Is it possible to change the sensitivity of the proximity sensor on the Vibrant? I feel like it is not sensitive enough.
Hello,
If I look in the sensors section of "Android System Info", it doesn't list a light sensor (I believe that the light sensor is used to dim the screen when it's dark). The thing is, I've seen the screen dim by itself before. If I put my hand on top of the phone (where the proximity sensor is located... I think...), the screen dims. If I remove my hand, the screen gets brighter.
Does the X10 have a light sensor or not? Is it possible that the light sensor is "hardwired" to the screen without "passing" through the OS to dim the screen?
The light sensor on my X10 is to the left of the earpiece. To the right are the proximity sensor and further right is the notification led.

Since you can disable it in the settings, i don't think it's hardwired.

Good point, I don't understand why android system info cannot see it though. Same goes for the service menu, it seems it's the only sensor in there that cannot be tested.

Main question: is the light sensor always on even if I turn off the "automatic brightness" in Display settings?
If the answer is no, I might have to reconsider the usage about light sensor lock.
(I thought the sensor is working at all time, so add the light sensor lock would not draing the battery faster)
How can I change the sensitivity on the proximity sensor? The default range gives the sensor a slow response and I want to change that.
Light proximity sensor on when me startup phone. My screen phone not off on during call. I test proximity on soft not working.
