Old battery is running out of juice. Recently found some 1700mah drea160 g1 battery on ebay. Any one tested them yet?
What happen to the ecell 1500mah battery? couldn't find it anymore.
By the way, I'm looking for a standard battery (fits in original housing), please reply if you have something to share. Thanks
Don't know if its the same battery i bought about half a year ago at ebay germany but i had no luck with it.
It was labeled as 1700 mah battery... now, 7 month later the battery has power for about 6 hours in standby (think about 500mah rest capacity)
Even in the first months the battery had not more power than the original htc 1150mah battery, the standby time was about the same.
I recommend not to buy it... better get one or two cheaper standard capacity batteries

well I just ordered mine off ebay, total came to a lil over 5 bucks.
Im guessing its not gonna pan out, but hopin it'll be at least as good as stock, and if its either of those, im getting my money back and keeping the battery. So tis a win for me no matter what.
I'll do review.

There's a flood of standard capacity battery on ebay that I can't tell which is good and which is bad. I'm just wishing to get one that will last slightly longer than stock or as long as stock. Guess I will have to look around for a bit.

Thanks, hopefully it's not one of those that do great for the first few days and degrade quickly afterward.
well just recieved my battery, its fake, and came with a sticker stating 2500mah! Lmao. same size as stock. But im gonna try it out for a week, and as long as it works better than my old battery, i'll give positive feedback and not request my money back.

This battery works great for me, have had it a few weeks now, has easily doubled my battery life and standby time is crazy it never has come close to dying while on standby.
The one I received is a little different than the one pictured, my backplate has just the camera recessed and not the whole area around it. So the back is even throughout.

Guys,
I found a 1700mah battery on ebay (restriction on new users stops me from providing the link, but it's from Seller austintexwireless ( 18439 sales))
Do you think it's fake at 1.60$?...
I am looking to buy a bigger battery, but I do not want the extended packs with thick back covers, so would prefer one that fits the original slot.
Any advice?

I ordered three batteries off ebay. Two of them were delivered and I'm waiting for the last one. One of the batteries is 1050 Mah and the other is 1150. They both hold equally with a little edge for the 1150 one. I'm really sceptic that in this thickness the battery could have a larger capacity than the stock one. This is a limitation of the Li-Ion technology. However, both of those batteries are much better than the swollen stock one after 1,5 years of use and do a great job. One more thing. The 1050 one was from HongKong and cost me about $3 and the bigger one was from UK and cost me about 7-8$, but was delivered much much faster. I think that you can't go wrong with a battery for 3-4$ but I recommend getting two batteries and an external charger - it's a must have for power users. That's it.
My ANDIDA 1600mAh battery begins to show its age (used to last at least 1-day of use, sometimes 2-day if use is light, now barely make it over a whole day) after 11-month of use. So I got a new 1700mAh (by SCUD) battery.
I shall report back how it performs after a few days of use...
ANDIDA 1600mAh
SCUD 1700mAh
P.S. They both weigh 24g.
A quick search finds that lithium ion's specific energy density ranges from 150 to 250 W·h/kg. If we take the highest specific energy density, so 24 / 1000 * 250 = 6W·h (WHr). Divide 6W·h by 3.7V * 1000 = 1621mAh.
So it's THEORETICALLY possible that these batteries can contain 1600-1700mAh of juice. Whether they can actually store as much is, well, another matter.
Of course, the above calculations haven't taken into consideration of the weight of the housing and the circuitry so the figures should be a bit off.
P.P.S. I remember the original battery (1150mAh) weighed a few grams more through.

that pictures even says 2500 mah, I wouldn't trust it.
so, after a few days of use, it isn't as good as the andida when it was new. the andida surely lasted me at least 1-day of uses (unless i'm using gps the whole time, which drains the battery in a few short hours). this one, it lasts a day of moderate use but not much left.
i'm hoping that with more uses, it will be more "warmed up" and last longer.
i'll report back if this happens.
Looks like the SCUD can last 1.5 day of use mostly.

Hey guys,
Last week I buy an 1500 mAH Battery (CS) for my Herald.
Included today I worked 5 days with my Herald (WLAN , Phone, SMS, Calender..) and I have 28% Energy
Good Performance....
Whats your experience with the 1130mAH Battery? Do you have other Battery tested (bigger than 1500?)
Thanks Oliver

No, you won't lose data
And this is not due to the pda, this was a 'feature' from WM2003
WM5 and WM6 both have the data/settings stored on a rom chip which doesn't lose its data when you soft-reset.
Are these batteries reliable? Don't want to have them exploded in my pocket! Has anyone already ordered?
Do these larger batteries fit with the original battery cover?
HERE is a 2400 maH Battery.
But It's a larger Backcover...
Thanks for the tip ... ordered one of these to compensate for running BatteryStatus.
5 days !! thats crazy talk !!
i get 2 at most on mine.
is this battery the same as the one you have?

That's the one I ordered, but I haven't received it yet. They don't tell you when they're out of stock on their site.
cool rob, let me know how it is when it arrives.
why is that guy getting 5 days of charge?
Bought one too
After reading the first very positive post about the 1500mAh battery, I've got one myself too. Unfortunately I am quite disappointed. The life seem to be the same or even worse than the original battery to me
Just GSM eats about 3-4%/8h but when I turn the device on I can see the percents going down anxiously fast even with the backlight on the first level
Got the 1500mAh battery this past Friday. So far, looks like I'm getting at least two days, maybe a little more between charges. Pretty much what I'd expect given the modest increase in amperage. Overall, I'm pleased given that it only cost about $30.
Hi there, I'm using the 1500 battery since monday and can't say that I see any difference to the standard 1150- no breakthrough and I don't see how to get over two days with normal use
what about the 2400 maH battery. Are there any benefits of getting that or not? (other than making your phone feel and appear heavier)
Where did you find a 2400 maH battery? And will any accessory for the P4350 work for my T-Mobile branded "Wing"?
Can anyone comfirm that the 2400 battery will come with the cover for the T-mobile Wing?

There is a guy on ebay selling a 3000 mah battery for the wing with the blue cover. It looks large to me but if you need the extra power it may help. On ebay search for "wing battery". I think his seller id was nakedcellphone or something similar.

here is a 2400 from boxware. what people should also let people know is what their overclock settings are and what people consider normal use. Im always on my phone texting or doing something.
I found one on eBay with 1700 mAh are there bigger ones??

uh, 1700mah would really be worth it...
has somebody already tried those?
just curious if there might be risks in getting 350mah extra..dont want to brick my hd ;D
there are no risk in changing the size but if it is a cheaply made battery then something might go wrong.
yeah, thats what I meant..i'm a little bit scared of such batteries unless I got a positive review from someone ;-)
I use the 2600mah battery. Remember this refers to the storage capacity of the battrey, not how much juice it puts into the phone. My battery (from ebay) gives the phone at least twice the life. I use the GPS (tomtom) a fair bit and it makes a big diffrence. Before this I used a large aftermarket battery on my trinity for at least 2 years with no ill effect.
Note: these batteries need a larger back on them which is supplied.
I will eventually buy this 1700 mAh battery in the next weeks and post short review if it's worth the money. Actually there is very little risk to use a aftermaket battery, dasferg is totally right is't just the storage capacity it's practically the same battery with more juice!!
This one don't need a larger back on them!!! It is standard size, and you will
not need a lager back cover!!
Please send a feedback after you have test it
I've also ordered this battery, it should arrive very soon.
Ill make a review aswell
got it yesterday, recharged it to full while being off.
28 hours later its on 99%. Havent used it alot tbh.
20 mins of phone calling, and 40 mins of music.
Why not buy a second 1350 mAh to replace whn the other one is empty?
Here:
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.23961
for just $4,90.
By the way. I don't think the battery you mentioned really stores 1700mAh.
They just print 1700mAh because it sells and nobody ever checks if it is really true.
I also found a 2500mAh battery, obviously larger than the stock one. It comes with a replacement cover as well, also larger than the normal one, to accommodate the larger battery. I'm planning to buy it tomorrow, I'll test it and let you know how it works.

as far as ive researched the best battery atm that fits in the original HTC cover is the 1500mAh mugen power..
there are ones like Power Akku that is 1700mAh but arent CE approved or properly tested...
seems to me akku are like a cheap dodgy no name brand which is why i wouldnt recommend it
is it worth the cash for 11% more juice?
Sure, there will be situations where you need to do someting and you curse yourself for not buying another hour of power, but it won't change your charging habits. 33% might, 50% would...

Just got back home with the new 2500mAh battery. First impression: the device looks bulkier with the larger battery in place and is, obviously, heavier. There is a small advantage here, though, you can stash up to 4 extra microSD's between the area below the battery (sim and microSD slot) and the cover. I'm charging the battery now, I'll stress test it when it reaches 100% and post the results.

The 1700 mAh has about 26% more juice over the 1350 mAh, i won't change my charging habits. But i hope my HD will have juice for a whole day... i'm permanently running Skype in the background an this eating up my battery like mad!
Yesterday evening I turned my HD off and charged the 1700mAh to max.
Turned the phone on again yesterday at midnight.
I've used it alot today by using coreplayer to watch an episode of Sopranos, and like 1 hour of music. Called for like 30 mins. Used MSN for like 3 hours through HSDPA and Opera for about 10 mins. Now, roughly 26hrs later, it's at 70%.
note, I have HSDPA always on.
I bought this and used it for a month now, happy with it, performs like my original HTC battery.
Looks almost identical, but 1500mAh instead. Like to have the 1700mAh, but difficult to justify the price difference!

Anyone know of a seller that ships to the US? The above seller only ships to Europe.
Hi all,
at the moment, my hero sprint (I think this is the proper name) is running on the factory 1350mAh battery. I am pretty content, but I am reading about 1800mAh batteries that should live a lot longer! But on the batteryboss.org I see most are just rip-offs.
Whats the battery of your choice? What are your results and: where did you order it?
I am more than open for all advice about this subject, as long as the battery fits in the stock opening. I do not want my hero to become any bigger than is is
htcheroblog.com/2010/02/14/mugen-power-1550mah-3200mah-htc-hero-battery-review/
Read the five pages and it should give you an idea as to which battery (if any) you want.
Unless your away from your charger for more than one night then the standard htc battery should be sufficient, although I personally have the huuuuge 3200mAh battery which is amazing and lasted over 40 hours for me even with wireless and gps pretty much constantly on. Hope that helped

I also have a 3200 mAh battery and its lasted 14 days on minimal use! That's how good the Hero can be! I use the stock Battery for day to day use though as I get 2 days out of it usually.
I use 2200mAh purchased from Clove uk (part number is HTC-BATEHEROW-B15).
My battery goes down to 60-70% after a day use, WiFi on all time and quite a lot of calls.
It used to go down to 20-30% with the orginal battery.
The real good thing is that the phone has now taken an extra 5mm of thickness and this extra bit makes it much much easier to hold on my hands.
The cover color is real white and does not match the white Hero color, no big deal.

I dont expect many will have a much higher capacity worth buying if you dont want to add depth to the phone soory
If anyone is interested the Clove batteries (2200mAh) are only £7ish delivered to the UK now!
It may be a pricing error? no idea, either way Ive ordered!
Only available in white though... but almost twice the power for less than a 10er! Im in!
(I will probably cover the back cover in stickers anyway... its what all the Apple people do so its easily acceptable for a Android user to do it lol)
I also bought one And thank god i ahve a white hero
i bought one too...
Well my order just got cancelled by them because apparently they arnt in stock (even though they have been on the site listed as 'in stock' for the past few days) and they have removed the item from the site!

I have a 3200 mAh battery somewhere. But I really don't like the bulky back. When using Froyo, I had to use it as my phone wouldn't survive 12 hours with the stock battery. Now, running Gingerbread, a 1500 mAh battery I bought from DealExtreme for 5 USD lasts about 20 hours normale use.

Digging up old thread but just wondered, has anyone used those 1550 mAh replacement batteries.
I'd like to buy one from ebay but i don't know if it is worth it.
Thanks in advance
There's 3200 mAh, 2200 mAh, 1550 mAh, and the stock 1350 mAh batteries.
I have the 2200 mAh version.
Its only $13.75 USD and is smaller than the 3200 mAh version.
It comes with the back case and lasts almost twice as long as the stock battery.
I wouldn't spend +$79 on just a battery. I'd rather buy 2 2200 mAh batteries. Cheaper and easier to carry.
So I bought one of the cheap Ebay 1800mAH batteries. I received it today & I pulled the sticker off the top of it & just like every other knockoff battery I've bought on Ebay it is not 1800mah. Underneath the sticker it says 1000mah.

[Edit: this user has sold like 350 of these things and gotten no bad reviews on it yet that I can tell.....so either no one's checking battery life before rating or else he's legit?]
So OP, the sticker thing--Mine look a lot like yours but if I try to peel off the sticker, I think I'm getting into the battery itself--metal and stuff seems be be underneath it. But the wrapper on mine looks identical to yours--should I try peeling? I don't want to damage the batteries...
Also, as to performance, what's the best way to test? I guess I can just reboot the phone and wait a set amount of time then measure the battery level (assuming no phone calls, etc)--but even then there are issues of network, etc. Maybe I should just turn off wi-fi, go into airplane mode, then watch 30 minutes of Tron and see where the battery is afterward?
I've got a battery app that shows the % life left and few other things (like how much juice has gone to the screen and specific apps, etc) but I don't think it does what I need it to. I'm willing to pay a few bucks in the market for a great battery monitor.
I have 2 from ebay that look exactly the same and they work perfectly fine, every bit as good as the one that came with it.

I got a few of these too and I pealed the sticker and mine say the same thing 1000mah (on the metal looking part). They seem to last pretty long though, maybe 75% of the original. this definitely sucks. Thanks OP for the heads up. I ordered the 2000mah batterys that just popped up on ebay yesterday (from Hong Kong) I will post back when I receive them.
I have contacted both the sellers I ordered from and reported this to ebay, waiting for replys.
Here is what you do!
Here is what you do. If you have a few hours to kill and it is what I did to test my 4G batteries I bought. I would charge the batteries and turn on a navigation app and select a location and let it constantly check and update until the battery dies. With the OG EVO it took like 4 and half hours. and with the siedio 1750 i got an extra 20 mins.
Also the extended batteries would not reach a full charge until SBC kernels showed up, heck the stock batteries didnt get a full charge either so maybe that could be why?
anyways, a lot of people scam others with BS claims on battery ratings on ebay I ordered a 2000 mah battery for my evo and i pulled the sticker and it said 950.
Buyer beware!
Becareful put cheap junk in your superphone.
Why try and run your Porche on cheap of brand 87 octane when it calls for SHELL 93? Yeah it may run but not as well!

Yes it is safe to pull the sticker off. Mine has the metal too as you can see from my pics. I didn't pull from the same part you started to pull from. I started on the back side. The black part. You should see where the sticker ends and you can pull them back from there.
This has been a scam on these types of batteries for a while now. It may seem like you are getting the same battery life, but if you are using battery intensive applications and radios you will see that it is not. With my OG Evo I had 4 cheap Ebay batteries that all claimed to be 3500mah, but none of them even compared to my Sprint branded 2600mah battery. It outlasted those cheapies by almost double. I am sure that maybe there are some legit batteries out there and maybe even on Ebay, but as far as I can tell every single one of these batteries is less capacity then claimed.
I am no expert on testing batteries. All I did was pull the black sticker back to reveal that the battery is 1000mah instead of 1800 mah as claimed.
I bought the battery from here: Ebay
no offense guys, but when you buy a battery that cost 5 dollars, when the oem batteries are 50; do you really expect the same kind of performance?
Now, I agree that the OEM's mark up these things at least 100%, but, you still can't expect top performance when you buy a no name battery as cheaply as they are on Ebay..

right! you get what you paid for, I buy these with the expectation that i'll use them as a backup battery, not as a primary battery that last longer.
in my opinion, even the name brand like Sedio or Mugen "slim extended" battery which cost an arm and a leg are still no better than OEM. even the bulky one don't have as much mah as they claim, although definitely more mah than oem standard
fantasy.bid
I ordered one from fantasy.bid for my samsung transform. And they sell the 1800 evo 3d batteries as well. But after realizing how hard the back was to get off, I am going to get one of these 4,000 batteries for 75 bucks!

That thing is huge. I would rather carry a second battery and not deal with the heft. Yeah, you have to swap it out but I'd rather do that than carry that thing around. I didn't see the weight but that's a consideration also. To each his own, if that works for you i'm glad you found a solution.

Damn! Same seller I got mine from! Same thing under the sticker too!
I've been on battery 4hrs and am at 66% after using cardio trainer and listening to music for an hour... FWIW
I bought 9 ebay batteries for my original Evo and they all worked just as well as the OEM.
They last about 2 hours of heavy use maximum but for 12$ u get at least 5 hours of battery time ,so its worth it even tho the battery doesn't charge in the phone and it makes your status bar battery icon go gray with a line thru it
looks like they are starting to hit ebay - though smaller Mah

Just for the battery charger itself is worth it to me. I think I will go for it.

hopefully these don't turn out to be like the evo 3d ones. i bought the same setup and all the batteries were really 1000ma. if you pulled the sticker up it said 1000ma under it. i could get about 3-4 hours out of one.

please report back any findings on the battery's quality.

Will do. They just shipped it out yesterday, so being its coming from Hong Kong it may take a while.

2-3 batterys and a charger for around 10-12 bucks. You can't expect to get close to the stock battery for that price. 4 hour emergency batteries for that price is well worth it. Had them for my Epic and already ordered for Photon even though I'm not getting the phone till next week, takes a few weeks to get them.
These will work. The problem is that once they charge they discharge from 100% to 50% normally, then the battery dies. How much do you want to bet that the rated mah is nowhere near 1500. I got suckered in. I might as well keep these for emergencies.

had bought a set on ebay before from hong kong for my touch pro 2 the batteries that arrived actually seemed to last a little bit longer than the factory battery but one did only last a few hours. it seems hit or miss on the quality control over there.

Look at the price. There is no quality control over there.
All three of mine drain like crazy after four hours

found these and thought it was a great deal, at least you're not sacrificing quality and it's not lower than standard mAh. just wished it had come with an extra charger

Just noticed that I never reported back on that first post. Well the batteries are good enough in a pinch but they certainly drain much faster. I just might try the one that wagonattack just posted.
Only wish I could find a good battery charger for these batteries.

I got some of the ones from Newegg. It is actually sold by a "marketplace" vendor, so not newegg itself- shipped from California, USPS was the only option.
The batteries themselves are almost exact replicas of the original battery so the fit is great. They are flat black on one side and the label on another- so there's no mistaking it for the original. I have a few dud batteries for my HD2 that look exactly like originals so it's annoying if i put one of them in and forget to bring an extra.
The rating is 1700mAh @ 3.7v versus the HF5X's 1650+ @ 3.8- it ends up being pretty much the same number of Watt/Hours. I'll be able to see this weekend if the same on paper equates the same in real life as far as runtime goes.
After a trip this weekend and some normal usage the past few days, the newegg batteries are definitely as good as the original battery. It's definitely not a one or two hour battery, all day usage from 9-5 with over 60% left, similar to the normal battery.
Again- the only annoying thing is that they don't come with an external charger... but oh well.
