So I really like the free version of Launcher Pro that is in the market. I'd love to pay to go up to the full version. Unfortunately, it requires paypal. I have never needed paypal before, so I do not have one. I don't want to open a paypal account for one purchase, as this seems overly silly to me, and stupid to do with any financial information. I don't want to pirate it, as that screws the developer and is generally a bad thing.
So I guess what I want to know is, is there a way for me to get an activation code for Launcher Pro without having to open up a paypal account?
Can you use Google Checkout with it? I know I did when I bought Better Keyboard.
its no where in the market because i was looking for it to... not looking good for the google checkout

Because the developer lives outside of the U.S. and in a country where there are no paid apps in the google market he has to use paypal. If you wanted to, you could get a prepaid visa gift card or the like and buy it that way.
I could buy a prepaid card, but that's way more work and still ends up with opening a paypal account for one use.

Hello! I just noticed this new app being promoted around my city (Boston) and it is quite awesome!
The App is called LevelUp
It is by the makers of SCVNGR (I haven't used that one)
Anyway this app is awesome because not only is it a fast and easy way to pay, but it also gives you great deals as well as some awesome rewards! Plus it is cheaper for businesses to use than credit cards.
So once you sign up, you add your credit card and then show your generated QR code at the store. You can even select a tip.
Now only stores in select cities are using this so far:
Boston, NYC, Philly, and San Francisco.
So if you live here you should definitely get this app!
Here is the best part (and a great tip for those in Boston):
The first time you pay in a store, you get money off of your purchase, then the more you pay at that store with LevelUp, the more money off you get.
For example. In Boston there is a place called Sebastian's. The first time you go there with LevelUp, you have a $10 credit. So get all the food you can under $10 and watch as you don't pay a dime. Then, after you spend $50 (including your first free $10) you get $5 off your next purchase.
Also if you are interested here is a Promo code that will give you an extra $5 towards any purchase: 59840
Have fun Everyone! and keep an eye out for the LevelUp stickers in store windows!
Would be nice. I happen to not live in a big city and have been looking for a payment solution similar to Google Wallet. Maybe when ICS gets pushed to devices it will be compatible with more phones. Not sure why though since GB was supposed to be fully functional for this type of service.
Well even if we had Google Wallet, we would need NFC, and then retailers would need to buy nfc readers. I don't see it becoming prevalent for a few years. This already has a head start and gives you free money! lol
So. Someone steals my phone and goes on a shopping spree.... no thank u

True. And if you guys haven't heard someone already hacked Google Wallet with ability to steal card numbers. However, it is no different if someone steals your wallet or just the credit card number. Last two cards I have had (personal and business) someone got ahold of the number and went shopping online. So really, it can happen either way. Just have to make sure your lockscreen is active.
We'll never get wallet due to lack of NFC but I also own a NS4G and you'd really be surprised at the places it works. Next time you go the the grocery story check out the card swiper. Most have a lump at the top for mastercard tap and pay fobs. Those are NFC points and work great. Now that I look for it, im seeing them a lot. I've even paid for gas at the pump with it.
Hi is there any way to get a free developer's account for the Android Market? Or will someone be willing to let me use theirs or buy one for me in exchange for a favour? I am only 16 and my family have no credit cards. PS I'm only going to host free apps.
Thank you
It's only $25. I'm sure you could easily go out an earn that money. Go offer to shovel neighbors snow or cut their grass. Btw getter is a free alternative.
Couldn't you pay with a bank account number? Sure your family have one.
how to app from google play. i never done it before so. i dont have credit card and paypal deosn't work in my country.so any other way..
Some carriers have an arrangement with Google that allow you to pay for apps via your phone bill. Check with your carrier/Google if this is the case. If not, you're out of luck given you say you can't use the other methods of payment.
listin i been trying to figure out how to buy an app with the 10$ thats on my card.. and it wont let me??? am i missing somethin... gives me the option to bill my sprint account.. add card...redeem.. i push redeem then it says gift card code.. i put the number on the 10$ card and it keeps saying invalid gift card code?????? WACK!!!!!!
No you can't, at least from what I've read (I wondered the same thing). Google wants you to spend that $10 using the phone's NFC capabilities.
Actually I spent mine on a cheap mhl adapter by going to a site that accepts Google wallet
That's good to know. I was just going off of what I had read before because I was wondering the same as OP.

Well you couldn't until they upgraded to their new cloud payment system. Now any site (supposedly I only tried the one) that has a Google wallet logo allows you to make a purchase without having to sign up to the website, really convenient

What one did you try? It'd be pretty cool if Amazon or other major online retailers started accepting Google Wallet (though that wouldn't really add any convenience for most people, since I'm sure everyone already has an Amazon accounts).
I don't remember but I bookmarked it on my nephews laptop
Hey,
Just looking for a bit of assistance and please excuse if this is the incorrect place. I'm currently getting a Nexus 5 from the play store in Australia and was wondering about payment methods, the reason behind this is because:
a) I'm not in a supported County of the play store
b) I own a debit card
While I know play store accepts debit cards this doesn't help much. So iv managed to get hold of a friend in Australia who will get the device for me when it comes available again and I'll sort out my own private shipping from him to me. Anyways my main question was:
What would be the best method to get my funds to him? Iv got plenty options like PayPal the funds to his account which he can then use his own debit card to pay for it or would a Google wallet transfer be a better option? Last one is it possible to purchase from the play store using his (the Australian friends) Google wallet?
I'm trying to make the process as smooth as possible since he is really helping me out, I don't want to back door Google and go via a VPN when I can try resolve this easy with a simple question.
Regards and thanks in advance

you can use western union, they are every where and can transfer within the day
.
Check this out! You , YES! you are an " Android ". Not your phone but U.
Western Union charges. Paypal is instant and doesn't cost anything under a certain amount if I'm not mistaken. I've used PayPal to xfer money to friends and it works great. They don't even need a PayPal account. Once you send a payment to an email, they will get an email to open up an account to collect the money. Also the android app works really well for personal payments, not to mention that you can get a debit card from them that costs nothing and gives cash back on purchases.
