I have just tried it and you are right not able to copy emails whilst reading them,I will have a look on the net to see if there is an answer out there

From what I have just been reading u cannot copy whilst reading in k9. The way to do it is read the email through the browser on gmails page and copy text from there, long winded way of doing it but I haven't come across another way yet but will keep looking for u

Easiest way I`m using now is Forwarding. Automatially enters edit mode. But still, a copy text function would be nicer.

Has anyone seen an extracted Samsung tablet email client? Thinking it would look good on the Streak.
Sent from my Dell Streak using XDA App
I extracted them and posted them in the Android Development section...maybe i should put them here...
EDIT: I have attached the files to this post... the odex file has the apk extension added to it, you need to remove it if you to use it.
Thanks but doesn't look like the app shown on the Engadget demo video?
That one has a landscape interface somewhat like the ipad client with the inbox on the left and content on the right.

Got a screenshot ?
Does this work?
It does work but isn't dramatically different from the stock email client. I was hoping for the app from the tablet - think this is the phone version?

How did you install I couldnt get it working. Im running dj steves rom.
To run this on my Steak, I use Astro file manager. Click the email application entry, open in application manager, then click the launch button.
It's not sufficiently different from the stock email app for me to make a switch. I was hoping for the client from the Samsung Galaxy tablet, not the phone.

I installed the one from the tab that looks like the ipad one in landscape but to many force closes for me to keep it. Looks great on the streak though.
Where did you get the tablet one? I'd like to try it just to see what it looks like.

tab email client
Does it replace the email app or the googlemail app?
I use gmail but the galaxy tab email looks superb.
Replaces the email not gmail app.
is this a newer file? Cause the last time I tried this, it would FC everytime I try to compose or reply. Can anyone confirm it works on the Streak properly...and if so, what ROM are you using?
I want to use the samsung email client since well... i like the widget on the desktop. I don't see an option to PUSH in settings. The quickest I see is to check every 5 minutes. Did I not set up the email correctly or what is it?
I had a push option earlier when I first entered my gmail account info but had to delete it because the push was being random. Having readded the account there isnt a push option any longer.
Help?
maybe this can help you..its for the s3 but should be the same..

Holy crap, talk about thread necromancy. OP is from May 2011.
Does anyone have any news on this subject?
Push email was available on the native S2 email client.
I vote for native apps first.
I tried the advice inside the android forum link, it works (gmail with exchange) but is sucks too much data in stand by.

This thread is in the galaxy s2 forum. Looks like you're a galaxy s3 user?
Yes, but since the op complained of a similar problem on the s2, i thought there is a connection.

I have been searching for way to make an apk file. I am currently using titanium back up to retrieve my apps. But I want the ability to send an actually apk to another individual. I tried changing the the extension through my file explorer but that didn't work. Any suggestions or answers? I hope this isn't a noob question. Thanks.

You can use https://market.android.com/details?...sMSwyLDEsImNvbS5idW1wdGVjaC5idW1wZ2EiXQ..bump
However, the recipient has to have bump installed too to receive apps.

Bump will just send the market link. I think what u want is to send paid apps to friends which I'm not sure is possible
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Well not necessarily paid apps. For example. My friend has the Motorola Droid razor (not rooted) but wishes he still had his car home app. I currently have this app installed (ICS by neobuddy) and I want to package the app into an apk so I can send it to him.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Just upload it to a Dropbox account and he can get on via his phone or PC and download it. Or pull a copy of your APK out of either /system/app or /data/app and put it on your SD card. Plug your card into his computer or phone and pull it off, install and Bam!! there it is.
I have tried sending APKs through gmail and it won't do it b/c gmail won't allow executables to be sent (whole virus protection thing and all-so i guess it is a good thing).
Worst case scenario, you upload it here, he logs on and pulls it off but beware of uploading paid apps as you will be banned. Your call.
I send apk files through gmail quite often. I use astro to make a backup, then send it through astro using the gmail app.
Thank you for the help. Really appreciate it.

I just spent 20 minutes searching the threads and can't find my answer, so I thought I would take a chance and make a thread about this. If there is a thread about this, I apoligize in advance and I will go and crawl under a rock and hide! I'm just curious Why are all links in our emails not clickable they are just text format, I found something about this in a different site but I think the expertise in XDA is far superior, IMO so I don't trust anybody else...Thanks in advance.

I just sent myself a link to google and it came through as clickable... Are you using gmail app or email app?

No go on the stock app. It's just not clickable.

GG its the stock email app

Just to elaborate on my original post, what I found on the other site was that someone said that the legal team at Apple is what caused us to lose the ability to click on links in our email, which sounds stupid....
Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using Tapatalk 2
Yeah I don't use stock email app since gmail is my only email :/
That's weird... Google has been slipping lately
But to elaborate on your elaboration, if the legal issue was true, why does Gmail allow it? Is HTC in the meat grinder deeper than Google maybe?

Yeah I'm not sure, gmail is an alternative.
HTC is having issues now!!!!!!
Thanks for looking in to it for me.....

With all the bs apple is doing to keep their competition on lockdown just so they won't get out sold, you can't really blame htc, best option would be to find an alternative email app as you previously said, though to be honest, I only use the default because I'm too lazy to configure my school account on the hotmail app.
I have the same issue.
Rooted and Flashed my Amaze 4g Telus yesterday and now on ICS.
Can't click on any links in emails and that's very anoying since i have 3 email account link to the phone and have plenty of links in them.
Anything that could help to bring back that feature ?
It's a no go, thank apple for that.
I don't think that's the case cause i had ICS on my Desire HD just before that phone and the links where still there.
I figured it out you have to go into settings, then send & receive, and change the mail size limit. The default is at 5kb, which is only text. If you change it to maximum size it will even show pictures. You have to reset app after you change the size limit so it takes effect though.

Seems legit, can't test it though, for some reason all the mail in my school folder just disappeared, wtf?
Hey there...!
I used Voice Memo App to store my personal daily correspondence for dictating it later on. I chosed numeric pincode to seal by saving the memos. Since a few days the assigned PinCode to the memos is not longer accepted and the app jumps back asking the pincode.
Any chance to get back the memos..?
Regards in advance Ede

The only thing coming to my head is reinstalling Voice Memo app, if not try use root explorer to get those files manually. Good luck and sorry for last post.

reinstall voice memo, it'll prompt you to create a new pin and give you access to those files again. works the same with H1d3 it Pr0 aka Audi0 Manag3r lol.
