[Request] NEW HTC_CIME .zip patches (with quick input method)
Thanks Paul for the old HTC_CIME for N1 and desire.
Now, HTC had released the new version of HTC_CIME in Desire 2.2 ROM (HKCSL Version), which includes Quick input method.
I would like anyone may help for extracting the input method into a independent framework. Thanks for the great work for extracting the ROM!
PS, Would anyone mind to provide a low-res version as well!
Thanks!

I am also finding this. Anyone can help?

Customized 1.72.187 Extended ROM (No Blackberry)

I have received requests to customize the 1.72.187 UK ROM for Asian users. As requested, here it is.
This extended ROM is based on the latest UK release of 1.72.187, and was customized for asian users of the XDA II.
All the latest versions of the software in the base ROM are included, minus all O2 UK custom settings and software, however all configuration settings are set to the old Asian extended ROM version 1.60.44.
I also added the latest drivers/software for the Socket Communications SDIO Wifi card and the XDA II Thumb Keyboard which automatically install as a part of the post install tasks.
I had to remove the Java MIDlet Manager included in the base ROM since the size limit of the extended ROM was exceeded, and I also removed the O2 Active UI since it is customized for O2 UK users. I included the installer .CAB file for the MIDlet Manager in the .ZIP file so that it can be installed manually after the ROM upgrade if desired.
CHANGES from the other custom ROM (1.72.181):
1. Based on the UK ROM version 1.72.187
2. No Blackberry support
3. Added the ClearType font fix from ROM version 1.60.44
4. Added the Extended ROM Viewer patch (Extended ROM can now be seen in File Explorer)
I have already tested it on my Xda II and I had no problems with flashing it and I am currently experiencing no issues with it whatsoever.
THe download is available further down in this thread, I removed the old download because it was corrupted.

Would you consider to put in the SRS rotation and key as well?
Also, can you provide a brief guide for how to install the file?
The files you attached is just the nbf file. Also, what's the use for the password?
Thanks again.

When the SRS backporting to the Xda II is at its most stable stage, I will include it in the extended ROM, as of now I feel its still unstable, although I feel that the guys working on it are doing an excellent job (my personal opinion).
To use the file is just 3 steps:
1. Extract the contents of the original UK ROM update (Xda_II_172187_Final.exe) into any directory of your choice with WinZip.
2. Extract the ms_.nbf from the custom ROM I posted into the same directory that you extracted the files from step 1, overwriting the original ms_.nbf.
3. Run the HimaUpgradeUt.exe executable to flash your device.
The password is for users whou would like to further customize the ROM where openning it up requires a password. I only posted the extended ROM since it was the only part of the original ROM that was customized, and posting the entire ROM would just result in a larger download.
Many thanks.
Understood now.
Tried the ROM but have problem with my C-guys wifi card....
Not sure whether it is the wlan software has some conflicts with the C-guys driver, have uninstalled the wlan software and will try the C-guys card again.
where can find the ROM?
Hi,
I tried to register, but the "Confirmation code: picture" appears as RED X.
Can someone show me where can I get this ROM without registering to this forum?
TIA

libwebcore.so that handles Arabic

Hi,
I came across a project that modifies libwebcore.so so that it's able to connect and display Arabic letters properly. I downloaded the compiled libwebcore.so (Cupcake version) and downloaded Arabic fonts, then copied them over to my hero, rebooted, and the phone hang on the boot screen.
I restored the phone now and it works again, but obviously no Arabic for me. So just asking here; has anyone tried this here? Does it work? There are different versions of libwebcore.so (for 1.5, 1.6 and 2.0). Has anyone tried them? (I'm still on 1.5)
here's the project link: hxxp://code.google.com/p/arabicandroid
thanks
If anyone is interested in this. The current cupcake version is the only one that doesn't work. Donut and Eclair versions work fine and CAN render Arabic text perfectly for all the apps the use the default browser. I haven't tested this myself yet, but other users have confirmed this to me on another forum.
So, currently downloading KaguDroid (thanks Lox), and will probably edit later to confirm.
EDIT:
Yup, works now
2nd EDIT:
Just found out the dev (Ayman Alsanad) who made this, has updated cupcake version with a fix. So, worth giving a try if you're still on 1.5. I'm not bothered to go back to MCR now, i only miss senseui in this awesome rom from Lox.
Hi,
I can confirm that libwebcore.so don't work with Hero because HTC UI sense.
So you have to choose HTC UI or Arabic in web browser.
Regards
I don't think it's got anything to do with HTC's SenseUI. The developer acknowledged that the previous build for 1.5 had a problem and he actually updated it. I can't test it right now, since I installed KaguDroid (Android 2.0), but really worth a shot if I was still on 1.5.
If I was you I'd give it a try. Here's a link to the updated libwebcore.so
hxxp://arabicandroid.googlecode.com/files/libwebcore.so.cupcake
Just rename it to libwebcore.so and push it to /system/lib on your Hero and also don't forget to push Arabic fonts to /system/fonts and reboot. Also, do a nandroid backup before, so that you can restore if it doesn't work.
Good luck
Yes I tried it before and it's hang at Hero logo.
actually I tried all libwebcore.so versions (cupcake, donut and eclair) and same result hang at Hero logo, except if I use any ROM without HTC sense like KaguDroid and Hikaria ROMs.
If you have cupcake without HTC Sense it will work perfectly.
Regards
Well, I tried it before and i had the same result (hang at boot screen), but since there's a fix update, I thought maybe you'd want to try it. The reason I say that is that it actually works for me now on Android 2.0 and the update was only posted yesterday.
Anyway, I'll have a chance to test it for my friend who has a Hero with MCR3.1 tomorrow. I'll post here if the update works.
There is no update yesterday!
Cupcake uploaded in Dec 07!
libwebcore.so.cupcake Compiled WebCore Library that supports Arabic - Copy to /system/lib/ (Only for Android 1.5 - Cupcake) (Change file name to libwebcore.so) Dec 07 3.9 MB 177
This lib I used it and it gave me same result!
Regards
I checked yestereday and noticed this text
Code:
تحديث جديد
إمكانكم التحديث إلى الاصدار الجديد (1.5) من تعريب الاندرويد الآن تم اصلاح جميع مشاكل التعريب السابقة ...
It wasn't there when I tested it first. You're right about the time stamp, so I'm not sure if I want to try it on my friend's mobile now. Thanks anyway.

[OUTDATED] Documents Tab for Manila / Sense 2.5.1921xxx ?

Hi,
MY HTC HD2 (LEO) is running:
Stock ROM - hTC_Asia_WWE_1.48.707.
Manila - 2.5.19211619.0
Radio - 2.05.51.05_2
Protocol - 15.28.50.07U
I have flashed 2 ROMs so far (PDAVIET v09, then freyberry_premium_V5.3_23518). Both have the Documents Tab which works great for me. Unfortunately, i've had to re-flash my HD2 to the stock ROM because of Chinese language, localized Opera, and other features made for the Asia region.
Would it be possible that I can install only the Documents Tab, (perhaps via a CAB file or some other method), onto my existing ROM?
While I have made every effort to search the forum and google for alternatives without any solution, I apologize if this question has been asked and answered before.
Many thanks in advance (for any solution that would make my HD2 the dream phone that it already almost is) !

I remember when installing MTP that you had to delete HKLM/software/HTC/Manila/configuration so it can rebuild.
Also you might need to delete /Windows/ManilaFull.xml.
You may also need to edit 26948339_manila file to add new session.
the cab is not working

[Q] How to import language support for the roms?

Dear All Friends;
I tried to cook my roms for about 6 months, and I have some good progess, but the only thing that I can not fix is, that I could not add persian(Or arabic) language support to roms, and this is because of the nature of the languages, I do not need the roms to show any menu or anything in persian, but I want them to support the characters and show them good.
The persian need characters to be connected and written from right to left, but in any rom that you COPY just FONTS, the rom just shows the characters in not proper format.
After many researches I found that language related files are, libskia, libskiagl and webcore in libs folder, so I tried to use these libs files and copy them from A rom that support these well to my rom, but after doing this, the rom does not run properly and stoped at the HTC logo at the starting of the cellphone in HTC SPLASH SCREEN...
I do not know what should I do..
If any one knows anything about this, please help me..
Any help has been appreciated...
The way to import is:
1- Add your language ( here persian ) to System/Fonts ( maybe you need to replace with the existed fonts. )
2- In some languages (Hebrew, Arabic, Persian) you need to have the usefull LIBSKIA, LIBSKIAGL and WEBCORE in your system/libs to support the characters that you added in first step, correctly.
The problem:
I tried to add the LIBSKIA, LIBSKIAGL and WEBCORE from a rom that supports the Persian and Arabic well to this folder in my own rom that did not support those well.
BUT, After installing rom in cellphone, It did not go to HomeScreen and freezed in HTC SPLASH SCREEN that showed in rom installing time.
I do not know how can I use them, please some one help me...
And me too

Guys,
I heard from android developers that HarfBuzz (which used in chrome for complex layout) will be used in honeycomb. So most probably all the languages that Chrome/Chromium support will be supported in honeycomb. Hope some one could port this to 2.1 2.2 2.3 also. I don't know weather the source is available yet.

well i have tried that too it doesnt work
i think only 2 developers were succesful in doing that
ayman el snd in his web site ardoid .com he makes a custom .zip flashable file for each rom specifically and you are right this 2 lib files (libwebcore.so & libskia.so)are modified and also framework.jar
so its rom specific not in general
and there were an arabic developer here on xda which provided cyanogen with arabic support in his latest roms so any rom based on cyanogenmod rom latest supports arabic but limited only to messaging and you have to install smart keyboard and arabic keyboard for smart keyboard so you can write arabic
and for browser the only way to show arabic letters properly is installing persian browser which fixes the problem after each page loads
ofcourse its partial solutions
i would love to help on anyway to provide a way to custom edit the lib files of any rom just needs DEVs here to point the way how to edit such files

Thanks man...
You helped me so much..
You mentioned that those lib files that the aymen el snd made is not for a specific device, Am I Right???
It means we can use them in our roms, but how does this possible?? Each rom needs its own libs, how can we use one lib for all the devices?? (Would you please talk about it more? and which version of roms do these libs support? (2.2 ,2.1 or 2.3)

well what i'm said that he is making a .zip file for each rom release he is always up to date with new releases of roms like the OTA roms and cyanogenmod roms
you can check his website for more details of the supported devices and roms
he made a generic .zip file but that mostly doesnt work
what i have learned that he gets the lib files source code of a certain rom and then add the arabization codes then compile the lib files so the lib files would be identical to the ones in the rom + arabization snippets of code
i'm glad to help you in anyway
i really want to have more time to investigate that but i dont for now

I saw his web page, and find what he did...
unfortunately I did not find anything for HTC Legend, so I need to do what you said myself, if I want to do this for legend..
The problem is I am programming in VB.Net not Java or C# or C++, so I am strange in codding in java for doing this...
I have to find a way to do this, find the Arabbizer Snippets...

[REQUEST] - In-Call Screen and Dialer

here's a request to all the learned devs/themers/modders on this forum:
the in-call screen from TORNADO NEXUS V2 rom is cool. it has call-recording option/icon directly available (screenshot below). can any of you make a flashable zip for using the same in all/any rom(s) - or at least in stock update rom (odexed), which is really stable and best suited for production use?
can you also modify this dialer (provided as a patch for SLT-Nexus-TSUNAMI Ex-Advanced Edition rom) to work in stock update rom? it works well at lower dpi without getting distorted/misaligned.
here are some files:
tornado nexus v2 Phone.apk: https://www.dropbox.com/s/gc80gl0j0nl8c4l/Tornado Nexus v2 Phone.apk

if you need any more files from stock update rom, let me know. thanks a lot in advance.
p.s.: if such stuff already exists, please provide proper links. thanks again.
