Sega Mega Drive emulators for windows mobile - Windows Mobile Apps and Games

Dear all,
After reading this excellent guide to windows mobile emulators of the sega mega drive, I have tried both Picodrive 0.52 and Genesis Plus, both of which crash upon opening a rom.
Having done a bit of research around this, it seems all the original threads have been inactive for about 3 years. Now maybe that's because everyone got it working and so no more's required, but maybe not. In any case I'd be interested to find out if anyone's successfully running Picodrive of Genesis Plus on their HD or HD2, and especially if anyone had the crash-on-open problem and worked out a solution.
Finally, if anyone has recently done the research and can recommend the best & most up-to-date SNES emulator, that would be much appreciated.
Cheers,
Dez

[Q] emulators will not work

Hi I am not a developer or anything and I realise this site is more for those types so sorry if this is in appropriate.
Bascally I got the tytn I to play around a bit with roms ad learning an=bout developing. I want to try and get some emulators working on it but they all seem to be made for windows 2003, so obviously they either do not work or are jus very bad. I tried:
Picodrive
pocket genesis
morphgear
pocket snes 1.5
dosbox 073 arm
Will I need to downgrade the rom a lot to get this stuff going or is there another version that is known to work better with these older apps?
Thank you for your patience.
D
tried downgrading from mobile vista 6.5 seadragon
to Pays WWE final Full which is 6.1
Not really much difference in performance of the emulators so I guess I would have to go WAY back to something that would work with these emulators. Is it even possible to get windows 2003 on the hermes?!? Would I even want it will my phone be pretty much useless as far as being compatible with things like Activesync and Outlook?
Thank for your time

I think, you just do not realize the requirements for the emulator to work on your device

emulators for windows mobile 6.5

So i got this phone T5388i WINDOWS MOBILE 6.5 DUAL SIM WIFI GPS PHONE 8GB!! i cant post links sry. i got it from ebay
and was wondering what emulators can i put in it. i have no clue what these phones are capable of but with a cpu wth ~800 mhz ( i asked for better cpu ) i should be able to run some. what do you suggest?
If your phone is the Diamond2 then I believe that your phone supports 624MHz (not 800MHz^>^) but should support emulators like SNES, Sega, GBA and PSX (FPSeCe).
A friend of mine got the older model of this phone and it has ~800 Mhz cpu. I asked the seller to ship me the same older model. What type of files does windows mobile 6.5 support? is there a list somewhere? and yes, it is the diamond2.
Hi silvershot,
I have used this T52881i, use SNES and Sega on it. It’s working properly on my device. So, you can also run these emulators on your device.

Should be able to find a good few on http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ the problem I have with emulators is the controls (since I have a resistive screen - single touch).
If you really feeling adventurous try out DOSBox...then you have even more options.
Worked a treat when I had a bluetooth keyboard working though (unfortunately not working on my non-stock ROM).

[Q] Testing on Android...

Hi All,
Just finished porting a game on the android platform and was wondering what's the best way to test it. With so many devices out there and so many reports of buggy openGL implementations it's very hard to have any confidence that the game will run with no issues.
So far I tried using the Samsung Remote Test Lab but it's a nightmare to get anything to install on any of the remote devices.
I wouldn't mind paying for some service (like the Samsung RTL) as long as it is usable.
Any advice?
Cheers,
nikos.
PS. I hope this not off-topic.

Remix OS runs great on all-in-one HP 300, just need touchscreen to work.

The 32 bit install of Remix OS went perfect, got Google Play and Kodi, and everything elserunning super smooth, on an all-in-one Hp Touchsmart 300-1003, but I cannot figure out how to get the touchscreen to work. Other than that, there is no problem whatsoever with my dualboot WIN 7, on my HP, or my ASUS EEE 1001px laptop, or my Gigabyte G1 A88X Sniper with Amd A8-6600k, and R7 270x. All 3 systems do everything perfectly. If someone could figure out how I can get my touchscreen to work just fine, I might even just single boot my hp with Remix, for ****s and giggles...
Thanks for the fun toy/os to **** with, and thanks for the root also. I ****ing love this site and all of the hard work the devs put into something that is ultimately so dumb. Thanks guys!

Hey, it's not stupid, it's just not even close to fulfill it's potential.

First think I'd do is check if it's simply 'stuck': press ALT&F1 and enter rmmod i2c_hid && modprobe i2c_hid
Failing that, if you want to potentially get touchscreen to work; what I'd suggest is try booting a linux live cd and see if that supports your touchscreen. If it does post the output of lsmod, lspci and lsusb.
Personally I think Jide should create/suggest a small linux build with open-sourced drivers only (perhaps an ARCH build) - for end users to try on there system to see if there issue is due to no linux/open source support.

Bomaker Polaris

Hey there, wondering if anyone has tried to hack/upgrade the Bomaker Polaris? It is running Android 6, if nothing else would be nice to upgrade it to Android 9, but also wondering if there are any general guides, or if there is a good way to check if the internals are generic enough I'll have luck hacking it? Any tips would be greatly appreciated

I just got a Polaris too. The built in OS is one of the few cons. I'm currently using the Google TV chromecast which thanks to the CEC, controls work decent enough. What sucks is it only has 2 hdmis and I have to use one for the chromecast since the built in OS is unusable. I'd also ask for some keystone adjustment software to make that process way easier
Something I realized is the newer JMGO U2 looks like it has the exact same hardware as the Polaris! Same CPU, same sensors, same input panel, etc. That means both devices could possibly be combined into one thread on here and with increased user numbers, we may discover cool hacks/mods for both of them. I would even be interested in trying Luna OS (JMGO's OS) on my Polaris. Of course the ultimate goal would be full android TV, but that's probably not an easy port at the moment (Because both the Polaris and U2 are stuck on Android 6.0)
