I had the last x10i update from sony but i want to root it only
just root only with out update, Can any body help me???

I just bought X10i last week, and its software version shown R2BA020. I saw someone had upgrade to 026, and announced speed become speedy.
my question is how to upgrade my X10i to R2BA024 ? to root my R2BA020 or directly replace to R2BA024 ?
currently I only found one package can upgrade from 024->026. maybe someone will release package (020->026)

Have you tried using SEUS to try and get R2BA026? Then to get root just follow the info here

i am on X10i with 1.6 branded firmware but now unlocked to any carrier... I just know the word rooting.. i dont know how to update it to any 2.1 factory unlocked firmware now...can anyone help me here to update it to generic 2.1 firmware.. does anyone know the steps or tutorials... please help asap.. thanks...

The first thing you need to do is to upgrade your baseband to the latest firmware possible (Bluespark uses the 2.1.A.0.435). Next is rooting your phone to enable you to install custom ROMS, install xRecovery and you are good to go.
