Hi all,
Has anyone else given the app 'Tasker' a shot?
It's a phone automaton thing, allows you set your phone to do all sorts of things automatically depending on events, state changes, location, date or time etc.
I been giving it a whirl, seems good so far, but only learning.
Was wondering on other peoples options and if anyone has tips or profiles to share?

You could put this in the APPS CORNER do a little write up about it with a link to the app thanks
Sorry, only seeing that now under sticky topics tab in XDA app. Will make an entry there now, thanks mate. Feel free to remove this topic if you want.

Hard to say. Worse case scenario flash back to stock and then reroot. Download rom manager and flash recovery and then you can backup your current rom and everything on it that way if you make a mistake moving forward you can always revert back instead of starting over. I learned that lesson the same way you did.
What did the app do? Do you remember that at least?
Sounds like a task manager.
maybe advanced task killer
It was similar to a task manager but that was not its main focus ..bah oh well I guess... If i remember the name I'll let you all know, its an amazing app.

when you opened the app.. a box/rectangle that was almost the same size as the screen would pop up but you could still see the background of either the app drawer or what ever screen you had the app on, in the box it would be a list of actions that the app could do, such as end all tasks... there was one that said favorite apps that you could put all your fav apps in instead of having your desktop flooded with apps. those are the only ones i remember, they are the only ones i ever used.
i found it just a few days ago... i saw a review or somthing that made mention of the app and i was all ehh ill check it out and i loved it! ugh its driving me insane now that i cant remember it..
Was it jkAppSwitch by any chance?
Maybe android mate...

Smart Bar. Also allows for you to kill mobile data, amongst many others, with a quick settings toggle. I am positive that that's your app.

I was wondering how to get different icons for my vibrant I've seen some folks uusing the Mario mushrooms and some had better looking web and contacts stuff like that.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
I think they either used better cut or desktop visualizer
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Is better cut easy to use or will there be some learning to go threw?

From what I learned everything is a learning process when it comes to XDA, check out the market for apps that change icons and your user interface, another suggestion is to check out the Vibrant Themes and Apps section. There is plenty of mods and themes there, I'm currently using the Black Froyo Theme and loving it! Check out some pics of it here
Okay, before I start off I know I know, And yes, I have searched...ALOT. with no results of course and yes I know This may be in the wrong section and I'm sorry..but anywho, I'm looking for a set of tiles I think they were called Scrabble tiles or something like that, but if anyone vould refer me to any good tile set for my vibrant for use with adw to get that tile look well thank you but also, if you could, please inform me on what dimensions my columns and tows should be in thanks alot guys

first off, theres no bad question in the Q/A section. when in doubt, this and general are the safest places to post.
now onto your question, its a little unclear what youre looking for. do you mean youre liking for scrabble-tile icons for your homescreen?
Like I always see people with theses tiles as there apps. Like say a long headbud picture for the music, that's what I wanna have a go at

You need Desktop Visualizer from the Market.
Its an app that lets you set widgets, and it will look like a WM7 phone. THey are not live widgets though.
There is a thread in the android theme section (not vibrant) with a very lengthy guide, and a lot of images you can use. It looks sweet once setup, but it wasnt for me.
you need ADW to be 5x5, I do recall that.
Thanks for he info link perhaps? Buy I will go searching

I don't understand why 2 minutes aprox the screen turns off.... the music stops.
I already verified In task manager the music application is not in auto-end list.
Any help?

i have the same problem.
So I had this problem for a while. I read on a different forum that there's a bug that links the gallery app to the music app.
Therefore, you need to make sure the gallery app is not under auto kill. Make sure you enable viewing of native apps.

Joelszs,
It works! Thanks.
I removed gallery from autoend list and then the music doesn't stop.
People this is the right solution!

This is awesome I was just about to post about this problem when I saw this. I thought it was something I had frozen in the system apps, glad I don't have to test each application individually that would've been a pain.
Glad I could save you the pain I had. That's why its so important we keep the atrix forums alive!

Spoke too soon, that didn't fix it for me. Oh well back to troubleshooting.

Any chance you could let me know which other system apps you have on the auto end list? I'm thinking it's still a problem with the auto end because it stops after the screen goes off, so it probably isn't a frozen app, or at least so I think
Try removing all apps from autoend list, and test again.
If works... only add to the list apps not related to music, video and pictures.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
it is still working for me as well. I haven't had a single instance of the problem in over two weeks.
Make sure that gallery is still off?

How do you make sure the gallery app is not under auto kill? Is there a special app for this or could this be found in the settings? Sorry for the newbie question. Thanks in advance.
If you open task manager and then press menu, there is an option listed to show all native apps, in addition to the ones you've downloaded. After you enable that, click on the auto end apps. section of tasks manager. gallery should be listed alongside the. camera, etc.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
the important is that , MUSIC and Gallery are all not in autoend list.
Don't have a market link for it, but this is by far the most unique launcher I ever used. Its styled after magazines and you can change just about everything. It even has page turning transition effects. A go launcher replacement in my opinion. Go check it out Lord willing

gave it a shot. I like the concept -- but its not for me.
very fast and smooth on my CM7 atrix though.
Definitely interesting.
After emailing the dev, found its closed source though. Personally not fond of using an app with so many permissions without access to source (same story with GO apps)
ADW is still for me, but thanks for sharing.

Wow really tempted to make it a keeper!
Omg has greek language too YOOHOO!!
Really great Launcher, thanks for the tip... this is my new fav.

I came across after a post somewhere here, and it is a ripper. It gives massively more customisation than anything I've seen to date. Effectively you can even set things almost to the pixel, and set every attribute of it. I say things, because you can add may things.
Now that I have freed myself from app launching woes in each launcher by using a combination of WaveLauncher and FolderOrganizer, I can swap launchers at will. I no longer need to mess with app groups in each one, and can customise widgets alone. This one will be one of my all-time faves, I can tell.
I look forward to it progressing. I already have a few suggestions!
I haven't tried this launcher yet, but I also have use both wave/folders together. I find it much more efficient Anne completely frees up my screens.
