[Q] Market application, gmail and data sychronization crashed! - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

i tried rooting my x10 mini last night using the UniversalAndroot and removing some default apps using titanium backup* root..
i forget what apk file i uninstall last night, that caused my Market, gmail and data synchro crashed.
The icons are still in the menu, but i just cant used it. it keeps on forcing to close.
And now i dont have the idea of regaining it.
what i did,was doing the factory reset last night.
When i also forget or dont know how to back up my downloaded applications..like the astro file manager, which is very important tool for me to access my memory card.
But sad to say, after doing the factory reset/hard reset... same issues..cant access the Market.which where i can only download the FILE MANAGER..and some important tools.
PLS guys need your help so bad. I d0nt even have the simplest tool which was the BFT..i also need that.
Why i need the FILE manager? its the only option i know where i can push my apk.file to sd card root and install it manually. without using the MARKET.
NEWBIE here.

Just repair by pc companion.

[Q] Cleanup

hi there i rooted my fone a couple of mins ago using the exploid method (026), it was a great success.., lemme go back to my question.., how can i clean up the apps that i don't need.,
in bin4ry's method (024) on step2 folder there's a file called cleanup.cmd i just have to edit it and run it.., it will remove all the unnecessary apps like the moxiersh*t on my (024) x10i..,
but when i used bin4ry's cleanup.cmd on my (026) is says "mount: operation not permitted"
i know they have different sources, but can somebody help me cleaning up my 026x10i?
any links?
Use titanium backup

Did you use the donate or free version of Titanium Backup? I have installed the free version but i still could not figure out how to delete or uninstall unwanted programs. Care to share how you did it? Thanks

long press the app u want 2 delete
nooo i dont need titanium backup.., what i said is.., the CMD(command) file in the root that can cleanup the apps using the computer not the phone itself..,
Jus use the cleanup file.. don't mount your usb, make sure usb debugging is on n c what happens!
as for titanium backup, there's nothing wrong with it.. does the job!! plus the full version can b used to freeze apps to c how the rest of your phone would react if u had actually uninstalled it!!

hi i still can't delete from titanium(free version).it doesn't give me an option to delete.
and from the cleanup file it tells me rm failed.red-only file system
yet the apps are still there!!(moxier, quadrapop etc.)
am i doing something wrong?
Download busybox of market and c if that confirms your root privileges..
if so then go into titanium n try your luck again

use exploid 1.08, once rooted again, open exploid app again, click unsecure shell, rerun the cleanup cmd. u should now be read/write mounted...

Make sure you edit the cleanup.cmd so it doesn't remove stuff you might need or want to keep.

You just tap the app, as long pressing gives you a different menu.

If I remember correctly, what I did was uninstall it with TB, then using roorexplorer navigate to data/app and remove the apk, then went to app-private and removed it from there too.
thanks man, finally got rid of it!

[Q] Installing apps through an apk, HELP!

Recently when I put APK's on my SD Card and try to install them I receive the 'Application not Installed' error. When this happens with market apps it's easy enough to unmount the SD and remount after the install. However if the APK is on the SD how can I do this?
Is there a fix for this? Also if it helps I'm running the Wildpuzzle ROM and the APK I'm trying to install at the moment is Angry Birds (getjar).
Have you try settings > application and check Unknown application.

Yeah, the application installer shows up, I just receive the error message a few seconds of the scrolling grey progress-style/working bar.
Do you have a USB Cable? Try using "DroidExplorer", an awesome PC client that can directly install apps. Or, try using a File Browser like Root Explorer or Super Manager.
Do you, by chance, have an App2SD Patch? Because I have always found them buggy!
Try to "undo" everything you did up to before it stopped working. Also try formatting your cache partition and/or erasing dalvik cache. Did you do any flashing without making a NANDROID backup first?
Also try "SuperOneClick", there is an option to "Enable Non-Market Apps" for rooted phones.
Second-last resort? Factory reset. Last resort...? Backup all your apps/settings and reflash

Thanks for this. I'm trying Droidexplorer, explorers on the device wont install the apk as it returns the same error.
How long should the installation take. It's been running 15 mins so far, the internal storage has decreased a little but the installing window (on pc) is still up?
I am assuming you have a rooted phone with unrEVOked3 right? Would you happen to have some kind of App2SD patch installed....? Because I always found them unstable.... what firmware are you using? I am loyal to Sunaabh v1.1 (Froyo) Custom Firmware as it is well supported
Hmmm I've encountered that installing loop before. But only when trying to install an APK that wouldn't normally work, such as an older version of the Market or Flash 10.1. It just means it's waiting for ADB server to do something but ADB has obviously crashed. It should not take more than 30 seconds for an APK to install via DroidExplorer. Just unplug your phone and close DroidExplorer.
Does this happen with all APK's? How many have you tried?
Only thing I can think of is that you did something to damage your package.xml data and/or permissions are corrupted.
Did you try formatting your cache partition in Clockworkmod? Please try this, it will not destroy any data. But it will trigger a long reboot - it will appear frozen at the bootup splash screen but just let it go while it rebuilds the cache.
Also try "Clear Data" under Applications > Manage > Market.
Have you flashed anything in clockworkmod? If you can provide more details of exactly what you've done to your phone that might help, but I really doubt it.... I think the only option is to restore from a Nandroid Backup or Reflash Sorry... but these things do happen and we always learn the hard way lol....
You can use the official HTC Sync software to backup your phone numbers and SMS and stuff I believe, and if you want to backup your installed apps you can use Titanium Backup or many other Backup apps on the Market, Free or Paid.
Make into a zip file and flash via recovery

Thanks for everyones help, I now have it sorted!
I started an installation through Droid explorer and then cancelled it when the apk was on the phone.
Then I unmounted my SD
Then I used root explorer to browse to the apk on the phones internal memory
It installed with no worries and I remounted the SD!

Haha, how very odd! Regardless, good to hear you got it sorted
EDIT: If it happens again, maybe you could try to format the SD card. Might be possessed with some bad stuff in the .android_secure folder or something.

hello, i am really really scared about what happened to my phone, i dont know when it happened or how it happened.... i just restarted it, and the apps on my desktop, go green, and i cant click on them, i knew they were on sd card, but the dont', then show any more, i tried to put my backup rom in again after wiping everything, but same problem, i cant even install apps from market, when i click on "free" then the "ok" button doesnt press, and i cant install apps from sd card either. i tried to take out the sd card and putting it back in but nothing. i can go to my sd card thru astro, etc, and browse and everything, just cant install apps. i cant even use the UPDATE SERVICE on the computer, and my computer doesnt detect usb, same with my phone. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME, IM SOO SCARED. i am using 2.2.1, the gingerbread theme.i cant move apps, they keep saying "moving": forever, but never move,
therefore i cant install it, the only way that might work, is the custom.zip, with apps in it.thats what ive been thinking of so far, but how can i make that .zip folder? i got the titaniumbackup, using xrecovery, there was a .zip, and when i go in "partition tools", my cashe is always mounted, even if i unmount, it gets mounted.
thanks.
well..... flash back to original FW with flashtool...... then brick ur phone again... huhu..
@whitezboon - He can't use flashtool cos it won't detect the USB... [I pressed thanks by mistake]
however, there may be another option.. you might be able to get a std 2.1 ROM that you can flash onto the phone using xrecovery.. take the microSD card out of your phone - put the rom on there using your PC and a microSD adapter and voila..
Factory reset
@whitezboon, i cant connect it to computer....
and where can i download the std 2.1 rom from???
use Tool from Bin4ry's and Androxyde to flash ( seek in this forum for it, there r guide to use it), after done restore backup..

is ur main problem accessing SD cards contents form android OS or inability to install apps from market?
3
3 problems, i cant install apps from market, sd card, i also cant connect to computer, but can charge.
i can go thru the sd card with astro, do stuff, when i press install, it keeps installing but never ends. i can download things from internet too. i dont know what happened, it only happens on 2.2/+, otherwise its fine, the only reason i dunt like 2.1 is cuz its really really slow
Sounds like your Sd cards the problem. Try formatting via computer with adapter, then put it back in your phone. Good luck

Yes .., I have rooted it through Gingerbreak.apk app
I had the same problem few days back..Though i had to solve that by formatting my memory card
even thou did some researching and found out the problem is caused by a temporary file called smdl2tmp1.asec that is used during some installations
Solution was to delete that file..
even though i couldnt find that file in my fone so i had to format
that file could be in these two locations :
1)
/sdcard/.android_secure - this is an invisible folder on your SD card, which you can access with any file manager, like ASTRO
2)
/mnt/secure/asec/ - access to this folder requires root and a program like Root Explorer
found that on an external site..
dunno if i could put the link here ??
also i somewhere read it could delete your messages so please create a backup of msgs n contacts..
try restart phone ??
at least work for which happen for me last time
if still exist, unmount sdcard, take out sdcard, put it back and mount again
and restart phone again(wait longer then restart is better)
if still exist, google it for solution
good luck

[Q] Can't install Titanium app at all

Hello, another thread about this glitch.
I am using ordroid 6.1 which has so minor glitches, like for instance the bluetooth will go on whenever i connect the usb cable to my computer! The bluetooth is off all the time but it will go on, does anyone knows about this?
I have been trying for the last 3 hours to install titanium backup to gain my backup apps, but i have no luck so far.
I read in this website that you need to go using apps called root explorer or ES Explorer to find a file titanium.opk and delete it. I have been using booth apps and i cant find tle damm file at all.
The phone is rooted, i checked using root check and the phone is rooted.
I dont know what going on, can someone help me out here?
Thanks a lot!

First you cqn use QtADB on your PC (or just mount your sd) to search for the file.If you cannot find it try installing Titanium Backup as a system app. You can do that by pushing it via adb or just copy/paste in /system/app

Is there a thread where i can see this? I am very new with this kind of stuff.
Thanks either way
The actual file you're looking for is com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup.odex in /data/app
Just delete and you should be fine. You can use Solid Explorer or Root Explorer, bot can be obtained from the market.
