The last few weeks I've been using the headphones now since I'm back to working out. However, it seems at random, that the next track button stops working. When it stops working, the Play/Pause button actually skips to the next track.
I use mine a lot and can say that this has never happened to me.
Well, then I hate you. I am gonna file this as an issue due to being rooted I suppose... Won't matter soon anyways as I need to find me a good set of jogging headphones.
I run into the same problem if I use my actually comfortable headphones instead of the crappy huge buds that can't fit in my ear. These have no controls on them and when using Pandora, it will just skip until I reach the 6 skip per hour limit and then it will still do crazy random things like open my notifications and stuff. I have since gotten some even better headphones and rooted (CM Nightlies) and it no longer happens. I think it is a poorly designed headphone connector that catches random signals, but thats just my opinion.

Hmm, thats an interesting thought. I have been using the stock music player, but am now running CM6 RC1 and have not tested it again, so I'll see how that goes and report back...
So, now that I am running CM6, the headphone buttons do not work at all, and I assume it is because of the different music player being used. Anyone know how I can install the stock HTC Music Player?

Hi, had my galaxy s 2 for about a week and a half now and I'm getting different problems with sound.
2 days after it first started, when somebody called me, they couldn't hear me and i couldn't hear them, even though the sound was turned up to the max. It was the same if i called them.
Ended up factory resetting to solve the problem.
Two days ago it happened again and I just reset the phone again to fix it.
Now, when using swype keyboard its making different sounds, like the sound it's meant to make is there, but when typing certain letters it makes a faint version of that sound. Also, now I have no sound from swype at all, even though sounds are on and volume is turned up.
Is this a phone problem? Software problem (I'm guessing so) is there a fix? Should I contact Samsung to get it fixed?
PS.. I'm only using one non standard app and that is Facebook, and I'm on the stock firmware (latest)
PS2.. My screen is on a angle (Ie.. if you rub your fingers from left to right then at the end you will feel a bump, but if you rub your fingures right to left then your finger will run straight off the phone without feeling a bump) Anybody elses like this?
don't know about the other issues you have, but as far as the very well know "Volume issue" ("they can't hear you, you can't hear them") where volume is nowhere near acceptable during calls, even at max. either you download an app like volume+ (which highers all volume , except handset :-( , I had this phone since the beginning & volume was my issue for a about 2 months. My best advice is for you to update (Flash) to KH1 rom update if you have stock rom, it fixed all my issues with previous roms, and audio isn't very loud, but acceptable.
some tips:
Keep in mind that screen protectors can block speakers (if you have one) and volume can decrease significantly.
Make sure that your ear is placed EXACTLY in the speaker, like if your ear is attached to the speaker (this helped out for me, since I was accustomed to my older phone which used have my ear 1 inch away from my speaker, since it was loud)
let us know what worked for you as well..
Return the phone. The screen should not be like that. Its faulty
Ive been using my Rezound to play music through my car stereo via the AUX input and it had been doing well until now....
I just went shopping and started listening to music & the mid's/high's sounded kind of washed out and there was practically no bass coming from any of my subs. I double-checked the settings on the phone as well as on my deck but everything seemed normal.
I decided to plug in my old mp3 player to see if it still did the same thing... but no, music is playing just fine with the mp3 player. So, I plugged the phone back in and it got all fu**ed up again. I tried rebooting and its still doing the same thing.
damn you HTC and Dre!!!...
I had something similar happen the other day and found out that I didn't have the headphones plugged into the jack all the way so the contacts weren't fully connected. Might be worth checking just in case.
humorous response.
its being "weird" even with headphones now. well, now when I exchange it I can bring up the dead pixel and the audio issue. I guess I just got a bad unit.
i thought you were exhcanging this phone weeks ago and hated it or soemthing? lol

well was going to exchange it after the dead pixel yeah... my 30 days with Best Buy Mobile isn't up till the 17th so just figured i'd wait until then & get a fresh new phone again.
and no I don't hate it(how can I when its the best currently available). I'm just anxiously awaiting root as I can't stand phones stock(want to be able to add/remove whatever I want, complete customization).
I still don't know what happened to the Beats on mine... really bizarre that while Beats is enabled its doing that through AUX and headphones. I did use one of those automated temp roots recently though and noticed it gave me some random FC's. the battery died this morning though and seems to have gone back to 'normal'.
p.s. I've actually been using the camera like crazy(especially the panoramas). very disappointed about GN's 5MP.
*UPDATE*: I decided to try again today and Beats is still messed up... So, I then tried POWERAMP and music is playing normally through that... as is the Digitally Imported app. So whatever is wrong is just with Beats. (force stop, clear data & reboot haven't fixed it either)
Is anyone else having anything weird happen just to the Beats Music app?
When you did temp root, you didn't freeze music enhancer did you?
Did you try a factory reset??
It makes sense that PowerAmp works as beats doesn't work at all with that app.
I have PA installed also because I have a $400 pair of Ultimate Ears earbuds that I can easily make sound exactly like the beats sound, but I need the EQ settings from PA to do it.

no i did not.. but am thinking about temp rooting again & removing the app, then powering down to get out of temp root & have it auto load the app back again. i will try that later on.
Alright, I have a Droid 2 (actually my second one; both have had this problem), although it's not really a model-specific issue.
When I'm walking with the phone in my pocket and listening to headphones, the phone will occasionally think that the headphones have come unplugged when they haven't. This causes it to pause, and I have to take the phone out and unpause it.
Is there any way to disable the 'pause on headphone disconnect' feature? I understand that this is a hardware issue, but there is really no reason for it to pause, as the headphones are still connected.
The phone is rooted and Liberty ROM 3 v2.0 is installed, but the issue occurred when the phone was stock, too.

That can only be changed by modifying your ROM...
I noticed last night while using my phone in my quiet room that I too have the faint pop 3 seconds after a sound plays. I've found several threads on here and elsewhere relating to the HTC One and other phones having the same issue. It appears to be an OS issue rather than a specific phone or hardware issue. Some have explained that it's the amplifier shutting off after the sound has played. It's not a dealbreaker and definitely a first world problem, but this is my first Android phone after using only iPhones for the last 5 years and it is very annoying when you hear it and cant get rid of it. I also noticed this happens even if I have the sound completely off! Is this a fixable thing by google or a clever patcher?
Wow... I had never noticed this and if it weren't for this thread I probably wouldn't have. After a sound plays, it sounds like there is a sort of "static" (for lack of a better term) that plays until something shuts off. It's like on the old cassette players - the difference between the end of a tape that's playing versus having the player turned off. Weird. I really don't know what to make of it.

It's called beats audio...
It happens without beats and HTC are aware of it.
Mine does it as well, noticed it the first day I had it.

Hello everyone,
I recently got my LGV30, about 2 days ago, brand new, but from a 3rd party seller, and I noticed a very minor poping or "crackling" -- I'd like to call it more of a microcrackle than anything -- issue with the audio that happens . Specifically, when I open up the google browser, and hit the microphone icon on the search bar, about once every 10 or so times (its honestly random) I hear a micro pop or crackle in my speaker, for literally 1/4th of a second, then everything works like normal. It either happens right before the "beep" sound when the microphone icon is pushed, or just after the "beep" after it has been used, or both. It happens more often before I'm going to say something, or immediately after I'm done speaking as it types out what I said. Again, this is a very small "pop" the "ding" sound from pressing the mic still works, it just sounds a tiny bit distorted when first pressing it. Similarly, when using Gboard, and trying speech to text on the Messenger app, I hear the damn microcrackle again.
Here's the crazy thing though, I have ran about 5-6 videos on youtube that are supposed to be speaker tests (high and low frequency noise), everything sounds great. I have listened to over 10 hours of video/music and only once noticed a tiny bit of crackling, but honestly It was so quick that I'm not really sure if it wasn't just the song playing. I also have not noticed it with headphones but will continue to test this. I also picked up another android phone I had years ago, the Moto G4 Play, and tried to replicate the issue, to my surprise, my MotoG4 play has a similar issue, but its significantly more quiet than my LG. In the Moto's case, I press the microphone icon on the keyboard and I hear more of a "buzzing" sound immediately after, then, once I stop talking and hear the closing "beep" of the microphone, again, the buzzing sound. Much quieter, and likely why I never noticed it at all when using that device.
I'm just wondering if you all think this is a software issue, or a hardware issue? I have made several phone calls, people say I sound good, and I can hear them fine. I feel like something is happening when I press that button, as it doens't happen at ANY OTHER time when using audio. I'm thinking it might be the microphone "poping" itself awake? Maybe? I don't really know how this works.
Should I go through the trouble of returning the phone over this, or trying to get an exchange? It wouldn't be easy, since I bought the phone brand new off Ebay, and would need to contact seller (has 30 day money back guarantee).
Please let me know.
Thanks!
