Hello, I have a Qtek 9100 and unfortunately I dropped it and scratched the front of the casing up pretty bad. The phone is still in perfect condition and not even a scratch on the back or the screen. I am looking for the front housing. I do not have any scratches on the rear housing, keyboard, or even the battery cover. I have looked on Ebay and the only thing that I have found is for around $100 (US). I do not want to pay that much for something that I can conceivably drop again. So my question is; is there anyone out there that knows where I can get a front housing? I would even buy the total housing to use as a backup but I do not want to spend an arm and a leg for it. I would greatly appreciate any feedback anyone has.
First of all: PLEASE do NOT cross post your question in all (Wizard) forums. One should be enough.
The best way to get spare parts is HTC itself. I bought a battery-cover from htc-europe at a reasonable GBP 10 (or was it $ 10?). Just send them a message via the contact optio n on their website
Get a dummy device
Hi,
Purchase a dummy device from ebay. All the external parts are identical to the ones originally installed.
Regards.
Íñigo
Have you replaced the housing of an actual phone with the housing of a dummy phone. I would just like to be clear before i go out and buy one.
I suggested the same thing over at HoFo and someone replied that they are different. If it were me I'd drop in to a Tmo store to verify though.
Edsub: That's a good response and info. Thanks for the post.
found this site when i was looking for the entire facia for the 8125... they do have alot of other phone types listed too. the 8125 facia runs about $79.
Actually the dummy phones are all one solid piece of plastic, so unless you're going to try to cut the front piece off and superglue it, that won't work at all.

I called brightpoint in Germany for two battery covers.
They did send it by UPS without charging me anything.
If someone is interested in the phone number or email, just pm me
go to the htc web site. They have a phone number for ordering parts. I needed a batter door, and they sold me one for 12.00 plus 7.95 shipping. I had it in 4 days.

You need to check the reputation of the seller before you buy from E-Bay.
And even than you are not sure about the quality of the battery.
The best is to buy the original battery recommended by HTC.
Actually, the best thing to do is, whenever you even remotely consider buying something from ebay, have a friend whack you in the head with a brick. There's a reason why the prices on ebay are so low...it's cause 99% of the products are either advertised as something they are not, or the seller is a straight up scammer and won't send you anything at all. Feedback is useless; there are networks of scammers out there who generate feedback for each other that appears to be legitimate.
If I sound a bit disgruntled, I'm sorry, but so far over the past 3 months I've lost over 500$ on ebay and STILL waiting for paypal dispute resolution to take care of it.

......................although; one can always have a great experience, bar the 2 cars I have bought! (Cars were under £200!)
Ebay is good but you have to do alot of research, just received the Seinheiser CX500 headphones.......fantastic and the world is far away due to the quality.........
Will
That's cool...I know I have had SOME good transactions on ebay, but I just hate the fact that when things go wrong they seem to tell you that they will help fix it when they dont...they need to regulate things more, because there are so many scammers on ebay...i would bet my life that there are at least 100 people gettimg scammed right this second
BTW Seinheiser is great..I've tried those and I liked them
For wired headphones though i use Ultimate Ears in ear monitors...theyre amazing but they cost ALOT
I'm trying to some some studio quality bluetooth headphones at the moment with no avail
Ebay
I get just about all of my phone accessories on ebay. Most of the stuff while cheap does what they say. True feedback does not mean much but I have bought all my extra batteris there and saved a lot of money. $ 12 for a battery there compaired to $40-50 eleswhere. I think it is worth a try.
I second surgex0. When stuff goes wrong ebay/paypal doesn't care.
And batteries - I got some 'new' batteries once that were original branded but lasted 20% my store bought batteries did. I'd stay away.
Hey it appears that GagdetShieldz has finally released a skin for the Tilt 2! I had one on my Fuze and at 6.99 I don't think they are a bad deal at all... plus it worked quite well! When I get done with Finals I am gonna order one and put it on... Plus free worldwide shipping!

THANKS.. Just ordered one..
PPCSG15
15% off
I got this too. For less than $6 with free shipping, you really can't beat that. I hope it's good. I've been using the Invisiblesheild for my past 3 phones, it works really nice if you take the time to put it on correctly but it costs a lot more than this.
Mine just came in the mail yesterday. I've been using Invisiblesheild for several of my devices and to be honest with you I can't tell the difference. The only major differences between this and Invisiblesheild is that it does not come in the fancy box with the spray, squeegee, applicator card etc. Just a plain envelope with the product. Since it only cost $5-6 its hard not to recommend this.
honestly i found this one harder to put on, and eventually i wasnt able to...
that and this feels.. thinner than invisible shield, but not that much. the texture is also slightly different...
overall for 6 bucks its a good deal lol
Installed
I just finished installing it, and yeah the front was difficult... kind of rushed to back and have a bubble or two but no biggie. I took my time on the front and it is curing right now! I will try and get pictures but it will be later next week, after Christmas!
Oh and Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays y'all!
Please post detailed pictures and if possible a scratch test. I was looking at bodyguardz but this is a cheap alternative I am willing to consider if available for T7373 also (not branded). Also tell me if it arrived just 1 set or 2 sets like bodyguardz and if the touch screen's sensitivity is somehow affected?
EDIT:
20% discount coupon - PPCSG20
I will try
MightyCrys I apologize I am out of town, however, I will try to get a camera from a family member! As far as screen sensitivity - I have noticed no depreciable difference in that area. The screen definitely has a different feel due to the skin's thickness, but I do not see this as an issue. My fingers sort of drag on the surface on the skin, but it does not impede function by any means. My stylus use is very limited but the stylus is usable with the appropriate amount of pressure.
Also you receive 1 shield only, but at 6.99 (w/o discounts) I still find it hard not to recommend.
You are right about the price, it's the best aspect but my main problem is that is only made for carriers branded phones and not for the unbranded european T7373 which I have and don't want to be doing some cutting myself..
I see
I see that now, didn't realize they were only for the carrier branded models. If you try requesting it on the GadgetShieldz website they can probably accommodate your needs. That is what I did for the Tilt 2, but whether it was my request or the fact that they were gonna make one anyway I really dunno haha!
Hope you find something to suit your needs!
I already left a message on their site, but so far no answer. .
Although it's strange to me that they didn't do a shield for the original device as well
If you can, please put some pictures of your TP2 with the shield on
I'd love to see some pics of installed product, thanks.
For anyone interested in bodyguardz, now is a good time to order. They already include the 25% discount for Christmas and if you use coupon 155A6 you get another 20% off!!
I just spoke to some folks at Seidio today and they notified me that their system has a note that the Tilt 2 for AT&T will never be produced as per their Product Management team.
This is an incredible let-down for myself, and I find it hard to believe that they can't just modify the case currently for the HTC Touch Pro 2 to allow for the PTT key, and sell everyone that case regardless of your service provider.
Anyways, if anyone but myself was waiting on this case,I guess we need to find something else which is a shame.
I was waiting for this case also. I emailed them weeks ago and the return email was on the line that they are in the process of developing products for the tilt 2. So yes, this news is disappointing.
My suggestion, don't spend the extra money for a half-baked case. There are PLENTY of alternatives out there on ebay. I have one and it's wonderful and cost about 1/10 of what any of these "upscale" brands charges.
Sorry, forum was messed up.
Yes, I purchased one of those and it did not come close to fitting my Tilt 2.
For those of us with a Dremel and too much time on our hands, is it possible to mod the Seidio case to a near OEM look. Seems like taking about 3/8 of an inch off the PTT side would be golden. Opinions?
I'm not personally interested in having to pay so much money to "make do".
What I've personally decided to try is the Seidio holster that works with out phone, and a GadgetShieldz full body protection. I was actually really impressed with how this phone looked and didn't want to hide it, so this might be a good compromise.
I use a hard case I found on ebay for about $9. It works wonders, combined with a holster side pouch I bought on the street in NYC for $5. Total $14.
MUCH less than anything Seidio wants to charge.
Just had live chat with Seidio and this is the result.
Angela: hello
Customer74: hello
Customer74: Will you be making the innocase for the tilt 2?
Angela: Yes, we will be, but we don't have an exact ETA yet.
Customer74: Thank you.
Angela: You're very welcome. Is there anything else I can assist you with?
Customer74: Not at this time, thank you.
I had a long chat with them within a day of the original post and they emphatically stated that they were not making it. Who knows....
methinks they're messing with you.
I spoke with them on the phone today (as apposed to the chat like last time) and they again told me that it was not going to be released. I was unable to get any more details.
By the time they get around to making it, it will be like wanting to buy a case for the original tilt - there will be another phone out all off us are moving to =P
I am afraid you are right.

I just applied the GadgetShield a few hours ago and it's already looking great!
Going to wait until tomorrow to try placing it into the case - after feeling the new rubbery skin of the phone (which looks great) I'm not sure it will work together.
When I talked to them in early Dec, they told me at the end of Dec. :-(
Is it possible to use the Touch Pro II case and let it just cover up the other button?
I saw the post regarding modification, just wondering if its possible to ignore the button all together.
I had this case for my original tilt and hated it.
Going with a full phone gadget shield and then a slide-leather case.
the bulkiness of the innocase is just too much for me.
I am curious if anyone else, with a ViewSonic G Tablet and the Skinomi Skin Protector, received a skin that does not seem to match the layout of the tablet, both front and back. I ordered the skin that protects the front and back and what I received just does not seem to line up with anything.
The front has only one hole and an odd 1 inch x .5 inch rectangle in it. The hole does not match up to my camera aperture or my light sensor aperture. The rectangle makes absolutely no sense.
The back is the most messed up skin I have seen. I know the skins come in a few different pieces that fit together like a puzzle but the back has two main parts to it and those main parts do not fit together because they seem to go on two different hemispheres of whatever they think this skin should fit on. Then the four rubber plug holes that are in each corner do not match up to the skin holes. They are not even close. That is the best I can describe the back. It has to be the wrong skin is my conclusion.
Overall this skin is smaller both width and length wise. The picture that is shown in the product page is definitely not what I received. If the actual product is suppose to be different there was no disclaimer stating that the picture shown was just for example purposes and not a reflection of the actual product.
If anyone can give me some feedback on their own experiences I would greatly appreciate it. I sent Skinomi an e-mail about this but I explicitly explained to them that I would not be paying for return shipping and that they WILL be sending the correct product through a 2-day shipping scheme. That is if it was the wrong product that was sent to me. If it is in fact the right product then I am definitely getting my entire purchase price back.
I have been through the situation where the wrong product was shipped before and the problem was remedied but it is a big time sink and nuisance to the customer. If only you could charge companies, that screw up like this, for the time and effort you have put forth. It might actually prompt them to make sure they get it right the first time.
U can check another thread here about screen protector from skinomi. A lot of feedback there. Some ppl also complain about wrong measures... maybe they are having some system issues and geting wrong orders... i dont know. I ordered just a front cover and its perfect... camera and left hole are present...
It even improved my viewing angles with no sensivity lost

Hey heres my thread on the Protector you purchased.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=904814 Go ahead and post your issue there. It seems the last few days a few people recieved the wrong order. I have multiple full screen protectors I ordered from them and they fit perfectly. I am not sure why they are messing up now. One user reported they only got the protector for the screen and not the bezel. very strange and we have sent emails and exchanged phone calls with the company. I would not pay for return shipping either. Defiantly not your fault and Please keep us up to date on how they resolve this with you.
I just receive my shipment on Friday and have the same problem; they definately shipped the wrong skin to me. I should charge them for my time to deal with this...

+1, they should cover return + replace with correct item.
There email support isn't that prompt but they eventually reply, and when I was complaining about the lack of updates about the order status, when they eventually replied back they did offered immediate replacement. I did receive my skin on that day though, so I emailed back and told them it wont be necessary for them to send replacement.
Best of luck,
Mine was fine. Early order. This is too bad for them as they really got a great boost here. I hope they make it right and regain their position as the only one out there with a custom screen and a reasonable price.
I recieved mine with two holes for the camera and the sensor. everything fits perpectly
yes.. guess they are having no idea of the free publicity we are giving them here...
else they would make an effort to serve better
I am updating the status of this thread. I called Skinomi today and, after calling their customer service line 6 or 7 times, I got through to someone, instead of the voice mail they really wanted me to use.
I explained the situation and the female that helped me was pleasant and told me that she would ship out the correct skin right away. I explained that I needed it by Friday since I am moving on Saturday and the snail mail they send it in normally would not have made it to me in time. She told me that they are not able to ship it any faster than their normal free shipping option, unless I choose it when I purchased it. I politely told her that she was incorrect and that of course they could send it through 2-day shipping. She began to stumble over her words and then told me she would talk to her manager.
So the manager, Alex, got on the phone and he asked that I take a picture of the skin I received so that they can see what skin is being shipped by accident. After explaining the skin to him he figured out that the skin I received was the Archos tablet skin. He then told me that they would ship out the correct skin within an hour or two and that I could count on getting it within 1-2 days. I thanked him very much and that concluded the conversation. The test will be in 2 days whether or not I get the skin or not. I have dealt with a few companies before that tell me they will ship it as 2-day and then never do. I hope Skinomi is better than that.
I will keep you all updated.
youve given me the idea to call them tomorrow. I think their shipping sucks..I ordered last week from them..wednesday..on friday i ordered some stickers from androidstickers to go with the skin..guess which came first??!!! yeah androidstickers beat them and skinomi had a two day head start..both are on the west coast..Ridiculous..They gave me a tracking number that still shows no movement!!
Done with skinomi, thats just unacceptable
Updating: It is the 2nd day of the 1-2 days that Alex from Skinomi told me it would take for my correct skin to get to me and I received nothing. It seems that this Alex guy from Skinomi was blowing smoke up my arse. I am sad for this because I will never recommend Skinomi to anyone, regardless of how nice the skin is when it finally gets to me. I have been using my Tablet sparingly for fear that I might scratch up the screen before I get the skin on it. Now I only hope that I get the skin before I move on Saturday. It is going to be even more of a let-down if I have to wait for the shipment to be redirected to my new house, 220 miles away.
So let this thread be a warning to anyone contemplating purchasing a Skinomi product. You might order the correct item but there is no guarantee you will get the correct one and then you will be forced to wait even longer for the correct item to be reshipped to you, and that is if you can make it through to someone on the phone. Otherwise you will have to wait for their ridiculously slow response time via e-mail.
I will update this thread when I do finally receive my correct item but anyone following this thread might be waiting a few extra days for that to happen.
I ordered mine on 1/19/2011 and received it on the 24th. I fit very well. The holes for the camera and light sensor were right on.
It sounds like a "crap-shoot" with them. I do not think I have been this unhappy with a company's customer service in a long while.
You're not alone...they gave me false promises too..been waiting since the 18th for my order and nothing but bunk tracking numbers is what they give me
A quick update, even though I have not received my "correct" order.
I called Skinomi since I did not receive my order yet in order to see if they really did send it 2nd day mail, like Alex from Skinomi claimed he would send it. Guess what? They did not. George, the manager that talked to me, said it was through the normal USPS priority mail, the same as my first order that took 5 days to get to me. I asked George why they did not send it 2nd day like I was told they would and he informed me that they cannot do that. I then asked him why they could not.
They are within the US so they should have access to UPS or FedEx delivery. What baffles me the most is that this George guy told me he would refund my order total completely ($24.95). So they can send out a replacement order and then when they screw that up they can refund my order but they cannot pay the money to send the replacement order through 2nd or even 3-day mail? Then as this guy was ending the call he says to me, before I can retort, that in the future if I need the item in 2-days that I should choose the 2nd day shipping when I make the purchase. If he would not have hung up I would have cussed him out. I would not have to worry about the shipment getting to me on-time if they would have sent the correct item in the first place. The 2nd day mail request came when I realized that I would not get the replacement in-time for my move downstate.
This company has their priorities ass-backwards. I plead with anyone that plans on getting a skin from this company to please stay away from them.
It is unfortnate that an employee must have mispoken and promised 2nd day or overnight service. The reality is, next day service would cost them more than the $15 that they recieved for the goods. Shipping costs eat the majority of profit on these small items these days if they have to be shipped any other way than 3 day priority mail / flat rate box etc. UPS and Fed Ex are going to run close to $20 for minimum overnight shipment. I have a small mail order business and not including the $7 drop ship fee I pay the vendor (I can not afford to stock the items) the cheapest UPS shipping on a one pound box anywhere even close to the source is a minimum of $9 and as much as $12. I only charge $10 shipping which means that I pay close to $18 shipping on an item that I pay $30, sell (have to be competative) for $59 plus $10 shipping. So bottom line is I make about $21 gross before advertising and web site fees. If someone wants to return something and I then have to ship a replacement, that eats up shipping again both ways and everyone loses money!
That all having been said, they need to speed up their shipping. It sounds like they are vending out this product and just re-selling them when they get the order and may not even stock them. Why else would it take so long? That means that most of their cost is in the shipping tube and postage! Not much margin on $15.00 gross sales price.
This is through Skinomi themselves. I recognize that shipping it a decent cost but that should simply be a motivator for getting the order right the first time. What it really comes down to is that they shipped the wrong item, not just to me but many others, and they must eat the cost that is associated with their mess-up.
I own my own computer repair business and if I make a mistake while building a computer I do not charge the customer the price for a second hard drive or CPU (whatever the damage item might be). I also do not charge them for the extra time it took me to reinstall the new component. I eat the cost. I might even give them a discount for their time and lost productivity depending on the situation. By them deciding to only ship the replacement through the same snail-mail shipping, they are, in a way, disregarding my time spent waiting for this item. In my case I am moving on Saturday and my case is unique in that I will have to wait even longer if the shipment does not come before I move because the order will have to be redirected to my new house, 200ish miles away.
I ordered mines a few days ago and it came today. It fits almost perfect.

So I am sure no one really cares anymore but I did want to just update this thread real fast but first of all I must implore anyone in the US to not use the free shipping option that Skinomi offers on their website because it is through the United States Postal Service and they are part of the reason why I STILL do not have my replacement/correct order yet.
I just received an e-mail from Skinomi saying that they received my return order and that they cannot process my refund since it has been over 30 days from when my order was placed. My jaw literally dropped when I read this. I have been waiting at my new address since the 31st of January for my order that, due to Skinomi lying and telling me the order would be 2nd day shipped to me, I did not receive my replacement order in time before I moved on the 29th. So I have been waiting patiently for my package to show up from USPS via the forwarding that I set up through the USPS. So over half a month later I get that e-mail saying that they received the return order from me...
So if I am understanding this correctly the USPS screwed up and did not forward this package to me at my new address but sent it back to the sender. I truly hope this is not the case because I am already seeing red and I cannot fathom how a company like Skinomi and the USPS continue to exist if this type of crap happens. It all started with Skinomi sending me the wrong skin in the first place and then sending the replacement through snail mail instead of the 2nd day like they told me they would on the phone so that it would make it to me before I moved. Then the postal service and their just god-awful service.
If I have anything to say about Skinomi it is STAY THE FRICK AWAY! They are just terrible. Yeah, one person had a bad experience does not speak for the whole company. I have read about a lot of bad experiences that other people have had with Skinomi.
Please do not recommend Skinomi, XDA Developers, if you are. You are doing the community a disservice by doing so.
Well I live in the US and I received my screen protector from Skinomi in 3 days. The screen protector works beautifully for me. I personally would not hesitate to order another screen protector from them since everything worked great and they shipped quickly. I had never heard of this company before purchase other than the responses in this thread and I am really happy with the product. Just because you had a bad experience does not mean that this happens with all orders. This is just my experience and opinion.
Thanks
