I managed to root my mini pro. However, I tried to debrand it and the phone stopped functioning. The touchscreen will not respond (thus, it is stuck on the "Select language" page. I've noticed that the 2 big files in the Sony Update Service that was supposed to replaced, disappeared. Leading me to conclude that those files are deleted from the mini pro.
However, PC companion, PC suite does not seem to be able to fix/recognize the phone. I've spent over 4hrs searching and attempting to fix this to no avail. Please help.
Long shot here mate, but worth a try..
Hold Home key and the power key from a cold restart. See if it resets to default again..
Good luck I feel your pain!

Try with "Update Service":you can download it from sony website...
Update Service will help, I also rooted my X10mini, after that I removed some apps and after reboot the device was frozen on bootanimation with no respond. I was recomended to use Update Service and it worked. It "reinstalled" whole device SW.
I had the same problem et I tried to solve it with SEUS but this software told me that my version is the last one and dont want to repare or install another one one my mini..(I can't see any button "repare" !)
Anyone have an idea ?
sorry for my poor english
Thanks for your suggestions. However, I managed to fix it using the Davinciteam software.

Without phone connected:
Open PC-Companion and press Start under Support zone. Then press start under Update (My version is Swedish so i am just guessing what yours might be.) You will get a small box where the options are Connect and Repair.
Try that.
No, I have an error like "sorry, we cant update your phone cant be recognized"
I already tried with software like omnius, seus, pc compagnon, sin reconstruction, an utility of root by Mogway where there is an button to repare some errors. Davinci software doesn't support x10 in the free version.
I'll go on to find a solution, tks for your help

But IS there a repairbutton ? I am wondering because otherwise you might not have the latest version of PC-Companion or something? Also , when doing repair i don't think it even checks what your phone is. You have to select it from a menu that pops up.
Yes, there is a button and i tried all the software in there last version.
When I press the button "repair", I see that the program load "update prtocol" or something like that (update service ?), then It's start the update and 2sec after an error appear in a box "We can't access to mobile phone" or smthg like that.
Apparently, no communication can be done in PC compagnon.
My drivers are ok, seus apparently recognize my phone (if he told me that I have the last version and tell me that he see my phone)
A little weird huh
Under pc compagnon there is a repare button yes.
The error appear to the point "update motor boot" (démarrage du moteur de mise à jour in french)
I dont find solution yet

I also have some problem like you.. Can you give the explanation and tools (Davinciteam software) to fix it.. 'Cause i hopeless to fix it until i read this.
Use the latest Omnius, it supports x10 mini and mini pro flashing
oh sh... I paid to fix it and now there is a free solution, the world is really nasty
Well, if anyone can't fix it with Omnius, I can give some advice for DaVinci, but I really hope that I'll be the last one to use this soft (despite his efficacity).
I hope you unterstood me
what do u use to convert your firmware to work with omnius??
I have the same problem, stuck on "Sony Ericsson" screen at startup. I tried SEUS and PC Companion to no avail. How can I get Omnius, i cant seem to download it anywhere.

You dont need to convert them..
Just zip up the following files for the App.zip and make sure the naming convention is as below:
crashlog_S1-SW-LIVE-3EDC-0001-S1-PARTITION.sin
amss_S1-SW-LIVE-3EDC-0001-S1-PARTITION.sin
fota0_S1-SW-LIVE-3EDC-0001-S1-PARTITION.sin
fota1_S1-SW-LIVE-3EDC-0001-S1-PARTITION.sin
kernel_S1-SW-LIVE-3EDC-0001-S1-PARTITION.sin
cache_S1-SW-LIVE-3EDC-0001-S1-PARTITION-WITH-SPARE.sin
And the same again for the following files for the FSP.zip:
amss_fs_robyn_BC18_S1-SW-LIVE-3EDC-0001-S1-PARTITION.sin
userdata_S1-SW-LIVE-3EDC-0001-S1-PARTITION-WITH-SPARE.sin
system_S1-SW-LIVE-3EDC-0001-S1-PARTITION-WITH-SPARE.sin
update.xml
simlock.ta
Or alternatively download the firmware from Omnius website.

Hi all, I recently rooted my x10 mini pro to use barnacle wifi tethering and titanium back to remove some unwanted software. I tried to use PC companion to repair the software and remove root in order to download to new update but i get download error from pc companion. I have tried to use omnius to flash the phone but i dont know where to get the generic x10 mini software from . U20i I believe it is.
Can anyone help me with this problem either to resolve it using pc companion or tell me were i can get the u20 i software to flash with omnius. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated cos as it stands I would not even be able to upgrade to 2.1 when its released. Thanks.
I have an rooted X10 mini pro and wanted the new update but had no succes trying to update from the phone.
I used Titanium to do a complete backup and then SE update service wich had no problem to get me down to original state.
Then run the update from the phone again and now it worked like a charm.
And the "x10root" works perfectly even after the update.

I tried to use SE update service too to get back to original state but that too just says my phone s up to date and gives no option to install the software anyway only to exit the program. Some people use pc companion or SE update service to restore their phone after rooting but neither are working for me. I used the exploid method to root like most people so i dont know why i cant restore my phone software using the same SE update software that every one else uses. Really frustrating.
Hey guys,i got an x10i, wit 1.6 firmware and wanted to update to 2.1. I saw the option of update in the phone menu,so i tried it and it actually found update and downloaded it.but after the restart i got exclamation mark and no boot.the phone has no warranty so can i fix it my self?

Reconnect the phone to SEUS and run " repair " option, should reflash the phone.
Try taking the battery out first and let the phone set a bit, reinstall batt and see if she boots up, remember, 1st boot takes a few minutes after you flash new firm ware.....
Best regards,
Chris
I took the battery out long time ago.havent tried yet.One more wuestion.is there a recovery built in?or a factory reset?and how to fo this if i neef to.
Thanks a lot

Depends on where and how you upgraded to new firmware, if it was thru seus / pc companion, then you just have factory firmware, no recovery.
If you used the flash tool from XDA and picked the firmware on that page, and installed xrecovery, then yes you have it. Clear as mud, sorry.
IF you have to run the seus pc companion to " repair " the phone, you will have only factory sony firmware. You can search for the firm ware # and flash tool , instructions, root methods, xrecovery, all are on xda!
Hope this helps,
Chris
As i said i used the phone menu for this update. No seus,no pc companion, just update through the phone menu and wireless network.
i downloaded seus and and it sais:
Failed checking application versions, please reinstall the application and make sure you have the latest version
what is this now?
Any link for the right one?
Thanks again
try the repair option on seus, comes up when u first connect the phone to pc companion,

Okay someone told me to update from 1.6 via computer data cable to 2.1 but my question is where do i go and how do i do it ...don't want anything custom just want the update no rooting nothing like that ....
Are you using an AT&T X10? If so, you won't be able to update Android 1.6 to 2.1 via Sony Ericsson's update utilities.
One of your best bets is to use this guide to get your phone to the Sony Ericsson generic global Android 2.1 update:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12468381&postcount=1
It only takes about ten minutes and works great.
plug in your phone, go to 'My Computer' and it will show the Sonyericsson logo as a drive, just double click it, it will install SEUS(Sonyericsson update software) its already on your phone. once its installed, just select 'update software' it will guide you step-by-step

Hi, I recently got a x10 mini and in a rush to gain root etc.. I accidently flashed U20i-mini pro update_1.0_2.1.1.C.0.0tft and now can't flash any x10 mini firmwares of which I have tried 3 different tft files and even tried bundle creation under advanced settings in FlashTool_0.2.9.1_ and none of these are working.
I've done a bit of searching and the general consenus seems to be just use SEUS and it will all be o.k but it just says there is no software update for my phone
The other weird thing is that I can seem to be able to flash other mini pro firmwares with no problem which boot up fine but I am unable to use the touchsreen so can't access features such as enabling USB settings and unknown sources
Any help anyone could advise I would be very grateful!
Ok man, dont be afraid, try to do this:
1st - Open PC Companion
2nd - Select Support Zone
3rd - Start Phone Update
4th - Select "repair phone"
5th -follow instructions.
Here is a video I did showing what do to:

Thanks for the reply I have tried what you have suggested but it also doesn't work it gives the same result as SEUS and PC Companion that software is up to date and the only option is to exit program?

This is weird. My SEUS still allows me to install the firmware even if the phone is up to date...
I remember there is a restore button in the program...
You can try that way if you have the recovery installed and you can access to it :
plug in your phone
open pc companion,
access to ClockworkMod (the recevory program on your phone)
go to mount and storage and select mount usb storage
now come back to pc copanion, click on support zone, start phone update, select repair, and wait for 30 minutes.
Unfortunately I didn't get as far as gaining root as I can't use the touchscreen.
I even managed to flash a 1.6 version of the experia mini pro via flashtool but it stills says that my software is up to date and again only option it gives is too exit program??
Just can't really understand why it will flash mini pro firmwares but refuses mini firmwares with Flashing loader. Error.Flashing aborted.
I also notice that the main diffrences between mini pro and min firmwares is the inclusion of dsp1.sin in the mini tft files, could this have something to do with it?
