Download a free gallery app from the market and see if your pictures show up with that. If not you can always access them with a file manager like Linda Manager. The pictures should be in /sdcard/DCIM/100 Media.

unless u wipe ext as well (assuming ur on app2sd)

I know that when you have apps2sd on a 2.1 Rom and then flash to a froyo one, it'll tell you to reformat your SD to fat32 with no partitions. You said you didn't have apps2sd tho, so that's kinda troubling. When you mount your phone to your computer does the SD come up?

ive mentioned this on another thread but this has happened to my eris once a few weeks ago and twice on an old samsung non android about a year ago and if it gets deleted either a.) an application wrote over it (?) or 1 of 2 things a verizon employee told me that it could be the sd card getting too hot that it wipes it or theres a short in a power cord somewhere that could have caused it thats why i sync pix to my computer every time i use it lol

ok thats just great FML

The simple answer is yes, just take it out of the Eris and put it in the D2, but a question: Did you ever repartition your SD card? If you don't know what that is then most likely not. If you did it would keep your card from working with the D2 as is, but nothing would actually be lost or damaged.
Also if u ever made any backups on your Eris make sure to delete those as im not farmiliar with how cloxkwork works on the locked bootloader of the X, and D2, if they are able to restore backups you certainly wouldn't want to restore one from the Eris. The only reason im not sure is I've been in the incredible and fascinate forums for the past few months and haven't paid attention to DX/D2 development although im actually browsing around as we speak.

32gb class 10 card format via pc or Evo3d

In the past I've been formatting any card via my pc prior to putting it in my phone. But being the 3d is dual core and the card being class 10 I was wondering if it was best to do it in the phone or does it really matter?
Or does it even need to be formatted at all?
You can just put it in the phone and it will format it automatically for you, unless you need to copy over the contents of your old card to it, then you can format it on your PC and then copy the data over to it.

Thanks. I will let the phone do the formatting then. I was just under assumption that formatting through pc would be better for it.

Oh man I saw this too late. I've already copied over 29gb of stuff from my old card to this new one. Dang it. It took about an hour an half which isn't too bad but I have to think it over if I wanna redo this. Anyway I will keep that file handy incase I see some issue with the card that might require reformatting.
How does this differ from default PC formatting?

First of all, does MTP not work for you? Secondly, Easy UMS should work as well -- what is the error you are getting?
No, it doesn't work at all... when I try to transfer a folder with the saves in it to either the internal or external sd card it says 'cannot copy "..." the device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected. And when I tried to use easy ums it's would do one of two things, either it would kinda work (I could browse my ext sd card but it only showed the folders, not the files in them) or it would say something like 'cannot detect sd card. Maybe busy box isn't installed.?' I know for a fact that busy box is installed I actually did that earlier today after rooting my S3 of course.. lol what should I do? Maybe I'm using the easy ums in an incorrect way?

Sorry chaps what is this app called?
I`m also having issues with my GT-I9300. I have tried SGS# easy UMS, but get message about "Device not rooted" I`m not familiar with rooting. Please can someone suggest how I go about doing this. I need to sync certain apps using mass USB.
I migrated to Android from windows mobile & not familiar with these syncing terms. I have managed to sync with Kies & Companion link software, but unable to sync with E Wallet.
Thanks

Miscellaneous storage?

Hey guys new to the note 2 forum. I recently rooted and unlocked my device thanks ti CASUAL and have been looking into ways of clearing bloatware.. I have cleared quite a bit thru titanium BU but when I go into storage under settings its saying miscellaneous files 10.11gb.. when I click on it.. it on shows 5.77gb.. anybody know the issue? Is that just software on my phone that it needs.. an excess of 5gb or so..

Look at my thread "How much free storage should I have?"
I goofed and put my backups on sd0card instead of extsdcard.
You too?
Nice! I just had them bu in the internal instead of external so I simply just moved them..? does the internal sd card get wiped when you wipe everything to go to new ROM bc if thats the case all twrp files should be on the external.. right?
EDIT: nevermind figured everything out thank you for help.. I flashed parandroid 3+ but wasnt really a fan I just the phone 2 weeks ago and I am kinda digging the touchwiz interface... and lightsaber sounds I just put on the phone for the s pen:thumbup::thumbup:

[Q] Couple of dumb questions. NOT URGENT.

Hey, so I have a few dumb questions.
1: I deleted my SD card shortcut that was in my freshly formatted internal storage when I got the phone. I want it back and no file manager can help me. I only want it because some apps (like Dolphin browser, for the downloads directory) won't let me select the external SD. Any way to get it back other then a format of the internal SD? Would that work even?
2: Why the heck is the EFS so dang fragile? And why does this phone have it able to get messed up!? None of my other phones have ever had this, and I've worked with the Samsung Intercept (OMG THAT HORROR), the LG Optimus V, the HTC Sensation 4G, my brother hasn't seen this on his Nexus 4 even. I see so many people posting "HALP, EFS MESSED UP WITH NO BACKUP!!!" and I'm just scared to death of mine messing up, so I have backups on my computer, my phone, my sisters phone!!! Lol.
3: I don't need to do it now, but in the future I might. How do we swap how the the external and internal memory is seen? According to many sites we need to "Open the file manager that you have installed on your Android device and browse to the location “/system/etc” and you will find a file named “vold.fstab”" only that file doesn't exist in my /system/etc folder in Beanstalk. So I'm curious if maybe the OG has a different method of doing this?
Thanks for those willing to take the time to answer my 3 dumb questions.
On 3...maybe I misread this but are you asking about moving anything you download from the web to sdcard instead of int. storage ? If that's the case, download xposed framework and get diwnload2sd. It allows you to change the downloads directory..hope that helps

Thanks for replying.
No, there is supposed to be a way to make the phone mount the SD as internal storage and vice versa. In the future I may want to do that if I get a fast, large, SD card. But when I look into the proper folder the file I'm supposed to edit isn't there. :-\
There are certainly other ways to use the SD instead of internal, like the one you mentioned or another exposed module that sets the camera to use the SD instead of internal. And then there's the app I bought "FolderMount" which is great as well. It's certainly not devastating to not be able to swap how the phone mounts the memory, but it would be cleaner if I could.
Again, thanks for replying!

I've never has problems with the SD, I just point my file manager yo /storage/sdcard1 whereas internal storage is /storage/emulated/0.
Also, I've only ever had an issue with my EFS getting messed up once, and that was back on 4.2.2 before development got stabilised with gee/geeb.

Mostly operator error.
Otherwise, the only thing that could cause this is confusion regarding which recovery to use. TWRP has always worked for me.

So the recovery could mess it up?
I personally like Philz Touch. In fact, there's an update right now! But I have my efs.zip in case anything goes wrong!

That's the only thing I'm aware of that would have write access to the efs partition.
Ive never used philz recovery, but earlier versions of CWM for the OG didn't even check the updater script, so you could Very easily flash something that could damage the phone.
Yikes!
