Im quite new to all this.. So my question is: How do i update my radio? And ROM? I want to run Android on my HD2. So i really need to update radio, but i dont know if i need to update ROM? And what ROM would be good, and whats the difference between all the ROMs?
And HSPL
A guide in a link or here for me and new members would be awesome(I couldn't find anyone with the search function, thus this thread)

Hi. Just download a new radio and instal in the same way as you instal a new ROM (cooked or stock). To change ROM you need HSPL, easy to instal:

To get Android you must chage radio, you don't need to change rom but som ROM's are "android friendy" so Android works on this ROM faster and more stable.
Every ROM are different, and it depends what you want.

Don't know what to do!
I had an exclamation mark on my device maybe because I putted a wrong ROM. Later on my device didnt work anymore and then I putted hspl 1.66 on my HD2. When I open the boatloader it says that the device is spl 1.66.hspl.xe But when I try do put a nother stock (NLD radio signed 1.66 ) ROM from my windows 7 the device reaches the upgrade screen but does not proceed with the upgrade and stuck there all the time.
How can I solve this problem?

Hello. I bought my HD2 in India and it has the ROM version : 1.48.720.2(71294)WWE and the radio version: 2.05.51.05_2. HTC has not released any updates(1.66 ROM etc) in india(except for some patches like SMS, camera fix etc). Now i want to flash it to some custom ROM but before doing that i have a few questions.
a)Can i straight away install HSPL3 or it's a gradual process(from hspl1 to hspl2 to hspl3)?
b) After installing HSPL , can i choose any custom WWE ROM and radio combination ? Say if i wish to install Radio_2_10_50_26 and some energy's 6.5.5 ROM , would that be possible? Or i have to look for ROM's that are specific to my region/country.

no you can use hspl straight away make sure you choose one ending in hspl not .0000 because thats stock spl, you should prob read a bit more first by the sounds of it mate, and you can install any rom you wish and most roms will say what radio is recommended but you can also check the last few pages to see what radios people are using, hope this helps
Thanks for replying Demon_man. I 've downloaded a file called HSPL3_PKG.zip from a thread called HSPL/HSPL2 HowTo flash everything. And i 've gone through a tutorial named Flashing your First GSM 512LEO Rom (For Noobs). So what i understood is that when i will run HSPL_PKG.exe , it will ask me for the HSPL version to install(tutorial says

I have a Tmobile HD2 with SPL 2.10. I am trying to downgrade it to 1.42 so that way I can install HSPL and flash my Radio rom to the latest version.
How do I downgrade my SPL to 1.42 in order to install HSPL?

yes you can rollback to stock rom just download it from http://www.htc.com
and you will know is it compatible with your phone because to download stock you have to neter your serial wich tells htc that you have a tmous

lmao, you can tell because the first sentence says "These roms are TMO-US compatible."
Your phone = 1024leo = tmous = TMO-US

you are in the wrong forum. This is the forum for the regular hd2, you need THIS tmous specific section. Go there and read, read some more, then read again. This time next week you will know all you need to know.
The most important thing for you to remember is NEVER NEVER NEVER flash ANY stock rom that is not for the tmous, and NEVER NEVER NEVER flash any radio that has a 51 in the version. Example 2.07.51.x radio will totally destroy your phone. (See the first few posts in the tmous radio thread.)
First off I want to apologize if what I am asking for exists but I have failed to find it.
It needs to be said that i've updated my HD2 with the latest complete update from HTC. I've been trying to get my hspl on by trying to install it but it says that because I have 3.03 it won't work. I need the radio for android since im quite sick of my buggy WM.
My question is: is there a way to install hspl even though you have 3.03? And could somebody point me in the right direction.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
No sir HSPL isn't compatible with SPL 3.03.
But way do you need it? I mean you mention fore change your radio version fore being compatible with Android. But firs of all Android is compatible with Radio 2.15.50.14 (the one who is integrated in stock ROM 3.14.
And secondly stock ROM 3.14 is compatible with Android sir.
Well it seems I was mistaken thanks for the help. Used a different build and the internet worked. But for some reason all my android builds get to the startup screen where I configure the first settings and such and survives through it by like 2 minutes then it gets cancer and dies. And by that I mean it hangs on random things and when I restart android it just goes to a black screen. Guess some people were just not meant to have android on their phones
Your stock ROM is fully compatible with Android. Do not touch anything. Just put on your SD card the Android files and run it. Like me. I've never flashed my HD2 with HSPL - I'm running only original ROMs and with the last one I am having smooth runnig Android OS too. Good luck!

i am just a newbie to all this...i just wanted to update my rom...
my details are:-

ROM-----1.43.206.49703150 WWE
RADIO----2.15.50.14
Just a few days back i flashed my radio to that version...but now i wanted to update my rom version to 3.14.xx
I read the page http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=623283 but can't understand which version to download...is it safe to install..World Wide English (WWE) 3.14.405.2 or Indian: (Asia_India) 3.14.720.3...
even whenever i go to official htc site to download rom..my serial is this HT9BDNW04917 so i got not suitable for your device...as i have buyied this defice from uk and its a o2 unlocked device

First of al some important informations, if you go to install the latest stock ROM 3.14 it's important to remove HSPL first. (use HSPL2_RUN.exe and select a spl value.)
secondly, fore the moment there is no o2 UK 3.14 stock ROM out. so you need to use the GoldCard technique for upgrading your ROM to a 3.14 version.

I would personally recommend just loading HSPL3 and then just selecting on of the roms in the ROM Development section, as they usually integrate the new roms released from other providers with there rom.

It depends sir, even if you use a custom ROM build on stock ROM 3.14 it's recommended to install stock ROM 3.14 before installing this custom ROM's. And like mentioned before, stock ROM 3.14 isn't compatible with HSPL!

Can't i do that using hardspl..cause i have flashed my radio to 2.15..which is too not out yet for my O2 uk model...and this Gold card technique is a lil tough...also i read this..http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8989286&postcount=30

I have the 3.14 ROM with 3.03.000 SPL installed on my HD2
What I`m trying to do is Install NAND Android. But to do this I need HSPL 2.08.
I read through a lot of Forums indicating that this can only be done if you flash an older ROM to phone, hence overwriting the 3.03 SPL.
Tried downloading one of the older stock roms (1.66 and 1.48) and then attemped to flash via SD and through the .exe file directly.
Heres what happened:

From the .exe file it boots to the tri color screen and then reaches the progress bar screen. However it sticks there and the errors out with a code : 294.
At first I thought it could be an incorrect ROM but I doublechecked it.
Through the SD method after the phone detects the .nbh file it comes back with a "28002 : Not allow" error message.
Have tried this with various types of Mem cards but no luck.
I then tried SSPL with 1.66 and 1.48 as the ROM and i got it to flash the ROM with no problems but the HSPL still sticks at 3.03. And thats expected since SSPL is like a one shot go at flashing a ROM different from your region.
Question : Since this isnt working, will a task 29 help in this case? From what I understand it formats the filesystem that holds the OS. By doing so, will I then be able to flash one of the older Roms so I can install HSPL 2.08? Not sure if this will actually help.
Not sure what exactly i`m doing wrong here.

simple, you're using the wrong rom. It isnt just any stock rom, its a stock rom that is correct for your phone you need. so for example if its locked to orange france, you would need the orange FRA rom, if the phone came from o2 uk its the WWE O2 UK rom you need.
dont be confused by a phone that has been sim unlocked, it would still be rom locked.

Just did this yesterday.
All you have to do is check the version installed.
Mine was 3.14.479.2 which is Eastern Europe.
So i downloaded the 1.66.479.2 and flashed.this flashed the 1.48 spl..
So problem solved.
forgot to mention the 3.14 it the rom version.the rest is region specific : in my case 479.2 means eastern europe.This is important.
Fox example i tried to flash WWE:1.66.405.2 (France Bouygues) but no luck. 0% and then error.
same problem - may be we need HSPL for SPL 3.03.0000
I experienced the same problem. may be we need HSPL for 3.03, or it is already available - i dont know....
Can anybody reply / answer / help us all who are having 3.03 and want to run NAND Android on their device ? ? ?

Problem can easily be solved by installing the correct previous stock rom.
For example if you have now the 3.14.405.x stock rom you need to use previous version 1.66.405.x Red numbers need to be the same.

My HD2 is a Orange one, currently on ROM 3.14.61.2 (04666) WWE, and im trying to downgrade it...
however i cant for the life of me find a rom that will work on this phone, i need something like 1.66.61.2
is there an obvious way around this??

Ahh, dont worry i have got it working now!!
look like i had an iffy usb cable which was stopping HSPL4 from connecting correctly.
All sorted and WP7 now running, though after all that i dont think i like it!!!
