gallery 2.0 apk? - Vibrant Themes and Apps

tried searching for it. not the 3d version the one with the green/blue icon that will sort by camera shots, albums and folders. i think it was on the incredible and the evo. i have it on the evo with 2.2 so i guess it is the gallery apk from 2.2?

Sorry, this will not work because you need the EVO version of android to be able to run this. Its called Sense UI and it runs through the entire OS, not just the APK. Im sure it could be ported to run on the vibrant but as of now, its not gonna happen any time soon.

Replacement Photo Gallery?

Hey folkes, I searched the forum on this and I could not find anything to help me.
Was wondering if it is possible to replace the Nexus Gallery that is in the KaosFroyo build with the stock photo gallery. To be honest the Nexus Gallery runs slow on the Eris and I hate having to wait forever for it to laod up when I want to show someone a picture.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
ive been using the gallery extracted from the white widow 4.6 rom on kaos froyo ,i installed that gallery 1st then deleted the gallery3d using root explorer with no problems. that gallery runs awesome,it is listed as ww optional installations in the zip file.

Gallery
I tried to install the 2d gallery into Kaosfroyo, but didn't have any have luck getting it installed, and up and going. I did notice that after the 3d gallery finished indexing all the photos it did get a lot quicker. I would like to keep thing simple though just for the sake of ease of use.

[APP] Gallery3D - Working

I found this in the Desire Z forums and tried it out.

So far so good. Found all my pics and the camera button is even linked to the HTC camera, so it can easily replace the Sense App.
Hope this helps someone.
Works awesome, takes a sec to load pictures but everything is fully funtional. I don't really like the htc gallery. The only thing that sucks is that the camera takes you back to the htc gallery if you hit the gallery button on the camera app.

Any chance this gallery links to your picasa albums? I have some albums that I enjoy pulling wallpapers from, but Sense gallery doesn not pull them into the phone.

It sure does.
sweet, I know what I'll be getting after perma-root gets working.
Man this is the first time I've seen the 3D gallery move this quickly. I liked the look of it on the Hero, but it was slow to load.
After the initial load up there is no hesitation on the Shift.
This isn't going to make my phone go nuts, is it?
When i had a Moment, if the stock gallery and the 3D gallery were even installed at the same time, not running, it would make the phone slow down like crazy.

You don't need root. Just install the .apk like any other app.

My Shift is running just fine with it and stock gallery. But my Moment didn't have problems when both were installed either.
It's not only about the slowness but the 3d gallery is very unstable even when it comes as stock on many phones if not all the thumbnail cache is a pain in the butt... deleting caches with Astro to rebuild then use it a few days then again black squares as thumbnails.. Nah! I rather use the stock sense gallery works great!

I had those problems on my Moment but not on the Shift. It is slow to load the thumbnails for the first time but when you've got 20GBs of photos on Picasa that you'd like ready mobile access to it's the way to go. I'm actually really impressed with it. The only problem is that it keeps asking me for permission to sync with a gmail that I've already turned the sync off to and that I've already denied access to.

[Q] New Gallery for photos? I searched to no avail...

Has anyone been able to port a different gallery app? For instance the 3D one (don't know what it is called). The stock picture viewer is slow to render and a bit bothersome...
Google Gallery apk: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=887425&highlight=gallery
And another one that quite a few people like, QuickPic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=866827&highlight=gallery
The 3D gallery is available on www.sdx-developers.com under the Samsung Moment downloads. It works great on the NC.

Thanks, but Quickpic only looks at the SD card. Any way to make it look elsewhere?
Seems the same with Google Gallery. Will anything work?
Thanks,
kev
I love the cool iris gallery but it only shows the SDcard as well, which makes me mad
Has anyone tried JustPictures on their NookColor? I use this on my DInc for pics and love it. I am getting a NC on Friday and am hoping to be able to set my photos up the same on both devices this weekend.
Me too. Stock gallery is crap, for sure.
I tried installing google gallery and it wouldn't let me, I'm on 1.0.1 rooted
I use a modified 3D gallery for the Samsung Moment (actually modified for the Spica) ... camera button removed, solid black background, and no flickering thumbnail artifacts.
I've attached it for you!

[Q] Camera linked to 3D Gallery

Hi, i have a htc panache that i rooted and flashed with virtuous unity rom with gingerbread 2.3.4 and sense 3.0. I installed a new gallery called 3D Gallery and i got rid of the stock gallery app. But here's the probem. If i open the camera, there is an icon in the corner showing the last picture taken an if i tap on it, it is supposed to redirect me to the gallery. When i tap on that icon, it does nothing. If i take a picture, it will show me that last picture taken but if i tap on it, it does nothing. is there a way to link the camera to 3D gallery so that icon/button would work? You can reply to that post and i would also appreciate an email at [email protected] if you can. Thanks in advance for your help. Also, for the people trying to root the htc panache. I tryed a few months ago, it didnt work and recently it worked. There is 2 possibilities. Maybe because mytouch 4g got the new gingerbread and had the same problem than the panache so the rooting tutorial was updated or i was just miss-naming a file while using adb but anyway, follow that thread and you'll succeed at 100% http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16858971&postcount=98

[Q] Did the YouTube update break 3D playback?

I just updated the YouTube app to the 4.1.23 version, and I absolutely HATE the new UI. Granted, I figured I might as well live with it.... until I decided to try a 3D video and found that it won't play in 3D either.
Is this a setting you have to enable or did the update remove 3D playback as well as set the UI back several decades?
If so, how do I downgrade to the previous version? I am not entirely sure what version number the previous version even was. Is there any trustworthy place I can get the APK for that?
3D works just fine for me on the latest update.

if there was YouTube app in your Rom, you can go to manage apps and uninstall the YouTube update.
Strange, all 3D videos are only playing side-by-side for me, I don't see any options anywhere for 3D mode.

Will that uninstall the latest update, or all updates?
Try restarting your phone because its well known that when 3D doesnt work in Gallery or anywhere else a restart normally fixes that.
Just tried watching this clip on my Evo 3D and it works just fine.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FSGfN9rr78Q
I tried several restarts. All my 3D photos, videos, and games still run fine, but trying to play 3D video on the new youtube app just puts the videos side-by-side instead of in 3D mode.
What ROM are you running?
Stock Gingerbread
I've been meaning to upgrade to a rooted version of stock ICS but haven't gotten around to it, mainly figuring out what id have to do.
Does the same for me. Everything is side by side. Stock 3vo
