and it still sucked.
Swift Key is pretty good when it comes to prediction...currently using swype though...haven't found one I'm completely happy with.
I like flex T9 got it as faotd a while back seems to for me better than swype.

Flex T9 was my keyboard of choice on my last phone, but I ditched it for Thumb Keyboard. Might have to revisit it. Also got it free on Amazon.
Never had luck with SwiftKeyX.

SwiftKey X all the way!! Used Swype but I never liked it a lot to replace SwiftKey.
The new beta key layout kinda sucks cause I don't like how the ? mark key got replaced
I think different keyboards work for different hands. so a bit of experimentation does wonders.

Experimentation is the best way to learn what works for you, but you hit the nail on the head there. Hands, and personalities perhaps. The precise, the sloppy, and everything in between.

SwiftKey 3 beta. Previously using the Swype beta (shame the included Swype version is an older one). Smart Keyboard Pro was my go-to before that.

I can't find anything I like more than Smart Keyboard Pro. I install the English dictionary, turn the long press delay way down, increase key height, turn off haptic feedback, switch it to the HTC skin, and turn off dynamic key resizing. The only issue I have has been in every ICS based rom, the keyboard will freeze periodically and I'll just have to hit back and select the text box again to resume typing. It hasn't been enough of an annoyance yo make me switch.

SwiftKey 3 beta for sure.

Flex T9 on Photon and Thumb Keyboard on tablet.
Keyboards are a big thing for me, at any given time I have around 6-8 different keyboards installed.
Just for grins I installed the new Swype beta and it is a huge jump over what comes stock on the phone. I just wish it was easier to update.
I'm also trying out the new Swiftkey 3 beta and it's looking pretty good so far. Not much to say yet as this keyboard is really suppose to shine as you use it more so I've committed to using it over the next couple of weeks.
Better Keyboard 8
I got it before it got pulled from the market because of the idiot dev
I'm not one for predictive keyboards, but it has really wide keys
I've been using swiftkey x since I got it as the faotd on Amazon app store.

I've converted to the SwiftKey 3 Beta. It's... so good.

I would love to know the answer to this as well. I used swype since my Driod 1. I loved it. Since upgrading to cm7, CM9, and now MIUI, I miss my Swype the most.
I am running cm7.2..cougars version. I don't know if there's a compatible Swype for ics yet..someone please correct me if i am wrong!

I am not rooted yet or anything but I do plan on doing that later on. I want stand the auto correct on this keyboard. Like it drives me crazy so I switched to ics keyboard from play store and it's amazing as it should be. Here is the issue when I misspell something they don't show the little red line so I know. And for my line of work that's important. thank u in advanced

I'm looking for a better keyboard too! I'm not crazy about the stock keyboard either.

Beansoft just put a JellyBean keyboard version up on Google Play. The predictive text is supposedly much more improved compared to ICS keyboard.
Download it and follow the setup instructions.

I downloaded and installed swype beta from the swype website and I'm pretty impressed. I'm sticking with Swype Beta for now till they come up with something better.
I think keyboard wise, SwiftKey has got to be the best. It tailors to you. My wife runs Swype beta on her phone and it mispells every other word while SwiftKey hasn't let me down.

I installed the stock ICS keyboard here http://www.technostall.com/how-to-install-stock-android-4-0-keyboard-on-samsung-galaxy-s3/
It shows a blue line if the word is misspelled or it can't find the word in the dictionary, in the field the word with the three dots underneath is the correct spelling of the word it thinks you're trying to spell. You can either tap that to correct spelling or if auto correct is enabled when you hit space it will auto correct it to that word. If the word is so misspelled that there is no suggestions then it assumes the word you're spelling is either a pronoun or txt lingo. But I do agree there should be some option is have a line underneath any word that's misspelled or otherwise not recognized so you can review before sending the message.
I found this thread and wanted to share the keyboard. Download the apk and install. Go to settings>language and input>and make it available with a check mark. Now go to a text message with the keyboard showing and long press the space bar and chose the non-ASOP keyboard. Done.

The traced popup suggestion looks goofy - glad it isn't the final version - but the keyboard works well. Good find and thanks for sharing. This makes using the phone with one hand way easier.

Not as good as swipe beta 1.3.1 but not too bad.
Is that simple download and enjoy http://bit.ly/skflowbeta
This beta is open so I'm pretty sure this link should be fine if there are any complaints please let me know

I've been using it for a couple hours now and, so far, the gesture/swiping (or whatever you want to call it) recognition is decent but not as reliable/accurate as Swype or even the 4.2 keyboard. Swift key has been my favorite keyboard for a while now so I'm definitely looking forward to this coming along.

its awsome, i love the new space swipe thing. Only thing i miss is the left swipe to delete the last word you typed.
It's not bad. Sometimes it's pretty laggy visually, other times it's fine.

I agree on this part, but want to give it a good test drive.
I love the swift key flow, I think it is better than swype keyboard.
Sent from my SO-03D using Tapatalk 2
in my experience today i have found it to be exteremly responsive and FAR more accurate then the sense keyboard or 4.2 for that matter. I ditched swype a while ago but I'm in love with this thing. Is everyone set up for precise or rapid? rapid has yeilded better responses when gesture typing for me
Liking it mostly. I just don't like that I can't click on a word and have it bring up other words you might have wanted, ala what swype does. I find myself having to change quite a few words.
Anyone get the flow without a space for a sentence to work? I tried it on a pretty basic sentence and it just double vibrated at me and did nothing.
Kind of a lag on a tablet but I like the effects going to try this on my nex4

Really bugs me that in a "name" field or box, it won't let me swype. Have to enter each letter individually. Haven't found the setting to change that yet...
So far I'm really liking it! Honestly I never really liked the "swipe" style typing but I've been using it on the stock HTC keyboard and now I'm hooked! I have been a huge fan of swift key and have the pro version paid for four a long while now.. Their predictive text is just great and adding the swipe text "flow" is really cool.

May be it's the amount of time I've spent on Swype, I didn't find flow as accurate and fast as Swype
I've been using swype for a couple years and this seems to get what I'm trying to type better and definitely seems smoother, I do miss a few things from swype though like the swype button to a, x , c, and v for select all and copy paste. Is there a different way of doing this or just not available?

Its still in beta and there is a feedback link within the settings of the app im sure they are open to suggestions!
and im definitely and advocate for swype but i find the individual key entry which is so necessary to be far to clunky and innacurate where as this finds a happy medium that im very satisfied with. also folks remember this is beta so they will be releasing a polished version sooner or later. if you have complaints voice them from within the apps feedback section
I find the prediction on Flow to be worse than Swype, but it would be servicable if not for not showing multiple predictions when typing on a word. If you make a mistake it takes a while to correct it, but that's to be expected with a beta. It has potential working off of SwiftKey 3's great prediction software.
