I want to push with my theme, a new start up and shut-down audio file, is it possible? I saw that .cpy command in metamorph, but not sure as to how the synax is of using it, and if it will do what I want it to do.
Cpy will directly copy any files in the folder specified. It will do exactly what you want.

Ok, next question. Is there a remove/delete command for MetaMorph, so I can make an undo file for my Theme to put it back to stock? Cause if I copy 3 ringtones to a persons system ringtone directory, and they run the undo later, I want it to remove the custom ringtones as well.
There's no real way to remove files in metammorph.

I am new to android but I was to fix PPP problems. I read how you can make changes in the build.prop file to fix it.
How exactly do I get to it? I tried searching my SD card for that file and couldnt find it. If someone could explain to me where it is located and how to get to it and how to make changes in the file, do let me know thanks.!!
it's in /system
do I have to plug it in the computer to see the system folder? I dont see the folder anywhere....
prbly long winded, but simple method - install ASTRO file manager, browse to /system, long press on build.prop - Edit - Copy. Press on the home icon then Edit icon - Paste. Connect sd card, edit it, and paste it over from where you copied build.prop
Either make a directory like this:
e.g. E:/Android/root/system
and paste the modified build.prop in there.
Thank you I got it working.

Hi..
I wanted to change the contact images in the framework-res. I've done so far, but when I folded the new framework-res with the mod-tool push, then that too, but he shows me the new image does not accumulate in handy.
I can do or what?
My steps:
1. I replace the corresponding image (PNG format) with 7zip
2. im sending the new framework-res or contact.apk via adb mask controller on my x10i
3. reboot
4. im showing in contacts and the image ist the same as before
looking like a rat i handle it?
"Title: Edit Contact Picture"
you should edit "contacts.apk" located in "/system/app" not "framework-res.apk"

Have you resigned the apk?

no, like I do that?
Google it. But you will need the Android SDK or at least latest JDK and there is a script somewhere here on XDA called autosign or something like that. You will need to install those than remove the meta-inf from the modified apk put the apk file in the folder for autosign (make sure theres only one apk in the folder) then run autosign and it will create a new apk called your_signed_apk then rename it and push back to your phone.
Search "resigning apk files" and read. Theres an old thread somewhere for changing app icons i think that has everything you need to know.

System apps don't need to be signed. If you look in framework-res.apk, there's no META-INF directory.
Are you sure you replaced the framework-res.apk file correctly? I posted some info about framework-res.apk here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=11193663#post11193663
As always, back up with xRecovery before messing around with framework-res.apk. One mistake and you won't be able to boot.
I think most stock apps actually might not need to be signed, now that i think about it though. You might just need to make sure you remove the unmodified app first (copy it somewhere first for a backup) and then manually put the apk in, set permissions correctly and then reboot. This apk signing trick allows you to modify any app to change shortcut icons or customize anything you want and reinstall it correctly so it should come in handy anyways.

Okay Guy's i want to change the Color of the Lockscreen Look of this sliding Tabs. In default it is green and i want to put it in a more like cyan color. Is there any Tutorial? Or could someone tell me which files i must edit and where the files are located?
Greets
I want that too but without widgetlocker or another program.
How can i edit framework-res.apk?
I've copied the frameworkres apk via root explorer to my sdcard, put it on my pc, and unpacked it via APK Manager, i see the icons now, i can edit the png's right? How do i get the frameworkres apk back and working?
Widget locker never worked on my optimus. :/
k i've managed it by my own, it's working now.
It's really easy, copy the /system/framework/framework-res.apk via root explorer to your sd, and get it on your pc.
On your PC rename it: framework-res.apk.zip and open it, unextract the folder you want, and edit the png's you need with photoshop or stuff like that, then back in the zip, rename it back, back to the phone with it, rename the old file in system and put the new one in it. Finished.

Or you can do it with apk manager. But that's also a good way to do it.
Hello
How can i get back "AllShare Play" for my Galaxy S3? I installed another firmware and a rom and don't really know when it was deleted. I tried to find a solution but I couldn't find anything to solve the problem.
Cance
Go find a Stockish Rom that still has the bloatware........and just extract the System/app folder and put the apks that you want back into your current system/app folder.
Yeh useful tools are bloatware
Thanks for the fast answer but I don't know how to extract the folder when I have a ROM with the needed APK. Can I do this on my computer or do I have to do this on my phone?
Download the Rom to your phone or Computer.
Extract the Rom using a File explorer on your phone or a 7zip/winzip program on your PC and go through the folders...Find the
System/App folder it will be filled with every system app you can need......pick out the apks you want to add into your current set up.
save them to a folder and put them back on your phone....or if on your phone just copy them from the extracted location and navigate back to your Local System/App folder, make the Folder R/W so you can add and remove the system files.....and just paste them back in your current system folder overwriting the current ones. and set the premission to match the rest of the folder most of the time i think its rw-r-r
and reboot. sounds long.....but it only takes me 2 min to copy and replace the files and reboot.
its really simple once you do it a couple times.
hope this helps
Thank you very much, didn't know that it is this easy. I never opened the zip file of a rom ^^
What's the name of the apk? I don't see an obviously named app?
Hi,
So the situations is like this:
Just got a new LG Nexus 4, NFC enabled, GREAT!!!!
But then I start using it, and the NFC sound (everytime the phone reads a nfc-tag it makes an sound) annoys me beyond belief.
So I start looking around, it seems there's no solution, except recompiling the app.
So I learn how to compile an app (noob here), using this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1860115
I'm up to the point where my apk is decompiled, and I have modified the sound files, located in my decompiled files folder respectively at res/raw/start.ogg & res/raw/end.ogg.
I modded the files using audacity, lowering the volume to zero, used them to replace the original .ogg files. The file size is a bit smaller as the original ones (1Kb difference).
Next I use the recompile command: apktool b decompiled_apk_folder_with_modified_files modded_apk_file.apk
So now I have the new nfc apk file, called NfcNci.apk, with which I replace the original file in /system/app.
Next up I reboot my phone into recovery, wipe all cache and dalvik cache, and reboot again.
First thing that pops up on my screen is a force-close message, saying that the nfc-service force closed.
Anyone who can tell me what I did wrong? Or how I can fix this?
Attached are: my decompiled-files-folder (compressed to zip)
the original NfcNci.apk file
my modded NfcNci.apk file which causes the FC's.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!!!!
S.
Looks like you're still on 4.2
The latest NfcNci.apk has some more files.
And your apk is missing the META-INF folder.
I guess that this is the problem.
But you should use "adb logcat" to ensure we're on the right track.
Micky
1 thing i would recomend is not using the actual apk you just built. instead, open your new apk with a file manager such as 7zip and remove your newly compiled files out of it, then put them into the original apk from your rom using 7zip as well! thus keeping the apk's original signature
try to copy the least amount of files from one to another, so to be safe only pull out your new .ogg files, then put them into your original apk! hope this helps

Hi, I tried this, installed 7zip, and double clicked the original apk, I opende the res/raw/ directory, and only copied the files I was using: start.ogg & end.ogg. Then I close 7zip, and send the file to my phone. But as soon as I it them to /system/apps on my phone, and reboot to recovery, wiping the dalvik cache. I get FC's on reboot (NFC-service has FC'd).
Any reasons for this?
Thanks for the help, both of you!
BTW: I'm on Android 4.3 JB
