I am using Sony xperia x10 mini, android device. and i am an android
developer.
I am planning build keyboard/input app for Indian languages for the
android.
By default, android doesn't render Indian text.
I started with little R&D. I replaced DranSansFallback.ttf with a font
having Indian glyphs.
This worked but there is rendering is not perfect.
Indian languages are complex combination of vowels and consonants. And
it fails to render correctly.
For example:
"ಕ ನ್ನ ಡ" is rendered as "ಕ ನ್ ನ ಡ".
It is readable but it should be "ಕನ್ನಡ"
I am not sure why this is happening.

Yes, there is a problem with Android rendering. We need to make some changees in framework-res.apk (source) like how Arabic team did it. I'm not sure whether it will work for us or not but I'm just guessing it . If you are an android developer then you can do it . I'm looking for Android Developer, if you are interested in contribute something then let me know .

In its sub-forum, someone posted a dunp of the latest firmware with indian fonts

Download the dump, and you can use Magiciso to browse the rfs files(factoryfs.rfs is /system)
How about using WebView for Indian fonts? Whether that would do any good in your case?

I have MiniCM7-2.1.8 on my X10 mini pro, and now I am stuck finding the correct way to enable the QWERTZ keyboard layout for the Standard and Android input method including the special German characters.
slade87's thread gives some (although quite confusing) info, but the files for download are not working any more, because they are based on the old update-script-style not supported by CWM any more.
It should not be that hard to perform such an important localization, most solutions only manipulate the keyprint.xml, but that's not enough.
So can someone please explain how to get fully localized QWERTZ keyboards for the German language up and running?

Ok, switched to QWERTZ using ROM Manager, but as I already knew, this only switched it for the Standard Input, but not the Android Input.
I have seen in slade87's thread, what has to be done, to switch the Android Input, but I don't know how, since the downloads in slade87's thread do not work any more with recent CWM, and I really do not want to fiddle around in the ROM manually.
Any suggestions, or do just have to forget about the Android Input?
I´m going to "fix" my dad´s phone tomorrow so stand by until then..

i found a fix!
use attached files and override old files using root explorer.
IMPORTANT: don´t forget to set correct permission for the files or your buttons will not work anymore.

Good afternoon. I already installed you corsica software in my phone but I did not have much time to test and I returned to the Samsung's baseline S5312B. Now I have two versions of virtual machines with VMware and my purpose is to test the corsica software of this web site. I have a machine (VM) in cyanogan mode (core Tiny Linux 3.0) and tried flashing the zip but it didn't work. I have another VM installed thru Android's standard iso, version 4.2 but I have not been able to simulate the CWM mode to flash the zip. The other option is AVD, it could be workss but perhaps it's not a good idea due AVD it's too slow.
Please can you convert the zip image into a bootable iso file or could you tell me how make this conversion? I Would love to try the software and all its peculiarities. Thank you.

Font problems

Is there a way to make the fonts a little more sharper?
On the stock ROM there was a option in Settings -> Display, named "Increase legibility", with made the fonts much less blurrier and easy on the eyes.
On the CM ROM I found no such option, and also searching on the forums and on the Google I couldn't find anything about it
That is a pity, because I liked very much this ROM but the fuzzy fonts make my eyes very weary quickly.

Installed the ROM everything went smooth and everything worked except the network the phone was network locked and asked for an unlock code ... Nice work and I really appreciate it Is the network problem only on my end or is there a problem with the ROM? If its on my end how do I fix it ? Thank you in advance.

Ok first thanks for the rom, it runs smoothly and all.
At first I didn't find any bugs, but it seems like I've just stumbled across a big one... there's no incoming audio on vider or skype and maybe other apps too. Mic does work however, so you don't hear anything. Any way to solve this? Thanks
