Does anyone know of an mp3 player that has a hold function where tapping the screen won't work or a player that will still work after my sx56 is turned off. Also I bought the cheap earbud headphones off AT&T's website. Is there anyway to map the answer phone button to have other functions (such as next track).
I asked a very similar question in these forums recently, and got the perfect answer: WMP already allows you to lock the screen.
In the player, go to Tools -> Settings -> Buttons and map 'Screen toggle' to one of your hardware buttons. (I mapped it to the 'Action' button - the centre of the cursor.) Now, when I press this button while WMP is playing, the screen is turned off and locked.
Hope this helps.

mapping the button on my earpiece
Is there anyway I can map the answer call button on my earpiece to goto the next track. I keep my sx56 in my pocket and it is annoying to have to reach in to hit the next track. Also when I am wearing the earbuds it would be nice to have the answer call button a mappable button. Thanks.
great, but not quite there
it's a great improvement, which does indeed disable the screen, but not the buttons.
I'd just like some kind of lock that disables both the screen and the keys, a la nokia phones.
cheers

hello,
i have HTC Hero with Villain ROM v. 13. i need to skip to next song with long press Vol UP, and previous with long press Vol DOWN, on EELinux ROM i can make this.
please help me to modify settings so go with long press Vol UP next song.
also i have iPhone 4 headset and work only play/pause button, i need to skip song or increase volume with headset buttons.
please help me and sorry for my english.
I am surprised to see that the vol up /down buttons did anything for you with the iPhone headset, the onlything I ever saw working was the middle button witch seems to have the same effect as the middle button on the HTC Headset.
maybe If you find out the intents the buttons on each specific headset triggers you can help devs implement it.
I unfortunatly cannot do this myself as both my apple and HTC Headsets broke.
Can you actually call with the Apple Headset? For me the apple mic never worked.
PS: AFAIK there is no Setting for the wired buttons, it either works or it doesn't.
The entire question is contained in the title. I tried PowerAmp's feature, but it didn't work for me. I have the headset the S3 came with.
double-click on the pause/play button of the supplied S3 headset to skip track.

I've worked out how to do this, on my S3 at least, see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28752382#post28752382

Hey,
since the mute-button in the navigation bar (and with new LFB also in the powermenu) does not mute media volume, is there someone who could tell me how to modify the button commands to do this (muting media also) ?
Thanks!

Hi all,
I would like to change the volume during a skype call, but I cannot do this with the normal volume up/down keys during a skype call. I found that I would need to change the in-call volume, but until now, I was unable to find a setting on my non-sim tablet to do so. Can anyone help me with this?
Thanks,
