hello all, I posted this also in android development under themes but havent gotten a response plus it is for the tattoo so i guess i'll post here as well?
I'm looking for a shaded taskbar or status bar. all in all i would really like to have the top bar where the time, battery, signal, notifications bar shaded plus the pull down menu background shaded to around 50% transparency. I'm currently on [ROM] fyodor FroYo AOSP Tattoo v0.7.2c (Optimized ADWLauncher for QVGA) so it is on 2.2 but i cant seem to find any working mods for this. If anyone knows a simple way to do this (via apk or flash) please let me know! ive been searching for 2 nights to no avail!

I think that the size of the statusbar in that mod are to high. I can try something. I let you know when it work.

hey guys I am a little confused with making the status bar in froyo 2.2 transparent. Would be great if someone could help me out.
I understand that the file "statusbar_background.9.png" is responsible for the statusbar transparency.
I have 2 questions:
1) Even when I put in a 100% transparent statusbar_background.9.png into my framework-res.apk file, the status bar still shows a shade of rectangle. I've read other posts and they all could successfully implement a 100% transparent status bar without the rectangular shape.
2) This problem did not happen in 2.1. Now, in froyo 2.2, while the status bar is transparent in the lockscreen, it becomes black when I unlock the screen.
or could I be doing something wrong? are there anything to edit in the xml files?
This has to be allowed in services.jar Don't know where in this phone, but it has to be there.
i just rooted my device. then i unstall stock221v13-bugfix-3.
at this time i wanna install themegs.

Which launcher do you use?
For example launcher pro doesn't support a transparent status bar- I used a morph to make it transparent but it just changed to grey- locked its transparent.
I searched a little bit and the problem is launcher pro. It cuts the wallpaper so the back of the status bar is not the wallpaper but the color of the drawer- so it stays black.. or at least grey... I cannot really explain it to you- just google a little bit- it is a well known issue of launcher pro.
I would like to know if anybody knows what exact file in the community rom is the status bar background (when its not pulled down). Right now its just plain black and I want to change it to the grey gradient one found in the i900 gingerbread leak. So please do share where it is located. I know its in the framework apk but confused on what folder. And this is just another request (not necessary but would be great) would somebody be able to make a flashable zip that changes the signal and 3g icons for community rom 1.3 to white instead of green while keeping the battery icon green? The problem is that the battery is always stuck at 100 percent on the status bar. In fact all the themes with a circular battery in that post don't seem to work except for the 4.5 circular battery mod.Matted Blues also has a problem were the battery percentage wont show up in the status bar when you turn it on in CM settings.
Looking at the xmls in root explorer, the battery updates only on certain percentages while in the 4.5 circular mod it updates every percent. Does anyone know how to fix this. I tried myself but the xmls only appear as gibberish on my computer, like if they were corrupt. Using the xmls of 4.5 Circular mod on the Frost theme didn't work either.
Ima keep trying but if anyone else can help that would be great.

I've looked around on the web but I can't seem to be able to find a solid guide on how to mod the notification bar to be a different color or semi transparent.
I know some miui themes exist, but i want to do it manually so i or anyone else stumbling on this thread can apply it to their current rom and theme they have going.
I guess while we're at it, if anyone also knows how to change individual icons on the status bar that would be awesome too.
To my knowledge uot kitchen does not work with transparent/different colored notification bars.
Hopefully someone can shed some light!

From what i hear its almost impossible unless u are on miui.....ill tell u a few ways to work around it though....u can use multipicture live wallpaper, or if you have adw launcher ex you can turn on high res in settings

I FINALLY got it to work on my phone after months of searching. What ROM are you on?
Hi, I have been using some of your very useful information since I got an international S3 I9300, and got to tweak the original theme a little. Thanks for that.
So I'm using go launcher X, xposed framework and some modules which gave me the transparent status bar and some new icons.
But I cannot get the transparency in notification tray, behind notifications or clock.
Does anybody know if it is possible? Is there any module for xposed framework which actually can do that?

I have the GS3 (Int.) and will be modding my status bar to make it more like the android 4.4 leak (nice and transparent) or like the transparent GS4 status bar. Try this module. it's the closest I could find: forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2457265 . I will be doing this exact thing later on today. The link has the details and a video if you need help from that. Here is a video walkthrough that I will be following later on today: goo.gl/NJVFUc . Copy-paste the link into the search bar without www at the start.

Actually I'm using xblast module and xquicksetting toggles to get those transparent parts but it can't get the transparency behind the clock or the notifications "per se"
