Hi,
I found this over in the Nexus One forum.
This is an modified youtube app that let's you download and save your video's to your sdcard.
Install though astro.
You will have 2 youtube apps now.
The rolle icon appears on the new youtube.
Use the éclair version for the vibrant.
Tip: Your saved videos are named as .mpg in the youtube folder.
Just change them to .mp4 and they now show up in the gallery.
Known Bugs:
This does not work through the web browser.
Search and save your youtube videos through the modded app only.
Here is the original post.

This is a great app. Maybe some idea to make a option to download them to .mp3 format?
That would be great

Cant find anything using the search, sorry if there is already something.
When I upload video to youtube from the phone it is fine. As soon as I edit the video in Video Maker and upload it, it squashes it at the sides.
see example here..

use video converters found in this thread and use it to resize:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1263350
the thread is for different purpose (ignore that). use the softwares.
I had the same problem, I had to add yt:stretch=16:9 to the videos tags on youtube. It stretches it out but still gives a screwy preview image.
I found that this problem only occurs when exporting the video on 1280720. All other resolutions are fine. Hopefully Samsung will fix this problem.
Just tested with latest samsung firmware (2.3.4). Problem is still there, your fixes still work. I will use the 720x480 res fix.
Thanks.

Hi all,
I love watching YouTube HD videos on the Galaxy Tab 10.1 but have a WiFi only model and when not at home I have no way of watching them :-( Can anyone suggest an app that will allow me to copy\save them in HD to the tab? I downloaded BestTube last night but it looks like it's designed for phones only as when I play back the video it's tiny and there is no way to make it full screen....
Cheers,
M

Re: Download Youtube videos
Download the Program Ultraget Video (Free).
After this go to YouTube.com and Click in your favorite Video Clip.
Highlight the URL and right click the mouse and select "copy".
Enter To the Program Ultraget Video, And Click in "IMPORT VIDEO" and paste your link of YouTube in the box there and click on "OK".
Wait for a few seconds and a Download (FLV Format) message will appear.
After you download the video, you need a special Player to play youtube videos.
This is because the file is in .FLV and other formats.
whats the best app to convert youtube mp3s then download them directly to your phone?
TUBEMATE for android I got it off some thread. Just google search Tubemate.apk

Its on the amazon app store.
Its not an app but copy YouTube link and go to "YouTube-mp3. Org" and replace the YouTube link already there , click on the first tab below the bar and then download. Works for me on phone and PC.

You could also use YTmp3.com and all you have to do is to go to the website, copy the youtube url and hit convert. The major advantage of this online youtube converter is that it has no limit and convert anything in less than 5 seconds. Try it out
