I have searched high and low for a widget similar to the stock widget that will
a) display images in a sideshow, and
b) allow me to set the size of the widget.
I've seen a lot that will do one, but not the other, and the ones that CAN do both have a HUGE frame. I just want a simple, plain (stock-like) frame.
I don't know how, or I would make one myself.
The future looks so... Vibrant
I was kind of surprised the stock one wasn't a slide show...

I am looking for the following that I haven't been able to find by searching:
-Widget with different sizes
-Widget will automatically slideshow from selected drawers at a set interval (with random as option)
-You can scroll through the photos by swiping, preferrably seamless (with the help of a launcher that allows scrollable widgets I guess) so you can scroll really quick
-Clicking a picture will bring you its source
Would this be possible (or is there such a widget already)?
I have not found anything like this but would love to have it.
Would like this also... thought i'd 'bump' the short thread.

Great idea.. Whoever decides to jump on board should test with one of the new 7 inch tablets as well.. Having extra screen estate means bigger thumbnails for Widgeez especially anything picture related.
Multi Picture Live Wallpaper does more or less what you want.
You can have an empty screen and cycle the background.
Obviously not a widget, but it comes close to what you want.
(can't yet add the link for you unfortunately)
I know exactly what you might be looking for...
I had a "Sony Xperia Arc LT15a" on gingerbread.. and it had a scrolling gallery widget where the pictures shuffled in folder order when you touch the widget and I cant find it anywhere. If anyone can find anything similar msg me please!
If you haven't already you should definitely check this out: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1857493
Its good but what I'm really looking for is simply an automatic slideshow version of the stock android photo gallery widget. I like the way it stacks the photos, shows them in high res and responds to flicking through them - I just wish it would animate automatically!
I need slide widget 'xperia style' too. Is it present?
Up!
Hey,
I'm looking for photo icons (2x1, 3x1, 2x1, 1x2, ...) to use with desktop visualizer. I have so far found these two only (and a few that I seemed to have roaming my PC):

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=9139570#post9139570
But I would like some more as I don't fully like them and want to see more.
I'd prefer icons with text on them, but I don't have photoshop to do it myself (let alone that I can work with it).
If anybody has a link to a set, that would be greatly appreciated. I googled but I could not find any, perhaps I am using the wrong key words?
Cheers!

Thanks a lot Those look great. Sadly the text is a bit blurred from resizing it to wildfire size.
I might give making them myself a shot. Does anybody know the optimal resolution for 3x1 and 2x1 wildfire icons? (so that there would be a small space between nearby icons)
Anybody that can tell me the resolutions? I would think just 3/4 the wildfire width resolution, but perhaps there is a standard for these kinds of things that I don't know (with desktop visualiser etc)
Cheers
To begin with, I'm far from new to Android, just new to Samsung and the Note.
Also - I know I'm not the only one with this problem but I haven't run across a solution yet. I can take and image I want to use as a wallpaper and, on the lock screen and the Touch whiz home screen and it looks exactly like I want it to. But, since I'm one of those folks who dislikes the fact that I can't swap out apps on the TW launcher bar, I slap my own launcher on the Note to make it mine again. Unfortunately, then comes the annoying part.......
Whatever photo I put up as wallpaper looses resolution and seems to explode in size so that only about 1/4 of the original wallpaper/ photo is visible and what's left is very blurry. I know this isn't limited to just one launcher - I've tried ADW, Launcher Pro, Nemus, Go Launcher, Holo, and a few more I can't remember the names of right now. And they all give me the same problem.
So far I've changed the format of the wallpaper photo to .png or .jpeg and back again, tweaked the size and resolution of the picture, dug through XDA and a few other forums fort wisdom, and used harsh language on my Note - all to no avail. So, can anyone tell me what I'm missing or if there's any hope for me at all? I'm rooted stock 2.3.6 and would prefer, for various reasons, to stay that way for now. But, at this point I'm willing to consider options if all else fails since I'm getting quite annoyed by this.
Thanks for any help/ insight!
Use the Quickpic app to set the wallpaper.
Thanks! I'll give that a shot.

Good evening!
Wallpaper sizing always seems to be a bit of an issue, been reading online to try and find a decent answer, but none seem to apply to this phone in particular. They went the way of removing the 'scrolling wallpaper', making it more like iPhone with its home screens being in an infinite loop with a stationary wallpaper.
The scrolling wallpaper is a subtle thing, but it's something I've gotten used to with my Samsung Fascinate (which met its unfortunate demise in an inadvertent attempt at being a submarine). I've got the Canadian (Telus) Samsung Rugby LTE (SGH-I547C) now.
IIRC, the screen resolution is 400x800. The advice I followed in setting up some of my favorite images as wallpapers was to double the width of your phone's screen, and that should do fine. So with 800x800 wallpapers loaded up, I loaded one up.
Nope.
Well first off, I did get scrolling wallpapers back with the help of GO Launcher EX. And it scrolls the wallpaper wonderfully. But the wallpaper size is still off, because the edges of all of my wallpapers are cut off.
So comes the main question: What should the size of my wallpaper really be, then? (Of course, making it specific so Android doesn't have to resize it and make it horribly blurry). Would setting a stationary number of home screens affect that at all? The 'box' that shows up to crop the image when you set a wallpaper seems to be the same regardless of the number of home screens -- a vertical screen about the size of the default resolution, with two smaller 'boxes' attached to the sides .....
Feel free to ask if clarification is required on anything! Otherwise, I'm sure someone will have an answer for something so relatively simple. =)
Hello, I just purchased a LG G2. Loving the phone, but there is one thing that is really bugging me. Perhaps someone here can help.
Why am I forced to crop an image that, when I view the image in the gallery, fits my phone screen just fine. I have this image that I downloaded onto my phone for my background. When I go to gallery and view it, it fits my screen beautifully. However, when I go to set that as my wallpaper, it makes me crop a small portion of the image. When I do this, the image now looks stretched and blurry. My question is, why can't I just fit the image to screen, like I can with every other phone I've used? It just doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me that I have to crop an image rather than just fit it to screen.
Thanks!
Wallpapers on 1080p devices need a resolution of 2160x1920 if you don't want to do any cropping. Otherwise there are some apps out there that let you utilize the full image. Try out Image 2 Wallpaper from the play store.
The wallpaper scrolls, so in order to not scroll to a blank background it must be made bigger.

use an app like wallpaperii wizard? sometimes if you set your wallpaper thru the setings/home screen/lockscreen sometimes it doesn't affect it so much =. I had the same problem on the nexus 4 and it seems to be a common problem with these phones I've no doubt the n5 does it as well but it would be good to be able to set the pic you see without it being distorted, anyhow I know use the above as it gives you lots of possibilities you can stretch the pics in portrait/landscape and nine times out of ten the picture that you set actually looks good .
