Since there's no Kies for Mac & Linux user's, I'm recommending Banshee. I've used it on and off since 2009.
Play your music and videos. Stay entertained and up to date with podcasts and video podcasts. Sync your Android, iPod, and other devices. We think you'll love the new Banshee!

Anyone have any luck with this? I would be happy with a simple file copy without software if possible...
If you mean syncing your music from itunes to the g-tablet, then you can use isyncr from the android market. If you're talking about passing music from your g tablet to your ipod touch, then I don't think it's possible.

Interesting... thanks for the response. I was looking to buy an ipod but am second guessing...
We all know how Palm was able to mimic the USB ID and trick iTunes into thinking that it was a iPod. With all the hackers here and root access, is there no way to do this with Android too?
Yes, I'm well aware of all the crappy attempts to sync your iTunes music.
Why not just drag and drop? Unless you prefer the way ITunes shows your albums, etc?

Tunesync is not crappy, works seamlessly...

You know, I wanted a solution like this too...until I started using Audiogalaxy. Now I have no need for it, or to even waste space on my SD card by dragging & dropping music on it.

My brother used doubletwist to download all his songs off itunes to his phone. It's free and it works just fine.
I'm gonna check out these other two as well.
I'll check out TuneSync. Thanks for the replies.
I'm not a fan of Double Twist. The software on windows is hideous and doesn't work right most of the time.
I was curious to find out how the hdmi works with our phones so when I went to the sprint store the get my defender case swapped out for a commuter case, I asked about it. Basically DLNA(Digital Living Network Alliance) allows for a person to easily share their videos, music, and photos. I never knew our phones had this feature, so I download the "Double Twist" player app(its free) and "Air Sync" (its not free, you can figure out which way you want to get it) and when you open double twist, go to settings>air twist & air play and check the box next to it. Now if you have an internet cable tv, xbox 360, or ps3, you can stream and mirror your movies on their with NOOOO LAG!!!!!! You can also view your pics and stream your music as well. I love this feature. I thought I'd share.
Doesn't the phones "Media Share" application do the same thing?
Or are these programs better than that?

Yes, very well too... You don't need any program...

However, as of right now we are limited to formats that the hardware support. Hopefully RockPlayer or Vplayer will include this ability so that any movie format can be streamed.
Is it possible to mirror what is on the device using DLNA and Media Share? If so, how can it be done?

It's just a preference. With double twist you use it as a media player also on the go. Being able to share media is a big plus and that's what matters.
Sorry if I was unclear. What I mean by "what's on the device" is complete mirroring. (being able to see everything that is being done on the device)
I would like to be able to do that over some sort of wireless connection to my TV.

Nope. I believe that won't be possible to do without root.
Too bad :-(

The EVO3D does do full mirroring.
Maybe not over DLNA but it does over HDMI.

Really?!?! You just made my day.
If you don't have an Evo 3D, well you don't have an Evo 3D.
DLNA doesn't give mirroring. Think of it more like turning your phone into a media server. It doesn't play the media on the server, but rather is just a host so your other devices can stream the media to them.
I've used DLNA already quite a bit through my ASUS O!Play HD2. There is a little bit of delay in starting the media, but everything streams smooth once it starts.
Anyone know how to do this with a Samsung TV with All Share? I spent some time last night but couldn't get it to work. My TV can't see my phone and vice versa. But my laptop can see my phone and play its content.
Anyone know if this is possible using a Wii?

Yes, I had a Samsung led 3D, swapped it for an LG passive 3D. Go into the media share app while connected to WiFi and check the box to share your media. Check music, pics, and videos. Now go to "set shared folders" and pick the folders off your EVO 3D you want to share. While on all share on the t.v. while connected to.the same network it will find your phone. If not, don't use the all share app on t.v. just go to the media play app and it will be there. Or. On phone go to connected devices app, choose the media you want to share and then your t.v. and it will play if its supported content.

Thats pretty nifty. Hooked it up to my sammy led and it works really well.
I store a ton of music on my godaddy hosting account. Is it possible to stream this music to my MoPho? Streaming from my PC to my phone is not an option for me.
Install subsonic..

Thank you. Although, I may have missed something but it seems like Subsonic is for streaming from PC to Android. I want to stream from my godaddy server to Android without involving my PC.
Subsonic isn't a remote server-based solution.
You need something like http://www.turnstyle.com/andromeda/ . There are a few others but I've never seen one I really liked so I stopped keeping track of them.
What I ended up doing - and I am sure you could as well (I host from a home based server instead of godady). Is writing a PHP page that reads through a directory of videos/mp3s and creates an HTML5 web page so you can click on a video or song and have ti play in the native browser/player.
It's really primitive right now, but works for my needs and I have not had a need to make it any fancier than it is.
This was the best option for me for a home/away media server that I can control and do what I want with my own liking.
my only problem with it seems to be speed - but then again it is a crumby linux server with like 512 mb of ram and old IDE raided hard drives on an ATT dsl connection. :-/
...use Google Music?

Andromeda is getting closer to what I'm looking for. I'd also like the ability to play playlists and podcasts where I can resume listening where I left off. Plus, I'd rather use an app for playback rather than a website. Any other recommendations?

I have three challenges/questions:
Anyone have an invite you can give me?
I have many gigs of music and podcasts I want to listen to. What is the limit with Google Music?
Can I resume playback position with podcasts?
Ok, I got an invite to GMusic and it looks pretty cool. If I can get enough space and if it is possible to resume playback position in podcasts, GM will meet my needs. I'm uploading my audios now... (keeping fingers crossed)

This sounds promising! How do I install subsonic on my Godaddy hosted server so I can stream everything to my phone?
Can subsonic be configured to remember playback positions in podcasts?

actually maybe godaddy's too limiting.. here's a thread about it -
http://forum.subsonic.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2739)
I know it saves my song positions.. don't think podcasts would be any different.. -m
Ok, I'll follow that thread. Thank you for posting it. Hopefully, someone has made a way to do this!
My PS3 and my smart tv pickup my windows computer over wifi enabling me to show pictures music and videos on it. Im assuming this is a windows feature that allows it to show up like that. Is there any type of app that can fake the tv I to thinking my phone is a wi dows media?
I may be using wrong technology terms here but hope what I am saying makes sense
Hey,
There are many apps for that in Google Play, the technology is called "DLNA", just look for that in Google Play.
I use imediashare for displaying videos and pictures on my Sony TV. But with this app you normally send your media to the TV, and not the other way round.
Just try it!

Phil
