An application that announces the time.
Feaures:
- can be set at 5 min, 10 min, 15 min, 30 min, or 60 min intervals.
- does not run in the background so it won't eat up resources and battery juice.
- tested on HTC Ozone
- should work on WM5 and above
- INSTALL IN DEVICE MEMORY
How to Use:
- run the TalkingClock application
- choose the time interval you wan't it to tell the time then click on SET INTERVAL
- click START
- exit the application
- to stop the application from further announcing the time, launch the TalkingClock application again and click on STOP, then exit

Hi oldsap,
that is what i have after my posting on top of yours. Yes it is working. Th NO working evet was the standby locking. Then only some apps are active. The sound isn't very good at the moment, but i have a wonderfull idea and also sound files. I have to take a look on it. Then i will PM you with a test cab file .
EDIT 1:
i use now adifferent female voice and that is very cool now. This i have missed so long. Can you do me a favor? Can you add 1 minute cycle? With a checkbox for the information that this drain the battery and or give more cpu load? Obne minute about may day job. This will be a very good solution. OK i can change the one minute in the registry, but it will be nice in the GUI. Thanks for reading.

errr sorry but i don't quite get this.
@pedaah: thank you for pointing this out: "one thing of note, if your device is set to auto lock like most, the app doesn’t function whilst the device is locked, at the moment."
i tested the app on my smartphone and it doesn't have any problem with it being in suspended mode. however, in pocketpc devices, it won't work. i've edited the code but i cannot test it if it will run in suspended mode or not. could anyone test it please? i've posted it ob my blog called TalkingClock v1.1

installed TALKINGCLOCK on device as advised,
installed ok ,no problems ..
(very handy application.)

only 1 shortcut should appear.
TalkingClock (1).lnk <= this one was accidentally added in the cab file, sorry

The double lnk file was removed before i have installed the clock .
And thnak you for use the icon.
It does not look like it's running correctly when using the 24 hr time format.
Example: When it's 6 o'clock is says six, and than I hear ping ping like it's missing a sound file..

Hello Ather, I found this utility very useful. In hotel, in the night, I leave my Htc on charge near the bed with display on and I launch Simple Clock to trasform it in a digital clock.
Do you think it's possible to add some features? For example a landscape mode, the ability to choice the font color, enable/disable seconds, display alarm settings, etc..

Looks like this is for QVGA and you have a VGA device, so it shows in one quarter of your screen.

The message say: The file or the assembly 'System.Windows.Forms,Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=969.............' is not found.
Fortunately I have not uninstalled the 0.2 release, but I want to try the new version, so can you give me some info about this error and how to solve it?

It's a night clock, so you can use your phone to show the time in the night. It's useful in hotel, for example, and every time you don't have a desktop clock for the night. To make it work correctly you have to disable the auto shut-off function of your phone, in my Htc Trinity I set the time for automatic shut-off to 12hr, I don't think to sleep so much..

You can see it in the new beta of nueLight3, which aims to replicate the look and feel of the HTC CommManager – It supports both orientations and uses the same style resources as the HTC comm manager, allowing easy porting of existing skins – it now also has the advantage of being able to use the same resources under multiple resolutions (automatic stretching). Hopefully this allows Windows Mobile to be a little more attractive in the future…. you can download a preview version here (note only the CAB is available right now). As usual, please avoid direct linking and mirroring. It uses the HTCCamera1.dll interface now, so it should be compatible with all HTC devices with flash. In addition, the morse code transmit rates are now calculated automatically based on desired WPM, using the (dit_time = 1200/WPM) “PARIS” method.

An idea... could you make the application perform the flashes on the screen (fullscreen white light) for devices that do not have flash??

pretty cool application, but my light wont go off, somehow it allows me to exit the program and wont turn the light off for anything, i have to restart my phone to turn it off, the camera app wont come up either. If you could fix this lil bug id use this over the htorch

As far as the program exit issue: I will try to repeat it and gather/note any details reported or take a screenshot (generally happens upon exit, but hasn't happened since the first time using the app).
I did notice a bug, though (if it's a bug/feature, not sure):
1: Start the application
2: When presented with the notice about sliding finger up to bring up the menu, click the [X] to close it (must set HTC Task Manager to close app when clicking [X])
The LED will now stay on, and no other app will be able to control it (or, in some cases, even start, such as nueLight or hTorch).

how ever highbeam makes my x1's bright light flash instead of staying on.
also since the rez on my x1 is wvga after going into the about screen and then back the bottom of the background is no longer shown.
im guessing the background can be fixed with a theme edit. but any clues or ideas about highbeam flashing instead of staying on would be cool. unless its supposed to flash.

This also works on qvga devices..
X7510 doesn't take to nueLight
During the installation a warning about the software being developed for an older version of WM appears.
Then it just wouldn't start.

I have installed the program and it looks very good on my device. The problem i found is that when starting the program the first time i can add one city and then it goes to the program screen. When i want to add more cities it opens the adding windows, but there is no keyboard accessible to type in the city name. How should i do that?

I like that it goes straight to programs..... Note I am still with my elfin on WM6.5 Rom..... I hope that later we can change the menue setup to look like WM6.5 and not HTC's menu.
One thing I hated was that I did not have my recent programs anymore but I got used to it after I adjusted my most used to the top.

I just thought of something. Not sure if the above post will work exactly but it is a nice find. +1 Wardy.
But my thought was that it probably is just a Registry edit.... I guess.... I'm by no means and expert at any of this. But mebe browse around the registry and see if anything gives a hint as to the start bar. Then try to disable it. It will take time hunting fo it but mebe there is an edit you can do. IDK.

the alternative i use is quickmenu
you can keep the present start menu going to programs immediately pressing the word start.
and you have a drop down menu if you press the flag.

Edit: I found this while google searching the TD2 in news. Just install the CAB and the registry hacks will be done for you. Soft reset and go.

Thankyouverymuch for the link good sir.
Just installed on my Elfin with Onyx 6.5 Rom. I can verify that it definitly works. Hit the flag and you get the old type menue.... Hit the Start and the 6.5 Programs menue is launched.
Only problem I see so far is that the start menu could be larger for finger press but I am a pro at typing on the MS keyoard so no problem for me.
Also my taskbar was replaced by their battery status. Need to find a way to disable that.
Note again that this is on my Elfin. I will be installing when my D2 comes in.
Could somebody try it out and give feedback on thier D2?
EDIT ON MY COMPLAINTS
I disabled quickmenu's battery status and went to settings/system/taskmanager and re-enabled TaskMan in start menu. So an easy fix.
I'd like to do the opposite. Have the proprietary start menu available with TF3D NOT active. Is this possible?

Changes of v2.34
- changed option "Lock Message Preview" to "Disable Message Preview" to reflect the function meaning.
- added option "Snooze time (5, 10 or 15 min)" (S2U2 Settings > General).
- added "tap here to cancel" on the notification prompt.
- removed options "Slide to dismiss/cancel", "Dismiss Notification once viewed", "Mark SMS as read once viewed" and "Mark Email as read once viewed".
When a notification is shown, always slide to left to view; slide to right to dismiss; and tap the notification to cancel.
- when there is not enough device memory to cache a GIF, show error message on background.
- delayed the "On wake-up, unlock by Proximity Sensor" so that it always happen after "power off by Proximity Sensor".
- fixed occasionally "slide to snooze" did not work.
- fixed occasionally hard to move the slider.
- fixed S2P playback was interrupted.
- fixed the system InCall Proximity Sensor was occasionally disabled.
- fixed occasionally "slide to view" did not work.
- fixed occasionally "slide to dismiss" would unlock as well.
- fixed occasionally graphics shown messy when volume button is pressed.

Reset Unread Count
If your device has suspicious unknown count of any unread email/vmail/sms/mms, use this file (ResetUnreadCount.cab) to reset them.

If you need to manually map a key to invoke the new Volume Control, extract the S2U2-VC.LNK from this file (s2u2-vc.zip) & transfer it to your device's \Windows\Start Menu\Programs\S2U2 (for Non-English device, it varies), then use any key mapping software (some devices have it come along) to map this S2U2-VC to your preferred key.
But it assumes S2U2 is installed at \Program Files\S2U2. You may read HERE for how to create a LNK file.

first of all thx for your nice work!
but...on my touch pro 2 sometime, generally after pc connection or bluetooth headset connection, but also without using usb connection at all, ive the headset icon showed and it disappears only if i connect-diosconnet the wired headset.
could you solve this issue (present also on 1.62)...

I think it could only be solved if I had a Touch Pro 2 on-hand for testing.

You can't, it's already set by the service provider or the OS.

I have the same trouble with this version as the previous two versions which is if I get a voicemail, i get no voicemail icon on s2u2 screen until i go into settings then come out of it again at which point it shows i have -1 voicemails. This is on a Touch Pro. This wasnt an issue in 1.52.
