I have the same problem, it does not update any friend status, but only notifies new messages and new picture uploads from friends. It happened 2 days ago, before it was normal...

I am getting a lot of people here in Taiwan having the same problems as well...so it might be facebook or timescape bug...maybe facebook changed something and it affected it...

If that is the issue we need to get a minor software update to fix this bug, cause we cant stay like that until 2.1 comes out!

I totally agree, but I don't think they are gonna fix it right away. Most likely gonna wait until September comes around and implemented into the 2.1 upgrade.

Well they have to! they just launched this phone on AT&T. If people finds out that timescape is not working they will return their phones. That is the phone best selling point

I'm just as frustrated as you...I had this phone since April for 4 months now, it has been great...I've also upgraded the firmware as well. This is actually the first problem that I encountered...
I really hope that this is all Facebook's problem...or else SE really need to do something about it, FAST!
I just realize that everyone is facing the same problem, i though i am the only one facing this problem.....hope to fix it soon.
Sony has already acknowledged the issue, sent a message on twitter saying their working with facebook to solve it...

I have bought my u20i about a month ago because I thought I wouldn't have to wait long for the android update... and now look...
SE HAVE DELAYED 2.1 FOR A MONTH, I AM RAGING
Which brings me onto my request, can someone please get in touch with a developer to attempt to crack the bootloader and give us 2.2 (because i'm sure SE will never unlock it for us, thats for sure).
and the final thing is my question, i have noticed that roadsync keeps loading itself up every 5 seconds after I kill the task. Is there a way i could stop this? (yes I know I could remove the app as I have root but I have heard that it can cause pc companion not to download updates - stupid SE)
so yeah any help out there?

Updates should be fine, I've moved forward on very stripped firmware multiple times and you can always make a backup. There seems to be an issue going back in revisions via pc companion, though I don't suspect it's related to roadsync.

Im on rogers x10a and did the global fw 2.1 update and other than setting apn manually, its great.
The only other function i miss from 1.6 was hanging up the phone call with the power button.

Yeah, I have no issues and I didn't even have to manually reset the APN.
The hardest part was rooting (simply due to the process) and restoring some apps. I have no bugs - though the phone isn't exactly light years better either. I'ld call the improvements minor.
First I had the java issue and fixed it. Then it just hung mid-flash. annoying so ill just wait

Nor will there be any source code whatsoever released (which means CM9 won't be progressing from its current alpha build status, also ever).

software update used to work on a stock phone, before i upgraded to xxki4...
just used to say nothing was available... but it still worked

release 6a is now available and it is supposed to correct VPN connection issues.
No mention from Sony of the unwanted powering off issues.

Nope, unfortunately not. Root is gone.
Haven't tried rooting it again, yet, but as Sony did something to VPN i don't think it will work.

Yes i was rooted before, and yes it's gone now.
I'm gonna try rooting it again soon, maybe tonight.

Had the issue where it would shut down and sent it to Sony Support. They have since sent it back "fixed". I can't say if it's gone or not because I still need to pick it up from the post office. They said that it was a software problem and they fixed it (as well as replace the back cover). Will let you all know if it's gone. Perhaps hidden in the release 6a update is the fix for this?

I sent my Xperia Tablet S in for the same reason, all they did was replace the back panel, they claimed there were no software problems, but they have me unconvinced. It still shuts off randomly, mostly while watching something on the YouTube app. The update seemed to only have fixed the wifi disconnects, and VPN issues. I think it's something in the firmware that Sony needs to fix before the shut down problem will be fixed.

I have updated release6a update and its boot up after update and came with an error code 0. and I couldnt find any sony applications and when I check the build number its unknown(us) any idea I have done the fqcatory reset as well.please help me to repaire. Thanks

I searched everywhere but i have a problem with the sound. Sometimes when a Notification plays theres an audible crackling. I dont know if its Software side or could be a hardware issue. Im running Existenz.

i never had this issue
try flashing a Stock FTF and see if ir still happens, if it still happens i think you can get a free repair under sony warrenty as this is likely an issue not caused by user wear

had stock the same ... thats sad .. its just one week old .. dont think i will take it to repair that will take too long, just live with it and sell it when the z3 comes out
