Confirmed
I went to Cyrket to try to get you the barcode to download it, but its not up there yet, however if you go to the market and search "samsung" they are the 3rd and 4th app down

Anyone notice the Car Home doesn't have the music player in the default screen? Quite a big omission I think to leave out music player for car use.

same on droid and all the others... the car home app seems to just be a skinned version of the same app on droid from when i had it. on the droid people eventually made custom car apps with music player on them.
Same with me I re-flashed my Vibrant to original following this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=728698
Everything seems normal except I can't play my backed up Avatar movie and cannot find some market apps such as the Samsung apps.
I see it 4th and 5th down when searching for "Samsung" on the market.
Rooted Vibrant as well.

ditto. I even asked the question in the car dock accessories thread, because i assume that these apps were on the phone but "hidden" and only activated when they were put into the samsung dock/cradle. Silly me
P.S. the Home one hurts my eyes...but i love it! this screen is sooooooo bright!
Ive recently bought the Desk Mount from a store i U.S but I can´t find the desk home app on Market.
I have tried to download the .apk from a different source but get fc when I start the app.
I´m on a International Galaxy S.
Anyone know how I´m, supposed to get the desk home app to work?

Music player does show up on my home screen for the car app. Also the layout is vertical not the way that is down on the picture. Maybe its different for the states and canada

I searched the market with my g1 and it didn't come up.
Is it possible that it will only show up in search if searched with a US varient of the Galaxy S?

I had to flash to pre-release firmware for my vibrant and couldn't see them in the market...they are nice...thanx again...
Car dock on G1
I was able to install the car Dock on my G1, although the deskhome fails to install. No explanation, just says failed to install. I was doing it through Astro
It looks like that Samsung has released a new version of the Samsung Car Home and Dock Home Apps that would not work after the 2.2 Upgrade. The problem, for me, is that the Google Market reads my carrier at AT&T and thus won't let me install because it is "Not Available for my Carrier."

I will not start begin a tirade into why this single requirement is a determinate for what apps I can and cannot download on my device. Anyone who uses XDA has, more or less, decided that freedom > control. If anyone can post up the APK's I would really appreciate it -- I don't know any other way to get these apps. Thanks all!

Thank you sooo much - wasn't getting anywhere with finding these or the Google Car Home app (AppBrain has Google Car Home listed in it's market, but if you try to download it re-directs to the Google Market & gives a not found message).
Now off to mod a USB lead to trigger the Car Dock automatically...
I managed to download these from Samsung Apps, but the Desk Home keeps force closing when i try to select the city. Is this happening for anyone else?

Wow, Google's Car Home is much better. This one you can't add any custom icons to the launcher AT ALL. Unfortunately neither this one nor the Google one shows up in the market for me, and I have no idea why (on T-Mobile, and they don't even show up when using an official ROM)...
Attached to this post is the Google CarHome app version 2.2.1.4. Both files need to be pushed to /system/apk to work.
If anyone, of course, has a NEWER version, that would be awesome.

Not surprised, I posted those over a year ago, before ICS was even available....
I find mini apps tray (show / hide dock at bottom), with apps showed that I couldn't modify, quite annoying. Searched internet for solution - modifying it or removing it fully, but no success...
Does anybody have an idea how to remove or modify this tray?

I've no clue what you are referring to. "Mini Apps Tray" is a feature of Touchwiz UX 4.0 though.
Hehe, what you see is the apps you have used recently. Do some search on YouTube on Honeycomb and watch so you can see how honeycomb work and how you use it

On the bottom in that pic? That is touchwiz.... hasn't been released yet. So unless you are sleeping with somebody at Samsung who hooked you up, I'm confused.

To the direct left of the time display on the bottom bar, sometimes little notification app icons are shown there - kinda like in windows task tray. For instance, someone at bestbuy installed some speedometer app on the tab and it showed a little icon in that area. When you tapped it it said, enable gps for speedo to work (well I'm getting a little off topic) Anyway, I could not figure out how to get it out of there and it started to annoy me because it was a really ugly icon...
EDIT: Now that I reread the original post, it does seem like he is talking about the touchwiz app tray...
Am interested to know if there has been any progress with modifiying the Touchwiz Mini Apps tray. Is it possible to add Apps to it as I can't find a way to do it at the moment?

you can remove them easily and romove the miniaps tray but i cant get anything to run as a miniapp or even put a shortcut there :L

you can get them to run because it is just more then adding an app to make it work. Samsung has kept this source to themselves. so we cant change those apps until they do.

I have been using this on my PC and phones for quiet long time, but its tablet version hasn't been available on market is a different story! Despite the fact that in its description (on the Market) where states that it's compatible with "Samsung Galaxy Tab series" BUT being shown "incompatible with your device" by Market!
Now, going to try this on my GT-7500 and see if it really work!

can you please post the apk? It isnt available to download for asus transformer(galaxy is 99% the same chipset-wise so apk will work)

the only way to fully exit the app is quitting it out completely.
Well something is still running..its in my notification panel. I see its signed out but can you tell me the steps to remove it from the notification?

when you click then signed out notification icon, then hit the menu key to quit out completely.

I'm getting it as well, along with a bunch of people who also posted this problem today on Android Central. To fix it, long press on the notification until "app info" pops up. Go into app info, force stop it, and then clear data.
Alternatively, find the app called "downloads" in your app drawer, open it, press the "other downloads" button on the right. You should see the Facebook download with an in progress status. Tick the box next to it and then press the little trashcan icon to delete it.
Problem solved.
Edit: Probably best to do both methods, as it came back on me once after just deleting it from downloads app.

Its a strange problem that affects multiple devices, and many had no idea of knowing if it affected one particular device/ROM or not. Relax.
I got it twice today on my Note 2 running a Touchwiz ROM, so it doesn't seem device dependant. FB Playstore error I would assume.

I just read online WHY this is happening: Its because Facebook has pushed an update that will allow future updates to happen OUTSIDE of the Play Store (aka silent updates).
I haven't been able to get the direct update to work so far, but The Verge confirms that it is from FB, so it is safe.
