hey, i'm actually a touchpro2/rhodium owner, but i live in Japan and use softbank. softbank really sucks about updating previous customers with newer software for x-series phones (non-existent updates). so i'd like to know if any X02T owner has been able to get a rip of the ROM? what i really want is to extract the softbank mail files and updated keytouch sip software. anyone out there that can help?

Forum user MikeyCollins has had his XDA2 reflashed by O2 with UK ROM version 1.66.
This is newer that any official user available O2 UK ROM, as the latest build on the UK site/for UK customers is 1.60.50
This new ROM, at very early inspection, features a ClearType tuner much like some IPAQ's have etc.
What he wants to know, and I do too, given that I would like to install it, is how do you 'reverse engineer', if at all, the ROM, so that he can copy it from his phone, to PC, so this can be tried out by others?
Can it be done? Do any of you clever chaps know how?

but if the file you end up with on your pc is really nbf i'm not sure
maybe somebody else knows

Hi
I think I need to upgrade my XDAII ROM to allow for fax software.
I currently have v1.60.00WWE and gather that this can be upgraded to
either v1.72.181 or v1.72.187.
But which one? I do occassionally use the XDAII for emailing via GPRS so does this alone mean I need v1.72.187?
Secondly, during the upgrade will the device settings (connections, modem, network etc) get wiped-out?
Also what's all this about ExtROM? Please tell me that I don't have to spend another evening on this topic and it's either catered for in the upgrade or I don't need to know about it for XDA general use
TIA
Rob
Is there any one out there who is able to help me?
I have an german MDA II from T-Mobile (an Himalaya ?).
So, what is/are the actual updates for this device?
I found an older update T-Mobile 1.66
then a newer one to 1.72
and in the forum updates to WM2003 SE and that ever...
What I need is:
sync with outlook over BlueTooth,
BT for headset(that makes trouble) and my gps,
Word and Excel (Turn Screen in SE?) .
Best regards
HiTec
If you just want to be sure to have it stable, supported (warranty) & working: Go with a specific T-Mobile (GER) 1.72 version.
Should be on their website.
I fyou want to experiment (and get landscape): Have fun and get all SE versions and decide which one you like.
I have MDA II Rom version 1.60( ger )
I want to update to english rom i found in t-mobile v1.72 but i didn't try yet i think it's german language
can any body help plz to get english rom ?
Thanks
I upgrade my Dopod566 (Hurricane) with T-mobile SDA software, but I didn't like it, so I reflash the system to Dopod566. The problem is there's T-Mobile splash in the starting, and I didn't like it.
So would anyone tell me how to get rid of the T-mobile splash from my Smartphone? Many thanks!
I have the t-mobile sda2 and i also dislike the screens, but what i did manage was to find 'RJV RegTweaks UI', this is a real simple regtweaker only for a few settings. It did manage to change part of my shutdown screenS, but my startupscreen(s) remain the same. Since you're original is a different phone, maybe you can search the registry (be carefull not to erase anything, stay alert, hype on caffeine or something what works 4u) for t-mobile startup/shutdown screens. It should be easy to find?
But i've added the regtweaker, not a regeditor, i don't have it here at work.
Dopod566 you say?? Do you have any screenshots? And how stable is it? I haven't heard of this rom before... And maybe you've read my other post... I want another rom, more stable rom
Let us know if you succeeded in getting the screens to bugger off, it is valuable information
Dopod566 is the one version of Hurricane sold in Chinese. The stability can be accepted, but can only display Chinese and English can in this version. Actually, I'm finding 2005 version.

So, let me see if i understand you correctly...
This rom you have is standard in chinese and can be set to english? Or is it english and can be set to chinese? If the last is true, i'd like the rom, i think, because my chinese isn't so great
And have you found a wm2005 version? Or are you searching for one?
Because i definately need to update my rom, but can't find any suitable roms for my hurricane. Only the SDA 2 and a .nbf for an 'orange' c550, but i don't know how to flash my phone with a .nbf file yet...
Hi there,
What is the difference between the two and how do I tell which one I have?
Also, being new to smart phones and ROMS and stuff, what is the most popular ROM at the moment? Is it this one, because it was the one I was thinking of loading: "[ROM][ENG] TG01/T01A Debranded UK + Manila Sense 2.5 v0.002 (03/04/2010) New T01A!!!"
Thanks.
You should buy TG01.
T01A is the japanese version of TG01 with the docomo brand (a biggest telecom company in japan)
Now,T01A can flash to english language however T01A hasn't been unlocked by code.so if you don't live in japan, you can't use this device without hypersim...
You can check it by looking a label on the phone (under the battery).
