Nexus one rom building/ customization

I wanted to know are there any developers who is willing to teach me the basics of rom building along with the code associated with it and guide me in the creation and/or modification of my own rom. If so contact me or comment here with tutorials.
Thank you in advance.

You have two options and they are both mentioned in the stickies right above you..
1) Build one from scratch from AOSP source
2) Build one from an existing ROM

Also, if you really want to get deep, look at the Android Google Groups. Much of it is way over my head, but either I'm getting taller or it's getting shorter every day...

[DEV] I need a ramdisk/kernel dev... please?? :)

Hi, this is a quick shout-out to a kernel dev that wouldn't mind helping me out...
It was 50/50 for this section or Q&A so don't give me grief, the mods will move it if it's absolutely necessary.
I need some assistance modifying a Nexus kernel ramdisk and I just don't have the tools/skills necessary at the moment. I (think I) know what needs to be changed and it's minor, I just can't pull the source back together and test it quickly/properly.
If you're willing to help, yell out, I (think I) have the edits necessary so hopefully it shouldn't be too painful...
Please?
i am here, what do you need?
can we talk on gtalk ?

Please check my thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1511747 as I have figure out an alternate... and easier method to get the same thing done. I have also figured out how to set the default OS that the TP would choose while booting up after the UImage has been deleted.
To the OP, I am not trying to hijack your guide and thread. I think this guide is very helpful. I mean no disrespect to you and the time you spent creating the video guide. I am just presenting a new and different method as well as a step that I think you did not go over in the video.
Thank you.
